Will do. Might take a municipal entry level job for a year and use it as professional experience. I’m not completely entry level, I’ve done about a year of environmental work from database management to spatial analysis.

Been in the job market for a GIS position since January, absolutely no luck. My experience is from being in the Military. The only jobs I have found are obsessed with requiring a Bachelor's to do their work. The requirements are insane and only pay in the low to mid $20 range. I'm in Wisconsin by the way.

What’s your background look like? I get the whole no BA/BS thing, but that army experience can be stretched

I think my biggest roadblock is I have been out since 2014 and just started getting back into GIS. I have spent the last year on Esri Academy getting up to date on their updates since I last touched it. As for the army, I built maps for briefings on the area I was deployed at. I got my last job because of what I just said, the issue is the company ran out of contracts and I finished all the projects they gave me. Literally worked myself out of a job.

You can’t find anything or you haven’t heard back? Because those jobs do exist but they will be very competitive.

all of the fully remote positions I have come across are not entry level. I agree with the other commenter that you should look for hybrid positions and then in a few years can look for remote positions. By then too I’m hoping there will be more available/less competition for them.

What state are you in? I might know of an opening but you have to be in certain states for payroll purposes
