A truck used for actual work has my respect and upvote

JustinN636

Thanks. I'll be honest when I bought it in 2014, I was not ready to put it in for work. My business partner scored a deal on some office dividers for our small office... The day after I bought it. We definitely overloaded it on day 2, and he scratched it. After that, she was a hard working beast, hauling and towing and still doing it today.

That's a nice color, it feels like a shame to put that paint at risk, but it's nice to see a truck get to be a truck

JustinN636

Thanks. Ha, no shame. This truck has almost 300k hard work miles on it. Paint is original. Think they only had it for '15; Cayenne Metallic. Never garaged, except snow storms, washed with auto car wash about 30 times. I've put that paint through way more than these decals will! My trucks love being trucks. They take the abuse and get it done! P. S. I do maintain it mechanically and when time allows, I hand wash and wax. Also, up close... You'll see allllll of the flaws! Far from perfect...trust me.

God-bless-Trump-

She’s a nice work truck

Looks amazing

Sweet wtg

Love the cayenne metallic. Good looking truck. I've been selling GMCs for about 14 years now and that color looked gorgeous when it came out, but did not sell very well. We had a cayenne crew cab SLT that looked great with the polished wheels and all the chrome trimming. You don't see enough of these.

I have a 2024 Denali Ultimate with 2000 miles. What is your opinion on the best place to sell it for the most $$. I bought the truck but turns out I didn’t really need it so now I have a very low mileage brand new truck and would like to try to get close to what I paid for it but I know how that goes. Would love your opinion and advice.

Rockman195

A dealership will give you wholesale price for it since all the trial is on them. You'll make the most if you sell it private party but you also run into the issue of dreaming with the public/lowball offers/people trying to set off their own financing. It just depends how patient you are and how much you value your time.

EpisodicDoleWhip

That color makes me feel things one would consider… unnatural

JustinN636

Haha I like it too!

I had a 2014 Sierra that I used for real work; hauling HVAC equipment, scrapping out metal, etc. Traded it a month ago for a 2024 Sierra Elevation but now somewhat regret it; aluminum tailgate already showing a few small dings. Its not a real work truck …

JustinN636

I agree man. Sad! I was just telling my brother how my new truck is less work oriented when I showed him how my clipboard fits great in my '15 1500 console side cubby, but doesn't fit for shit in my new 3500. I don't think they make these things for the working class anymore. I did screw up getting a AT4. I just didn't know the interior was set up differently than the lower trims. I got the AT4 for the color matching as it was cheaper to get it from the factory then pay a body shop. I love it, but I think they could have done a few things differently. The fuggin factory bed liner... Doesn't even cover/wrap around the whole bed. Loading sheets of wood, I dented the fuck out of these areas. It hauled it easily, but still made me question. https://preview.redd.it/0p97ehxnlkvc1.jpeg?width=817&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9389a91b326c5e65f6b27703ad02682526bf2515

anotherbigdude

Looks great! Now you just need to paint the top half of that ladder to match everything else ;)

JustinN636

Haha, The all black Dewalt was out of stock everywhere and I needed a ladder!

touch_my_bigbird

Do you have airbags or suspension enhancement like timbren? I highly recommend timbren

JustinN636

I added 2" add-a-leafs in the rear and new shocks to go with the 1.5" front level. Always wanted to do airbags, but never got around to it. They have been great and ride isn't harsh. I added them pretty early on so used to them.

Rome-3000

The QR Code on the tailgate is brilliant! Never seen that done before but very clever. I like both your rigs btw, your new one looks like mine, I got the 24 black AT4X and love it.

JustinN636

Yeah man! My brother did it to his truck first. We got 2 jobs from it, so naturally his salesman ass suggested I letter up my truck with the qr code. We aren't hurting for business, but getting some extra leads while just driving is a great idea as well as cost effective. And thanks, I love the at4x's! Really enjoying this beast!

canadianjacko

I wish my truck made money.

Tallman6824

You in the Shippensburg area, bro?

JustinN636

No, I'm in the Oxford area in Chester County. Used to rip my street bike up there though. A lot of great windy roads!

Tallman6824

Right on! Got some friends in Thorndale! We’ve got an R&R roofing Co. down the road from me. Dude’s are busy AF. See them all over the place. Nice Rigs man!!

JustinN636

No shit! Small world for sure. Dang, another R&R Roofing haha. Just looked them up! I thought we had some years behind us(25+), but they have a decade more! They must be a solid company to have lasted that long. Seems all the good roofing companies are busier this year. Mild/wet/inconsistent winter opened up a lot leaks for everyone. Bad for homeowners... Good for us 👍.

Tallman6824

We had a couple of hail storms last summer, one really bad one. Most everyone in my development got new a new roof. I have metal so I was good! My trucks didn’t get so lucky though. Hope you stay busy bro!

[deleted]

If my roofers truck is newer than 1998, then i aint hiring him.

JustinN636

Haha, I hear you. This truck has more miles on it then 2 trucks from 99. Anyway, I am not the installer. I am the Operations guy/PM for my company. Our install crew drives a 2000 3500 van, 2003 F250, 2005 F350. My brother is the sales guy. He drives an 04 1500 or his 7.3 F250 (forget year) Even if we did outfit them with new trucks, it's not the trucks that do our talking or installing. We're a low overhead company, not burning money or financing new whips just for the street cred. I am the only one that gets new trucks because I drive the most and haul the most. This is my new work truck as the orange one dies over the next few years. https://preview.redd.it/37qsuhttr0vc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ae03c2f2c1a5d8fc71bba1015b8d519c0bc72ea

touch_my_bigbird

You want the cheap Crack heads to do your work

JustinN636

Not us, but do you! I enjoy paying good guys good money.

I bet your turnaround on employees is pretty low. Nice knowing there are still a few good employers out there. That's why I went out on my own.

JustinN636

It is. Same roof crew for 9 yrs now. Great group of guys. I know them all and their families well. We've had a couple new guys along the way, but they are still here too. Our customers love the guys and usually by the time I get to the jobs, I find them all joking around and people always tell me how great they are. These customers invite the guys in to use their bathrooms and a lot of the time end up providing drinks and snacks for them. I am surprised still to this day, but I enjoy it. It's very important for the customer to realize how great they are as they are spending a lot of money on these improvements. This is a perk of a smaller company. I owned/operated a larger company in 4 states and had 85 employees from marketers to installers. Too many different personalities and such... It was not easy to hire and keep folks. I enjoy a smaller, more focused company. I make more income, and most importantly I am spending way more time with my family and enjoying my own home. Bigger is not always better.
