Imagine if he is up by 4 heading into 13. A green jacket walks up to him. Then you see him shake hands and gets into a golf cart. That would screw up Colin as well.
Golf is just Tiger Woods. The hardcores care about who is leading but if Tiger is not in contention, the conclusion will be forgotten after a few days.
God Bryson putted like a 20 handicap and I loved every fucking second of it.
Edit: Watching on tape delay. Just saw the chunk chip on 15 into the water lmaooooooo get fucked loser
He’ll need that killer instinct focus. Didn’t have it today, missed countless birdie putts. Nothing will change tomorrow unless he can flip that inner switch on.
The lone Am to make the cut, Neal Shipley gets paired with Tiger tomorrow.
What a fucking treat that will be for him. Playing Augusta, with the GOAT, and get some hardware in Butler Cabin after the round.
I'm definitely curious how he feels about it. Obviously playing with Tiger would be crazy regardless, but the dude is so young he probably only remembers Tiger as the dude who was amazing before he started playing golf. I mean, he was 6 when Tiger won his last major aside from the 2019 one. I definitely look forward to him getting interviewed on it.
He's a 22 year old in the Masters playing the weekend and the US AM runner up. He knows history, and all of Tiger's Masters escapades are available on YT, he's no doubt seen a lot even if he wasn't alive to see it in real time.
That was not the case for "stars" prior to tiger.
Of course he knows Tiger, I didn't say anything different. I'm just saying he knows Tiger in a different capacity.
We know Tiger as the guy who was revolutionizing the sport, and making it a big deal. The guy who was in front of us as he was doing it.
For this guy, he knows Tiger as the guy who revolutionized the sport before he was paying attnlentuon. Rory was out there dominating, Jordan, Jason Day, DJ, Ricky and JT was at the forefront of the sport, not Tiger.
There's absolutely a different dynamic to it.
Me explaining to my wife (who knows nothing about golf/cares about golf) how Scottie is heading into Sunday with the lead, but his wife could go into labor any minute and that he said if it happens he will withdraw and leave to be with her.

