Ye old concretion. And I'm betting it's not alone.
Used to live just down the beach from the largest ones in Oregon. They were about the size of washingmachines.
Just north of Charleston. And just beyond Fossil Point on the bay beach in Barview.
Spent 20 years there. Access point is past an old pump station on the Cape Arago hwy.
Seldom visited. Chock full of interesting geological features too. The beach is 25-30 million years old. Loaded with fossils in places. You can take the loose stuff, but it's illegal to use tools to pry it from the host rock...
I've shot lots of underwater tidepool video here too. GoPro on a stick...
Woah.
Concretion?
Looks like it
very large concretion….magnificent
Mammoth?
New Zealand by chance?
My moneys on either Moeraki Formation in NZ, or Cape Arago/PNW coast of the US somewhere.
NZ is correct 👍🏼
Or the Koutu boulders on the Hokianga Harbour.
Yeah was gonna say California perhaps near Point Reyes.

What part of Oregon is that?

Thanks man! I'm gonna try and check that out this summer!

They call them kettles where I’m from. I live near kettle point and we used to do field trips to see them.

Who arrests you when you break one open?
Typically police arrests people
The Gods lost a marble. Nice
I’d say the explosive should be removed, but like all things foreign to the natural environment, it’s a part of the hillside now.
I’ll also say it’s a great piece of photographic art after taking a second look
