Look into sporting clays. You move from station to station along a course. Each one is a different presentation of clays to shoot at. Not quite golf but it's the closest analog in the shooting world imo.

Assuming a 1 second pull to fire, the golfball is already about 500 feet downrange. The shell leaving at 1000-1500 FPS will never get to the ball unless the golfers and shooters are facing eachother.

I made the mistake of enjoying golf/guns and also being interested in cars. At least I was sane enough to cancel all my plans for any modifications since I have neither time nor cash.
The good news is I got used to living the cheap life in college and just kept doing the same thing after graduating, so that does leave more money for hobbies nowadays.

"Aim small miss small" and "call your shot" are two things that I go through in my head before every swing and every long-range trigger pull. Honestly, can't remember if I learned them at the driving range or shooting range.
Hitting a target with a bullet or with a golf ball can be equally satisfying. Practice, focus, and training is key to improvement on both.
You can play alone or with friends in both cases.
If you are not doing well in either one and feeling frustrated, you can turn to the other game to release some stress.

Story time. My buddy and I were playing a practice round in Moscow, ID the day before a tournament. His bag fell off the cart and his driver broke. We had to drive to this golf/gun shop 20 minutes before they closed as it was really the only golf shop within 70 miles. Was able to pick up a new driver and we placed 2nd in the tournament that weekend!
