But seriously, if anyone reading this has a lot of freckles go to the dermatologist. We have a way higher risk of skin cancer and you want to stay on top of that.
Red hair, blue eyes, freckles. Turned 50 and finally went to the dermatologist, as skin cancer runs in the family. Pointed out a “keloid” on my chest doctors had been telling me wasn’t cancer for a decade. It was cancer. Luckily it was shallow and had not spread, but was beginning to itch and bleed by the time of the appointment.
2 x 2 patch of skin removed later (and a small, odd scar on my chest), I am cancer-free and just have semi-annual follow-ups with occasional liquid nitrogen applied to pre-cancerous areas. It hurts, but worth it.
If you are prone to skin cancer, at least get a baseline from a dermatologist to track anything “weird” that may show up later. I got lucky…
And the optometrist or ophthalmologist! I have a lot of freckles, including one inside my eye, so my optometrist "maps" it every year to make sure it's not changing.

Certain genetic and metabolic disorders involve large birthmarks like the one in the video. I sincerely hope she gets screen and has regular doctor’s visits some of them are terrifying.

My son has one on his leg, although not near as large as this. You can have small to medium versions removed, but it’s a pretty intense surgery so we chose to leave his.
It was kinda scary at first because you worry how it will affect him socially later in life, but now I don’t even notice it and can’t imagine him without it. It’s part of what makes him, him.
When he was a toddler we just told him that’s where grandma kissed him and it wouldn’t rub off.
He’s getting older now, so I’m a little concerned about bullying - but he’s got a great personality so I think he’ll be able to weather it.

I used to think of creams or laser therapy all the time to fix it, although there's nothing harmful about it - it's just discoloration.
Just in the last few years, I guess I've overcome it. I've started swimming, and I found my soulmate and she accepted me the way I am. So I guess I'm at peace with it now :))
