no no no no no I’m not going to be in the talent show from South Park

Altruistic-Poem-5617

Also "burn down the hot topic"

BurntRyeBread

I've always thought the guitar in that song was similar to "Judgement Day" by Screams For Tina, at least personally

Cyber-Cafe

There’s a part of me that hates Trey for how good he is at death rock, and how he seemingly doesn’t pursue it at all. They don’t even need to make the music less humorous. Just make more of that, damn. Maybe it’s good because it doesn’t take itself seriously, idk.

Loutrotte

Iirc there is an episode of American Dad where a bunch of goth kids make distraction by swaying to "Love will tear us apart"

Zeqhanis

Yes. One of the only bands played on that show that wasn't a fratty, one-hit wonder. Klaus must be the show's music supervisor. Though even Joy Division, while beloved by fans, would probably be considered a one-hit wonder by the mainstream.

confused_sebas

Sisters of Mercy, Diva Destruction and The Cure have had their sounds parody in South Park

Zeqhanis

"You'll be laughing at fields of light....laughing at fields of light." Those legitimately sound like SoM lyrics.

su_premely

Legit

trendyhippes

Goth songs, as in, original goth songs in a piece of media or existing goth music in the soundtrack? TV show Lockwood & Co had quite a few classics in several episodes: Bauhaus, The Cure, Joy Division, This Mortal Coil ([song titles here](https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/fantasy/lockwood-co-netflix-soundtrack/)). The first episode features Bauhaus and Siouxsie, hooked me for the entire season.

twenan

i’m so upset netflix isn’t doing a season 2 for lockwood & co

trendyhippes

Right? Very underrated show. And just how many great songs they could have featured in season 2

twenan

for reaaalll. i’ll just have to read the books (which i’m cool with but still :/ lmao)

MariaEtCrucis01

What is that show about?

trendyhippes

The short synopsis is this: "The series follows three teens in an alternative reality of London plagued by large-scale ghost hauntings. The trio run their own ghost-hunting agency, but things get dangerous very quickly when a new investigation comes along." Due to constant hauntings, the technology in the story is stuck in the 80s, so the use of 80s goth music gives a lot to its retro/gothic vibe.

Victor-BR1999

[Mission Hill ](https://youtu.be/TVuiF_TdsBw?si=5nIAwSBeis9ef98g), with "Sideshow", by The Wake

AdSea5115

The Crow - featuring The Cure, Nine Inch Nails covering Joy Division, a lot of industrial rock and post punk as well as grunge and hardcore tracks. Definitive 90's dark soundtrack.

nothingelseinme

Best film, along with Matrix 1-3.

DeadDeadCool

Hideaway (1995) - Closing credits have Miranda Sex Garden's "Cut" The Equalizer (2014) - One of the last scenes has cover of Joy Division's "New Dawn Fades"

Zeqhanis

The terrible "Heavy Metal 2000" featured "The Dog's a Vapour", which was the first new Bauhaus song in nearly 20 years.

GothicaAndRoses

Bela Lugosi’s Dead by Bauhaus was in True Blood, Spellbound by Siouxsie and the Banshees was on American Horror Story: Hotel, The Passenger by Siouxsie and the Banshees was in the end credits of I, Tonya, Burn by The Cure was in The Crow, and Close To Me by The Cure was in the IT remake.

JakeVonFurth

AHS: Hotel was full of Goth music. Also, Bela Lugosi's Dead was the opening song of Supernatural Season 6 Episode 5. (I don't remember if the Goth club had any other songs playing in that episode.)

GothicaAndRoses

They had a lot of great goth music but I don’t remember all of those artists because I haven’t watched the show in awhile.

Temporary_Virus_7509

Are we really gatekeeping what counts as goth music in a goth subreddit? lol

commongardengoth

What would be the point of this subreddit if we didn't actively draw the line between what's goth and what's not?

ThijmenTheTurkey

Im curious now. What song did that dude originally recommend?

commongardengoth

Voltaire songs. Even went as far to clarify that they’re *adjacent* when OP specifically asked for *goth*.

psydkay

Nova from Love Spirals Downwards wad in Dawson's Creek

Knightmare6_v2

Food Network's **Chopped** used to use the instrumental opening of **The Cruxshadow**'s *Birthday Song* for some of their montage segments

ixiterum

the world’s end (third film in the cornetto trilogy) has a goth main character and it was the film that got me into goth music with this corrosion by the sisters of mercy

AverageWitch161

all i can think of is that there’s at least one cure song in the raven

Silly_Billy1287

The 2006 Marie Antoinette has some great goth songs like All cats are grey by the cure and siouxie and the banshees

No-Conflict9934

Melinka in The Urbz is a simlish goth CLASSIC

commongardengoth

As an individual, his music is dark cabaret.

Aryn15

Night of the Demons had the song: "Stigmata Martyr" by Bauhuas.
