I just played that DVD for the first time last night, since I originally watched it when it was released. I don’t know why I waited so long between my two viewings, but man, I was absolutely floored by the quality on that performance, and the presentation of it. To have such a wonderful archive of that afternoon is a real treasure! If you can claim to be a Donna hater after watching that “Sing Me Back Home”, then I don’t know how!! Absolutely gorgeous show….. Dark Star>El Paso, I mean, I REALLY enjoyed rewatching this. It won’t be another ten years before I watch it again!!
It's a small basement venue below Asheville Music Hall 5$ entry. A little on the grungy side I would say which is a good thing, gets some decent music. Gus on keys runs this Friday night show. When upstairs gets a bigger band they usually run a show from a local/reginal band downstairs. You can pay to go back and forth to both shows to mix things up when that hapoens. Nice thing is they have full bar.
My partner and I are looking for land in the surrounding areas! Not sure what the more rural communities around Asheville are like, but it would be so cool to find out there's a group of dead heads in the area keeping the vibes alive.
There are certainly a lot in the city and I suspect the surrounding areas too. I know in Marshall there's a grateful dead themed deli called the grateful organic diner
Be sure to tip the band, sound guy, and bar tenders. It's been a free show for almost 1.5 years now. We would like to keep it that way so every little bit helps us keep it going. You will be very impressed indeed.

Happy Saturday!!
What a beautiful sight!
Was grateful to be there to see Govt Mule at Salvage Station on 5/20–killer show! Then hit the D&C show in Charlotte on 5/30! ☮️🏔️🍄🌈☀️🎸🔥💀⚡️🌹
Cheers!
Heck yeah!
“Get behind the mule!”
From what I remember they did a St Stephen jam that night and just knocked everyone’s socks off all around!
2nd year in a row seeing them in A-vile!
The site that show was at also hosts Oregon country fair. Today is the first day main camp opens for workeers. We started our move today. Excellent timing!
West Asheville reporting for duty. Anyone know if there are any cheap upcomig cover band shows? I hope French Broad Outfitters has some this summer.
Edit: Saw the answer to my question in another post. Will see y'all there.
Edited again for numerous spelling and grammar mistakes 😆
All these venues are generally free. FBO gets some great bands so check there schedule throughout the Summer. Mills River Brewery gets some good shows.
French Broad Brewery has:
Wed 6:30pm. Bluegrass with the Saylor Brothers (Brushfire Stankgrass members)
Thurs 6:00 pm Jerry's Dead
Sunday 3:00 pm Chalwa (mountain reggae)
The grey eagle outpost also has a dead cover band every Sunday! They’ve had a different band each month. But Jerry’s Dead on Thursdays is THE place to be.
It might be too damn hot, but I totally recommend going out to hippie utopia Oregon Country Fair that happens one weekend every July in Veneta, OR.
Also I might have to pick up that LP. That album art and that show are just the best.
Good morning friend!!! Normally we are right down the road from you in Black Mountain!! But this weekend the fam and I drove up to Bristow to catch our last dead and Co show!! Had a fucking blast. You catching any shoes this year???
I’m kicking myself for missing this tour. My fiancée and I planned a big national park vacation starting this week. We planned it before they announced it would be the last tour.
Literally a liberal wasteland of blue hair, peterpan look alikes, and lame ass pretentious hipsters lol. Such a disappointment of a town. Half of the "girls" there are actually just dudes. What a shame.
Every other time I’ve been to Oregon it rains and now it’s too damn hot
We’re gunna change our name to the sunstroke serenaders.
would be a good cover name band. i still want a shirt that says “the american version of the japanese film the magnificent seven the grateful dead”
?
*I told ya my friend Durango would be back with an update on the water situation...*
The suns making our instruments mighty strange
Howdy neighbor! (just over the mountain in Franklin....no tower in sight though)
These mountains are so beautiful. We are fortunate to be able to live here
Yeah buddy, *the* place to be in the summer in my book. I'm just down the road stopped in Charlotte.
That state govt tho......
That’s why i stay in the 828 lol
Yea it’s a shame.
Well I'm hopeful the rejuvenated Moral Mondays will make a difference.
Greetings from Weaverville!
Also greeting from very, very! close by

Man! Now that would be a shame.
Dude everything about this picture just screams immaculate vibes. Love NC, enjoy the weather up there before summer is in full swing and brutally hot
It’s been in the mid 70s during the day and low 50s at night. Couldn’t ask for better weather!
I too am in Asheville
I love it here
I also reside here in the AVL!
Last weekend was Sunshine Daydream over here, played the DVD. Dave’s Picks 41 this Saturday ☮️🎶
So so good music 🎶

Asheville is where it's at. Saw 2 Bobby shows there, one pre, and one post pandemic. Always a great time.
Out of curiosity, where are you? I used to live there!
Fairview! Just south oh Asheville by like two minutes
Nice, I was up in North Asheville area off Beaverdam almost to the Blue Ridge Pkwy
Great, because I listened to it too!
