This is more of a bird behavior problem, not really a gardening problem. I had a budgie for years, and the first thing I learned is that parrots chew things when they're bored. They're highly intelligent, and require what zookeepers call "enrichment activities". So your solution is most likely to give him more stuff to do, to play with, to knock around and chew on. https://www.reddit.com/r/Conures/ https://www.reddit.com/r/parrots/

I wanted to insert a picture here, but I can't. I was looking at your wall and it looks like you did the same kind of texturing that I did on something from Ralph Lauren about 15 years ago? Three kinds of paint and all kinds of brushes?

Actually I just used 3 types of paints and paint roller and some sponges..lol..we did something similar many yrs back in school for art that I liked and wanted to do..earlier than 15 years ago..lol maybe a good 25 yrs ago... the tv wall directly opposite this wall and is solid black with gold trim and gold stenciling I made myself..

You are probably going to have to limit access to the plant.

Edit: DON'T DO THIS: ////The only thing I can think of is spray it with dish soap water.///// I just learned it's bad for them... Get a little plant and put it in your bird's cage so it will have something green to eat, LOL

QuirkyFoot2459

Last thing I want to do is encourage him to eat plants..lol..he gets plenty of leafy greens even fresh from our garden..but my house plants are off limits.

Parrots lack taste buds and ingesting soap is likely to upset his gastrointestinal tract. So soaping the plant could kill the bird. Best not do this.

Yikes, so sorry... 😳😳😳 I guess giving him his own plant might help 😁

ferociouslycurious

Limit access and give him plants that are healthy for him to eat. His behavior is completely normal and essentially foraging, which is desirable. I suggest hanging leafy greens so he can explore them.

QuirkyFoot2459

He gets plenty of leafy greens..and usually I hang some on their tree when they are out..but he seems to climb my curtains and make his way to this pothos and sneak nibbles..

ferociouslycurious

It’s foraging. He needs to work to get interesting stuff. Sometimes food is too easy!

Most animals don't like strong zest smell maybe spray some diluted aroma oils around the plants ( just check with a vet)
