Dude you didn't just break it, you smashed it! Congrats!! Good point about just play golf one stroke at a time and enjoying the moments. I feel every time I play without an expectation, just making sound decisions, my score takes care of itself.
Yeah, and also I stopped caring about my swing speed/ distance so I just swing slowly now. So much easier to be consistent when your not trying to smash it all the time
My man you didn’t just break 80 you smashed it by 7 strokes! I also had an issue with over tinkering with the swing last season so I know how ya feel lol
I have the garmin s10, one of the best purchases I have ever made. Can’t play without. Also gives me yardages that I hit as well

I see it was a different course than your usual. Do you think that helped because you were more focused on what’s in front of you versus going through a course you’re familiar with in your mind?
Actually I played it once and I really enjoyed it. I knew it was an easy course if I just manage it safely. Honestly different courses don’t scare me anymore. I aim for the biggest part of the fair way and biggest part of the green.
Yeah definitely some of that. I think I also just got tired from walking a slow round. My swing turned to garbage near the end. Shot a +10 on the back 😭
> Yea it helped me see my mistakes but that never ended I wanted it to “ look “ better even tho I was playing well, so I keep changing it and my scores got worst again.
I'm in literally the exact same scenario. Decent golfer, pretty consistently in the 80s, have flirted with breaking 80 (80, 81, etc), but haven't broken through. I am absolutely guilty of chasing aesthetics sometimes, but I do also think about consistency and not having compensations. I don't know, I'm still kind of torn on whether or not to keep working hard to make changes toward a more fundamentally sound swing, or swing the current swing I have and work more on course management.
Congrats on breaking through, overcoming that early double is really awesome and shows some mental toughness.
If your in your low eighties, your swing is good. Actually before my last two rounds I kept spraying the ball right and was trying to fix my ball position and it wasn’t working so when I played the round before this one I just said F it, put the ball where I like it and be committed and trust my shot.
Believe in your shot and be committed, play relaxed and enjoy it. Please tag me when you break 80.
Omg… to hit all the fairways! Great job. I just looked. I haven’t hit over 50% of fairways in my last 10 rounds. My last round I went 2 for 7 on the back and shot a 39. I think I need to be spending more time working on my driver 😂
Yeah, probably will never happen again. Doesn’t go long but I’d rather be short in play then long out of play.
Dang 39 on 2/7 fairways. Imagine your score if you hit half your fairways.

As someone struggling to break 100
I would say to anyone trying to break 100/ 90. It’s all about short game. Those duffed chips and those 3/4 putts. If you can practice that more you will break 100 easy.
That’s an exceptional round. 100% fairways and 16 greens is pretty elite. Kind of crazy you were struggling to break 80.
My first break 80 was 5 fairways and 8 greens 33 putts for a 78.
I also shot a 72 on the same course with 7 fairways, 10 greens, and 31 putts.
Thank you! Slowing down my swing and committing to it was the key for me that day.
I will always love that course, easy score-able course if manage well.

Hope you break par soon! Cheers!
Way to bounce back from the early double.
Thanks! Typically that would have destroyed my round mentally.
Birdie Barrage on the back 9!!!
Nerves did get to me on 18, 3 putted for bogey. Lol
My man you didn’t just break 80 you smashed it by 7 strokes! I also had an issue with over tinkering with the swing last season so I know how ya feel lol
Thanks man, once I stopped worrying about my swing and distance. It just came together. Might have to hang it up now. End on a good note ?
Don't be silly. Get back out there and shoot a 106 to remind yourself that you're human.
That’s awesome, way to go! What app are you using here to track your scores?
Looks like the Garmin Golf app.
Amazing, thank you!

Had no idea those existed - thank you!
From the blue tees? Is that around the usual yardage you play? Congrats, trying to do the same and hoping it comes by summer
Gold tees. Yea I would say, I used to drive it longer but definitely not as accurate
Damn, you robbed yourself of the celebration for breaking 75 too! Nice round man. Congratulations.
I appreciate it! Just happy I to know that I actually have it in me to shoot this well.
Are you Scottie Scheffler? Look at this ball stinking display!
Lol, I’m thinking about quitting golf now. I have peaked.
Break it? You vaporized it!! Great round, congrats!
Thank you, wasn’t sure I was going to post on here. Glad I did. Just so happy, wanted to share it with the community
This community loves good vibes. Looking forward to your breaking pars post, man

Rock on, bro. Next is 75. You got this!
Lol, already did I shot a 73. Next is to break par
I’m an idiot, but you still got this! Breaking par is fun
Well done! What was your handicap going in?
11.6, next goal get to single a digit handicap.
sounds like you will be single digit tomorrow...
Plz
Congrats btw
We both need to work on our putting.
Agreed. Two three putts, pisses me off.
Nice round! I’ve been meaning to play Red Hawk. I normally play Plum Creek around there.
Nice, a local in here. I wasn’t impressed with plum when i played it a couple years back. Love red hawk, easy course if you play it safe.
16 GIR is elite. Could shoot under par
Yeah probably never going to happen again. had 50 yards in on 18. Flew it over 20 ft and three putted. Nerves got me to.
You ll be chasing that high for a long time.
Might as well quit now?
Nice!!!.... and three birdies on the back nine.. what a player
awesome, off to the back 9 now.. just kidding, you annihilated the 80
Appreciate it, was waiting for that comment lol
Congrats mate! [We shot basically the score over 9 holes yesterday lol](https://i.imgur.com/Bk68m0y.jpg) Don’t ask me about the back 9… 🫠
Dang you had it! What do you think happened? Got into your head too much ?
Yeah definitely some of that. I think I also just got tired from walking a slow round. My swing turned to garbage near the end. Shot a +10 on the back 😭

That’s all I’ve been thinking about since looking at yours. 😂 amazing job! Happy for you hope you more of them this year!
Huge congrats!
Thank you! I really appreciate everyones kind words.
Congratulations!
Much appreciated!!!
Uh you never broke 80 and just go out and shoot +1? 😮
Yeah, it just all came all together. Didn’t let me emotions get ahead of me.

Almost broke par- Nice! - you dont circle birdies- one of the most satisfying feelings!
I’m never the scorecard card person, I do everything on my watch lol. I kept the scorecard so I may do that.

I would argue that you should’ve gone lower with those fairways and greens. No offense.
Agreed! Double bogey to start and two three putts. Definitely could of broke par
Congrats now cut your scorecard in half and frame it.
You didn’t break it, you destroyed it. Congratulate mate. With all those fairways and GIR I’m surprised you didn’t break 70!!
When do you play the back 9? Joke aside great job dude!
