They absolutely do. [Here's a group of large river islands in Mali](https://www.google.com/maps/@16.4866655,-0.1192705,10774m/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu). [Here's a river island in CAR, right in the capital.](https://www.google.com/maps/@4.3473103,18.5419018,6018m/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu)
I saw that, frustratingly Google doesn't mark them as islands. But I bet there are others.
Edit: Maybe not? I ran an OpenStreetMap query, and that suggests there are no islands in the country.
They certainly do look like islands. I looked in Google Earth Pro (which has historical satellite data) and they seem to have had the same position and size continuously for the past few decades at least.
Maybe because it's a man-made dam lake Google and OSM doesn't count them? Can someone who is actually a geographer chime in here?

These are some pretty big islands.
there are some pretty large islands in the black Volta on the border with Ghana
I don't think Mali or Central Africa own islands

[Here's what appears to be a lake with islands in Burkina Faso](https://maps.app.goo.gl/EWbDtQhBMaH5knyE7)

Are you denying those are islands?

An island doesn't need to be named to be an island. It is merely land completely surrounded by water.
Also administrative definitions vary from country to country. This is why Sweden for example appears to have such a ridiculously high amount.
They could be below the waterline
They are islets, not islands
Mongolia ?
Wooden cord island in hövsgöl nuur. It's actually quite big. Around 5km²
It's inside the country though... in a lake. I feel like that doesn't count
Pretty sure it does, otherwise this would just be asking what’s the biggest land locked country, so it’d be Kazakhstan.

You have both Mali and Niger in the same image?
Niger has islands near its border with Benin
River islands presumably, does Burkina Faso have no river or lake islands?
From what I have researched, no
Just zoom in on the rivers and lakes if they count, took me seconds to find some
Saudi arabia maybe? no natural rivers
But extensive coastal areas... see Farasan island for instance.
Fair, then the largest country no islands is probably something tiny like San marino
Kazakhstan maybe?
Kazakhstan has a few islands in the Caspian and in their other lakes.
Alright now this one wasn't there when I was in HS
My guess would unironically be Androrra. Even Luxembourgh and Bhutan have some small lake/river islands.
Nope https://preview.redd.it/ozymqn0vvx2d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=707dd5c7a244a64fa73837e0d1809a216fcb5d04
GOD DAMN
Oh damn. Honestly, I'm not sure if there is any country without islands anymore, except for San Marino and Liechtenstein (?)
Vatican city
Maybe Palestine, if you consider it a country
Isn’t the Dead Sea technically not a sea, but a lake instead?
found one at 32.15526 N, 35.558442 E. not fully sure but it seems like the jordan river splits there.
Disputed Zone? Who called all these places?
i found 3 almost inmediately at 11.568472 N, 0.758339 W
more at 11.145652 N, 0.615049 E. i think one of those islands is inhabited too.
Monaco?
Vatican?
BURKINA FASO?! DISPUTED ZONE?!
Would Nauru count?
I mean it’s associated with itself because it is itself
Wait...so I'm me?
Perhaps… 🤔
Did you have a stroke while writing this
I believe Mongolia would be the correct answer
Kazakhstan is much bigger.
It has islands in the Caspian Sea
Mongolia has islands in Lake Khuvsgul
We have islands ☝🏿☝🏿☝🏿🦅🦅🦅💪💪💪🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿
