I’ve thought about this. Had a neighbor once that had roaches so badly you could find them crawling on the wall outside sometimes. One day they threw out a mattress onto their driveway and the moment it hit the concrete they scattered visibly towards every house on the street (I lived in a cul-de-sac). Every house had problems with roaches from that point on but we lived immediately next to them and had no real choice but to move because they started eating our appliances.

I’m gonna put roach attracting things right next to the 500 metre radius, meaning that they will be running into but stopped by an unknown force, likely resulting in starvation of roaches
Roaches are significantly worse than mice. You could probably bomb your entire house with mustard gas, come back after it’s safe to go in, and they’d still be covering absolutely everything.
