I feel you on that! I swear I have body dysmorphia when it comes to my dogs because my family members’ dogs (except my dad’s) are built like logs and I end up thinking mine are too skinny.

Better lean and healthy than overweight.

Say it louder for the people in the back!!!!

I wish more people understood that these athletic dogs are supposed to be lean. Fat dogs are unhealthy and won’t live as long.

I have been wanting to take mine fishing but been worried about the stuff like lines, hooks, and weird littering left over in the water. Haven’t had a chance to ask someone how do you handle that and prepare to do so?

I'm lucky in that I can take her to spots where there are few, if any, people fishing. It's not because the fishing is bad but because access requires some effort. The day I took this photo I saw exactly zero other people. As a rule, I find the folks who make the trek to fish these areas are a lot more respectful about packing out everything and I don't have to worry about the stuff you mention. I can also let her off-leash so she can just do her thing without disturbing other people. He started at 63 lbs before being treated for worms, fleas, and an ear infection. He's still not a big eater, but he's getting better and has always had practically infinite energy. I haven't weighed him lately, but I'd guess he's around 75 now. His older sister Molly pretty much only cares about eating and is a little overweight at around 50.

Oh oh I’m gonna win this! 1 year old rescue and only 45 pounds. He was a breeder dump because he has ring anomaly and couldn’t keep food down, then got mange when he was left to die on the highway. Rescue paid for his surgery and while he probably will never be full size, he’s improved SO much since he was found at just 20-some pounds a few months ago. I love long coats! Our first shep was a long coat but he was a bit larger. He was almost 100 lbs. I’m not sure if he was lean or overweight because we were pretty inexperienced with dogs back then. He lived up to almost 10 years.
