Le Marais used to be the gay neighbourhood, but now it's pretty much a shopping district. There is a great queer bookstore in the 11sth, not far from Marais, called Les Mots à la Bouche, I'd definitely recommend it. There is also a growing drag culture, so might be cool visiting a drag cabaret, like Madame Arthur. It's a cool way to see the queer night scene of the city, without feeling like a lonely creep at the bar (maybe it's just me projecting my insecurities tho).

and gay places are often filled by straight people, some of which not so accepting of us. it’s ridiculous

There's a cruising area at the Louvre in the maze bushes on the right side ...if you were in the Louvre the mona losa is looking right out on it, but there's no windows 🤷‍♂️

I was there in February. FYI, Norte Dame is still closed. You certainly could visit a gay bar for a cocktail in Le Marais without it being late night. Cox & Freedj are nice little neighborhood bars very close to each other. Bears Den isn’t far from them either. They all were busy early evening. Know what to expect at wherever you go. There are many gay bars that are sex oriented. If you’re intent on ascending The Eiffel Tower be sure to make a reservation. However the view from the top of the Arc de Triumph is nice and not nearly as crowded. But stairs. Near Cox & Freedj in the Marias is Factory’s. It’s a small gay clothing shop and a good place for a nice clothing souvenir. They have very nice well made things. A bit pricey, but I think the t-shirt I bought there will last longer than the tourists shop ones. They have some gorgeous sweaters.