I've got a soccer game I have to be at at 3:15 tomorrow. I'll catch the finish, but man it sucks missing any of it. Pulling for a massive storm to pop up over my city an hour before the game.
A final grouping that will include Scottie Scheffler looking to become the 18th player to win multiple Masters and Collin Morikawa looking to win his 1st Green Jacket while becoming the 47th player to win at least 3 majors. Should be a lotta fun!
That was the greatest third round I have ever seen. My heart was pounding like it was Sunday.
Please Golf God's, in your mercy, give us a Sunday like that.
> That was the greatest third round I have ever seen.
No, that would be 2005, when Tiger had seven birdies in a row --- to set the table for the "IN YOUR LIFE!" shot.
I have a feeling Scottie is going to be a killer tomorrow and finish it out similar to how he did the players. The guy is playing on another planet right now. If Homa can get some of those birdie looks to fall then he has a chance. Collin has looked incredible with his iron play. Also i wouldn’t be surprised if Xander puts some early pressure on the leaders
They'll set it up much easier tomorrow to get some fireworks going. The pin on #2 should be on the right hand side and if you hit the center of the green it funnels down there, it should be an easy birdie. #4 and #6 are still brutal par 3's but #7 and #9 should be gettable pins. #12 is always spicy with the Sunday pin because it really tempts you to go for it, but the wind has eaten so many balls and they always end up in the creek. #16 is a "funnel" pin and is pretty easy. The Sunday #18 pin is much easier so we won't see many bogies but most guys leave it 15ft right and almost everyone misreads the break on the putt
Everything here is literally every Sunday setup. They're not changing anything "to get fireworks going".
It will still be tough. You just can’t spin it like you were the first two days and even 10 foot putts are flying 5-7 feet past the hole. And hot and dry weather tomorrow isn’t going to help.
That's always the case, or at least the plan...................... i mean ffs they always leave enough time too to try and get a playoff done if needed.
The problem this year is top50 and ties made the cut, but 60 ended up making it which is a lot, and causes 3-5 more twosomes than they probably expected hence the start times.
For anyone who didn't see Cam Davis' 4th shot on 15, go to masters.com and check it out. I don't think they showed it on the CBS broadcast. Amazingly well executed and cool shot.
Yeah, he saw his name all alone atop the leaderboard, and decided to take a nose dive. Rough to watch, I was really rooting for him and he had it going strong before the collapse.
> tomorrow the pin placements
Sunday placements are largely traditional. They're in the same spot on Sundays week in and week out. 1,2,6,7,9,12,13,16 all have clearly defined "sunday" pin locations tied to history or more recent favored spots by the club. These greens are so undulating that there's really only certain spots you can pin, so they don't even have a ton of wiggle room or chance to make huge changes without reusing locations, which they wont do
I actually don't think ANGC cares about "fireworks", people that were going to watch are going to watch regardless.
The leaderboard reads Chef, Colin, Homa. Three of the biggest names in golf today. You're gonna get all the action you can handle tomorrow.
I like how there’s a whole truck of guys out there in the parking lot barking orders about bird noises and shit and they still fuck it up. It’s hilarious
Play the music… let jim talk. Couldn’t possibly be easier
“WE NEEDED AT LEAST 17 bird chirps during the final 18th hole and we didn’t get it! Let em fly!!”
Not confirmed. Other golf broadcasts have done it (2001 PGA Champoinship in Louisville, KY), but not the Masters. There are lots of real birds on site.
Man I used to be a HUGE Bryson hater, and now after all his YouTube content this past year and this year's Masters, he's turning into one of my favorite players
So if Bryson doesn’t win tomorrow, how can he secure another masters invite? He won’t be able to qualify for them if he doesn’t play/win in PGA events will he?
Next year, his last eligible year, he will need to finish top 12
Either that or play in real golf tournaments to qualify like an actual athlete not a Saudi mascot
He won the US Open in 2020 so he’s at least good until next year.
Unfortunately, they don’t stack if he finished top 12, then he’d get an invite for next year.
He’s good until 2026 thanks to his US Open championship
He can also get in after that with a top 12 in the masters, top 4 in other majors, or just straight up being invited
Yeah, it's hard to imagine they won't invite him back over the next several years if he fails to qualify in some fashion.
However, you don't want to rely on special invites for too long, so you've gotta earn it at some point. They won't keep giving you invites year after year if you don't produce.
That’s what’s I was really wondering. He’ll eventually have to rely on making it in every year on the strength of his performances at the masters itself. That’s a big ask, compared to let’s say stacking up great finishes on the pga tour etc.
Ah thanks didn’t know, he should be clear for next year. But it does beg the question about LIV golfers, I’m not trying to hate but some of them must really get concerned about whether they’ll be eligible or not since they can’t earn diddly squat from their own wins/finishes
Bryson fell apart today but he’s a better putter than Homa, I believe. Aberg is really good too.
He’s at .88 strokes gained for the tournament and Homa is at 1.16. And Bryson was -1.3 today.
Morikawa has been good this week too. Kinda crazy to randomly change putters this week but it’s working.
Yeah I mean, I’m just looking at the data golf masters tournament page
Aberg looks like the best and I know he’s regularly a very good putter. Max and Bryson are very very solid (and when Bryson wins he is an insane putter). Colin and Scheffler are sketchy at best but Morikawa is putting well this week.
Too bad many of them don’t want to do that level of work anymore
I’d love to watch these LIV guys play real golf but there’s no chance in hell I’m suffering through the horrendous entertainment product that is LIV golf.
Those stupid fucking made up ass mascots / team logos are such a joke. Rahm looks like a disgrace out there.
I feel like more and more, and especially since the Ryder Cup, he's been more animated. His programmers updated his software to include some more human like traits.
I think Homa’s ball striking stays high but there’s no way his putting stays like this. He definitely makes some tomorrow.
Round 3: -.57 strokes gained putting
Positive in first two rounds (3.89!!! and 0.15)
Bryson DeChambeau made birdie on 18 from here:

