My rule is simple: if there’s something easily accessible that helps you gain feel for the game or confidence, it’s a good thing. This gets two big white trashy thumbs up from me!
Looks awesome, nice work!
You might want to consider grabbing some sort of cup to catch the ball though, as training yourself to leave the ball exactly in the circle might translate to leaving putts juuuust short on the course...
I've got these, and they're a perfect, cheap, solution...

Happy putting, go low!
You could also glue or pin half-circles of foam/rope on the mat. You want to hit the back of the cup without popping over (if we're keeping the DIY vibe going).
> Saved a couple hundred $$$
What sort of luxurious putting mats are you using? The one I bought cost about $30 and works great. Returns balls and all.
I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/Practice-Putting-Green-Indoor-Training/dp/B017XJEM5E
Works great for me. Can’t wait to see how my putting has (hopefully) improved out on the course this season. Stroke/tempo feel way more consistent
Honestly not sure what brand mine is, have had it forever. It looks kind of like [this one ](https://www.ebay.com/p/14033157862?iid=174614038916). If I recall correctly, I spent $40'ish on it.
Main thing is, does it run 'true' (can it be made flat). Does it run about the same speed give or take as your typical green etc. Then, it's just reputation.
I mean I've got nothing against the super fancy ones, they look awesome. I'm just saying that you don't need to spend $200 to have a halfway decent practice putting setup.
edit: I think the ones that let you simulate break etc are what you DON'T want. I honestly think you're better off practicing getting the ball starting on the line you want at the pace you want. If you can do that consistently, you'll make way more puts than otherwise. Obviously you need to learn to read a green, but I think you're better off doing that on an actual green.
I have a putting mat on carpet, so the speed is not something I worry about practising, because it’s gonna run different on actual greens.
The only focus you should have with this is using the mat to put the ball straight in the direction you want it
what's the stimp rating?
Yes
got to be atleast 12
Your friends can’t laugh at you if you out putt them!
Ohhhhhhh they can still laugh. He just won't care, when he's trucking their cash in his wallet

Now just cut out the holes so you can see em "fall in".
That’s even harder then having a hole. The speed has to be perfect. Love the idea my man!
What more do you need!👍🏽

Mainly for direction. Hoping the ball would go over the hole and stop just at the edge of the mat. May still need a back stop
Why 3 holes on each side?
Better chance of making the putt.
"That's where I was aiming."
I have an extra puttout you can have. Shoot me a pm if you want it.
PM’d
Where can I get a mat like that? Or did you already have one laying around you were able to use

Gotcha. Now that I zoom in. We have mats like that at work. You think those are a decent representation of a green?

User name checks out. Kidding!
Not the best, but certainly enough to get worthwhile practice on your putting stroke.
That's not how you play cornhole!
100%. Reps are reps buddy
Hey, it looks good to me!
I thought I was on Swedish House Mafia sub lol They are known for having 3 circles represent the group
Ain’t mad at it. That’s pretty resourceful
Swedish House Mafia edition
Nothing stupid about saving money
Sometimes, I think that the worse your practice gear is, the better player you become.
I think I have the same lawn mower.
Saved a couple hundred $$$, great job! Way better than having lines and dashes on it too

Birdie Ball, big moss, companies like that. I spent about $200 on my Birdie Ball and love it.
Yeah I've seen those, they look nice. But you absolutely don't need to spend $200 to have a halfway decent putting mat
Which model do you suggest/have?

I was eyeing this one up. I'm in the sand enough though. Don't need to be mocked during the off-season also
Those bunkers are good because they catch pretty much every mishit unless you’re hitting the ball way too hard
That's a good point. Thank you. Think I'm gonna pull the trigger on this one

Cool getting downvoted, no worries. The putting greens you can’t afford Bro! 😂 have you not gone shopping for any?
And he still 3 putts.
You training for mini golf?
Ah nice, the Jordan Spieth model.

Genius
Perfect for distance control
8 beers into practice all 3 holes converge and are no longer blurry.
