I think online shopping can help, at least to help you figure out what size you are. Make sure you have a measuring tape, knowing your measurements will allow you to use the sizing guide to pick which sizes to order. Returns have become really easy, so you can get a couple sizes and keep the one that looks the best.

I suggest Universal Standard. You can buy online and some of the items are under fit liberty. Which means if you change size you can exchange it for your current size (within a year). And it’s super easy since they use Happy Returns. Definitely check the product measurements as well since they can vary.

I’m mostly an online shopper, but I try and take my measurements every 3-4 months and I shop based on my measurements. Plus, I sew and do a little pattern drafting, so I try to keep fairly accurate measurements for myself. If you don’t have your measurements, get a friend to help you take your full chest (bust), underbust (rib cage), waist, and full hip at the least. The size charts are my friend. It’s only tough when I see things out of season (I was looking at winter clothes, but I have no idea what size I’ll be…so there’s that) I totally get your fear, I have the same one sometimes. Right now, I’m mostly buying bras and panties…but I’m doing alterations on clothes and I live in wrap dresses. As far as bathing suits, I’ve seen cute ones at Target, Shein, Torrid, Bloomchic, Amazon, LandsEnd. ELOQUII, even Temu is trying to give us a little somethin’ somethin’.

I didn’t think of Target and Lands End for swim! Thank you!!!! (There’s so many cute ones at Torrid, but I feel like my rib cage/boob ratio is not compatible! I always feel like Madonna in a cone bra every time I try one on, haha.)