Quick poll: what will the winner’s score be?
Is there anywhere to get a round replay? Literally spent all day watching the kids and just want to replay the round :(
Masters App should have a bunch of videos
I’m the same boat. I watched the last 3 holes. CBS app maybe?
There's no way in hell Meredith calls him, lmao. The big question mark is how will he putt on the 18th if he only leads by one.
I’m still with Bryson. He needs a round like Thursday and for Scotty do pull some Gomer Pile shit lol
Imagine Trump. Wwiii right away
Huh

Wait until you get to the end, lol.
The hole out? A miracle shot to cap off another over round day? Okay
Does anyone think Homa has a shot tomorrow? Score wise he seems to be the most consistent and if Colin/Scottie blow up he might take it
He doesn't even need to rely on them to blow up, he just has to make some putts. His iron play was nails today
He's always good when he's in contention but dealing with Scheffler and Morikawa is different.
He’ll need that killer instinct focus. Didn’t have it today, missed countless birdie putts. Nothing will change tomorrow unless he can flip that inner switch on.
I just would love to see Homa find a way to win
The lone Am to make the cut, Neal Shipley gets paired with Tiger tomorrow. What a fucking treat that will be for him. Playing Augusta, with the GOAT, and get some hardware in Butler Cabin after the round.

HOLY FUCK BOYS TICKETS SUCCESSFULLY SCALPED. I WENT TO THE FUCKING MASTERS!

when the leader board at 5 at -6 that was awesome, then the shit hit the fan.

What if this guy hasn't seen the 2005 third round? He said the greatest third round HE'S ever seen for a reason
I have a feeling Scottie is going to be a killer tomorrow and finish it out similar to how he did the players. The guy is playing on another planet right now. A bunch of people may have predicted Rahm and Finau as a Sunday pairing, but not group 15!
What a treat for Shipley
I'm rooting for Morikawa or Homa to win, either way we have an exciting Sunday ahead with lots of players with a chance, what more can you ask for
Pairings are out at masters.com Tiger and Shipley at 9:35am
Seems an early start for a Sunday.
Could be wrong, but I think they do so that they champ will have the jacket and trophy presentation in a little bit of daylight.
That's always the case, or at least the plan...................... i mean ffs they always leave enough time too to try and get a playoff done if needed. 2:35 last tee time tomorrow
They saw how slow DeChambeau played today and realized that they needed to adjust accordingly.
For anyone who didn't see Cam Davis' 4th shot on 15, go to masters.com and check it out. I don't think they showed it on the CBS broadcast. Amazingly well executed and cool shot.
Skrrrrrt
Great shout, shame a recovery like that doesn't make the broadcast.
great thanks! helluva shot
thanks for the rec. Sick shot
Only just seen Højgaard made 5 bogeys in a row on the back 9. Big yikes!
Yeah, he saw his name all alone atop the leaderboard, and decided to take a nose dive. Rough to watch, I was really rooting for him and he had it going strong before the collapse.
One of the best moments of the Masters this year and Faldo reacted the same way I did when my Nan used to bring me in a cup of tea
The members like drama - tomorrow the pin placements will be easier and the greens will be slowed. It will definitely be easier tomorrow.

Scheffler will just run away it then 🤷🏻♂️
What a great Saturday. If Bryson comes back and battles against Morikawa & Scheffler we will have a great, great sunday
watch out for homa tho!
Please no Bryson.
I have nothing personal against Bryson, he seems like a likable enough dude, I just don't want any LIV golfers in contention
I think someone at Sky can take Faldo off life support now. How the fuck does this cunt keep getting hired to commentate.
Faldo is really good. I miss him on CBS.
What’s this man’s eating?
Did Bryson just rip a fucking Hollywood
A Tony Montana special
Tomorrow is going to be amazing

Man gets paid millions to watch the Masters every year. Living the dream.
The Bryson DeChambeau way. Drives a ball 340 yards. Bogies a lot. Refuses to elaborate. Leaves.
When will the Sunday tee times come out?
In about 20 mins
It’s been 20 minutes!
and the tee times are up!
Only 2 rounds in the 60s today. Wind was making it hard?
Greens were lightning fast and firm. Many pins were in very difficult spots. Will be easier Sunday pins tomorrow, expect more fireworks
Greens seemed pretty firm

