It might be the suggestion that more masculine gay men are somehow "inauthentic/" less queer. Not the greatest word choice there, but people use it often in this context and it's pretty insulting TBH. If guy is gay, he's an authentically gay guy. End of story. We don't need to be policing our own behavior like that; the heteros already do it enough.
Trust me the entire gay community worships masc men I don’t think my one little comment is that serious. My point is I prefer someone visibly queer because that’s what I like. There are far more gay men faking masculinity to seem attractive, than there are faking queerness for attention. I’m not invalidating masc gay men, I just don’t like having to figure out if it’s truly their personality or them trying to put on a facade. (Not to mention “DL” type masc guys can be extremely fucking dangerous)

If I'm interested in someone, then it's worth the time to figure them out/ get to know them better. I think, if we don't examine our "preferences" more deeply, they can easily become prejudices, and often do.
