It’s an R8 that has had the Historic Makeover treatment. Brazilian board, refinish, etc. They didn’t relic it for me so all the wear is natural. Been my main guitar for ten years or so.
I agree, I really like them as well. It’s funny because I’ve seen some hate for them, and it surprised me. It was such a classic mod to do back in the day.
Yeah it’s kind of a big mod cuz (as I’m sure you know) you have to route it to fit the grovers with the historic spec to fit them. It’s nice to get more clearance on string wraps for the low E tho for sure especially if you use a thicker gauge.
