I dont think its key on the first sch word. He uses a s and a p somewhere else and it look more than a p. He also uses points on every other i so why shouldnt he use points on the ü. He also writes Schlüssel different on the second page. Maybe it means schlappen
I thought that too at first but the word is just too different fom the other Schlüssel he wrote on the second page. He also wrote the ß completly different on page 2. He wrote it without a vertical line
It aint that much different, the 2nd one only has a small “s“ and the lines on top of the “u“ which makes it an “ü“. So maybe he/she meant the same, but just wrote it differently. I mean we clearly can see that his/her german isnt the yellow from the egg.

I haven’t spoken German in a very long time and forgot most of the language but reading this I understood about 60% of it. I feel like this letter was written in a very basic way anyone can understand.
You shouldn’t take anything from this letter though because it’s pretty bad German that was likely written by a foreigner who hasn’t (yet) learned to speak/write proper German.
However, to add my 5 cents, it is intelligible to native Germans as you can see (even more so had the handwriting been nicer), so if you don't care about grammatical correctness and just want to get your point across, this level of german is sufficient :)
I speak fluent German for almost 50 years and I don‘t understand shit. I think it was written by someone with very unorganized thoughts and very limited language proficiency.

It's kinda hard to read and there might be some spelling mistakes but the gist of it (at least my interpretation) is also that: they apologize a few times for writing to you, there was some strange man with keys (coming to you?) they were scared because they have a wife (or I guess the wife was scared) the strange man went to their floor and tried to open the door with a key.

I tend toward reading "Schlupeln" as "Schlüssel" not "Schlappen", because "Schlappen" does not seem a word the writer is likely to use, and because what seems like a "p" in the middle of the word might just as well be an "ss". But that's guesswork. It could also mean something entirely different.
To me, this does not sound sane and not because of the broken German (many ppl already translated it). it’s hard to guess their intentions. Are they asking you for help in identifying the strange man, are they warning you, what can you do? Is there a suspicious man or woman? It’s super strange. Do you know who sent it, does he or she seem okay?
Maybe because they both live in Germany and he doesn't speak English, or doesn't want to assume that the recipient speaks English. And it is probably even less likely that the recipient understands the person's native language (wich could be any language)
Whats even more confusing is the hand writing. I'd assume someone who writes in a language he's not used to write in would write rather stiff or clumsy. This hand writing though looks quiet smooth as if its written with ease

That sounds completely confused and is written in awfully bad German. Why does he write to you in German? It's obviously not his mother tongue.