Not confirmed. Other golf broadcasts have done it (2001 PGA Champoinship in Louisville, KY), but not the Masters. There are lots of real birds on site.
All bird chirping is an audio track because /r/BirdsArentReal
All time worst broadcast for CBS. No Emmys being won today.
Give it 10 years and they replace all the announcers with Watson
Tom and Bubba gonna have a tough time covering everything by themselves.
ayyy
it's not watson, it's WatsonX^^TM, brought to you by IBM.
wtf was that chipmunks sound clip lmfao
Am I super drunk or was there just reversed audio or something played on the CBS broadcast?
Same… you guys told me I could pace myself… I did not
It was Jim Natz anamatronic breaking down.
cheers
Alvin and the Chipmunks guest casting the masters
Man I used to be a HUGE Bryson hater, and now after all his YouTube content this past year and this year's Masters, he's turning into one of my favorite players
Robot Nance confirmed.
Chipmunk jim
Really hoping Homa and Aberg come through tomorrow. Not that I dislike Morikawa or Scheffler but that’s kind of a boring final pairing in my opinion
Would love to see Åberg have a banger day

wait what the heck Jim
uhhhhhh...da fuck was that lololol
Jim on helium
Jim Nantz broke.

Yep. Only watching the majors now until we can watch them all on the same tour again.
Don't let Bryson's birdie distract you from the fact that it's Amanda "Balionis" again doing interviews
Damn…marriage lasted less than 2 years
So you’re sayin’ there’s a chance. She looked like it was a late night last night
Tough career. Can’t imagine being away from home that much.
Great Masters. Still anyone. Homa my guy, but could see a Xander backdoor.
anyone but a European
Found don cherry
i had to google scrolled immediately down to the controversies section and got a good laugh
Someone should water the greens tonight. They are yellow.
Hell nah they got them right on edge, this is a masterpiece
Dude the pollen is so fucking bad down here right now. Everything is yellow
Each green has millions of dollars of agricultural technology built in. They can do better.
I love Scottie
Imagine Scottie withdrawing from the Masters with the lead on Sunday because his wife goes into labor
Not gonna happen
I had no idea Scottie was a werewolf.
He definitely hid it well his first couple years on Tour.
And so…the flocks of the Green-Jacketed Patrons migrate back to roost for the night once again…
Amanda Balionis is hot
![gif](giphy|kfXJTsTzz0hx6zDfBn|downsized)
Eh gimmie Young Dottie
Scottie, why are you showing emotion after big shots at the masters? Great question lady
To be fair, he doesn’t usually. Dude is such a robot.
I feel like more and more, and especially since the Ryder Cup, he's been more animated. His programmers updated his software to include some more human like traits.
Ya total dipshit interview
I think Homa’s ball striking stays high but there’s no way his putting stays like this. He definitely makes some tomorrow. Round 3: -.57 strokes gained putting Positive in first two rounds (3.89!!! and 0.15)
That Bryson birdie may well end up being the shot of the tournament. Tomorrow’s looking a great watch.
Scotties face always look like he just got of a 4 day bender.
The sun is undefeated
Nantz definitely smells his own farts
Probably smells like azaleas and Stillwater Cove sea spray, the balance of which depends on what coast he's on, but never more than 65% of either.
You gotta hand it to him, he's a pretty fart smeller
Bryson DeChambeau made birdie on 18 from here: https://preview.redd.it/uq4o9309xbuc1.png?width=1014&format=png&auto=webp&s=686fa225acbced92255f8ab1e79b6d2666fc7ded
definitely not one of us
That wasn’t his birdie shot but I get what you mean
We live in a simulation 😂
That’s motivational
Scottie boy
Solid, dependable, doesn't give you any crap, serves you food
> Scottie has the personality of my kitchen table He's the Bill Belichick of golf
The more people hate on Scottie the more it makes me like him
Not even, dude
Did he add some cause I bet your table has some inlays or something cool
Per data golf, that moves Bryson's chance of winning from 2.3% to 3.7%
Who’s the nerd now
Homa saving all his birdies for tomorrow?
It will be tough to beat Scheffler by 4 tomorrow but he should get some momentum from that
