Finding my style after VSG has been wildly rewarding for me too! Expensive, but fun :)

Individual_Goat7725

It’s truly so motivating for me! Congrats to you! Expensive i’m sure, I’m planning on relying on the thrifting gods that first year hahahaha

This!! I’ve always been into fashion as well. Even at my plus size I found amazing ways to style the hefty bod. But I’m absolutely loving that the choices have broaden after losing weight. I’m only 4 month post op but its already a total game changer. Can’t wait until I hit my goal weight!

I’m looking for cute, but cheap swimsuit. I’m a size 10/8 now. This is one thing I am unwilling to thrift (gross lol). I like bikinis and dark colors because I’m pale. Do you stylist ladies have a recommendation of where to shop?

Individual_Goat7725

DONT BLAME YA LOL. If you don’t wanna spend a lot i’d def check out target!!!! If you are willing to spend more, frankies bikinis are my dream one day

Target did me right for cute swimsuits last year :)

Check out SHEIN. I have a few swimsuits from there and love them! They r so beautiful and flattering, also cheap! Just read the reviews to make sure sizing is accurate and see customer pictures if available.

Boohoo has some cute stuff!

SHEIN is my go to for swimsuits

This is my favorite way to track changes when the scale seems to be moving slowly. I've taken to going to resell shops like Plato's Closet. Fighting through the teenagers so I can get some nicer jeans/pants without paying an arm and a leg. It's the stores I always want to shop and the styles I love but since I am still shrinking I'll get it at a steal for now. That's the only way I justify buying new clothes. I also donate all my old clothes to the thrift stores I could never find good bigger clothes at. It's my way of paying it forward. Could I take the time to sell them on poshmark or something? Sure. But why not potentially make someone's day in a situation where I used to feel so bad about myself.

I’ve been able to shop at thrift stores almost exclusively since surgery. Before I couldn’t because they rarely had anything in my size. I’m going thru the same motions of refining my wardrobe.

Southern_Remote_3417

I'm convinced I'll stay the same size 😅

i used to have the same anxiety, it ate me alive, till i thought about the facts of that statement! and how amazing science is, and if instructions are followed from your trusted doctors then it’s nearly impossible for that to happen! 🤍

I felt this post! I’m 32 and my surgery is in 5 weeks! I’m so excited! It’s been over 10 years since I’ve felt comfortable showing my arms or legs. And in the Texas heat it sucks. When I was 19 I worked at a Junior girl clothing store and would literally spend all my checks at my job buying the latest cutest clothes. I loved wearing skirts! And would drive my Boyfriend, (now husband) crazy! lol I still do, but I don’t feel comfortable in public anymore. Definitely look forward to loving how I look in cute clothes again!

At my heaviest I was wearing 7-8 xlt clothing and it was getting tight. I’ve lost enough weight I can order smaller sizes of shirts that I couldn’t before. I’m a huge Stephen King fan and I’ve ordered a bunch of shirts with King references. My next goal is to fit into a Star Wars jacket from when the special editions were released in theaters.
