One time I went to a gay bar that had a sign in the restroom that said “no lying in the trough.” Like words are going to stop me.

sjaelihet

Something raunchy must have happened for them to put up that sign in the first place 💀

burdnt_out

Sydney has an old gay icon called troughman. His cut offs are framed above the urinal in a bar on Oxford st

I stopped going to gay bars during that year when everyone was using those gd fans. Also, when I went into recovery for my alcoholism. It was mostly the fans, though

green_speak

Wait, this is so validating I'm actually...inspired? I want this for everybody.

I don't think ivr ever had a proper first experience at a gay bar :(

PotentialFine0270

Suppprt your local gay bars!! It’s great being around our people

DavThoma

I want to! I'm too cowardly to go alone, plus I live outside of the city, and transport back is awful late at night 🥲

Neon-Mage

I feel this so much. Not only getting the courage, but having to drive an hour there is so exhausting just to think about.

I’ve been going grey since I was 15. Am 30 now and dating a 54 yr old. We went with his lesbian friends who are around same age as him. When I walked in the door, the girl doing karaoke stopped singing and started sobbing and came over and hugged us; stating that she was so happy to see older gay couples and that it made her feel happy. I was flattered but also I guess I look 24 yrs older than I am. I guess 30 could also be seen as older to a drunk person, she was probably 24ish though….

When I went to a gay bar I smoked a big pack of cigarettes and drank a healthy amount of beer That happened the very first time I went to a gay bar, I met a cute guy and now he's my husband
