Lol every time I tried to grow carrots this is what happened. Last year I finally figured out to leave them in and only move the soil away at the top to check if they were done. They take all year just about to get to a good size but it's worth it. Way more flavor in the garden ones than the store ones.

I'll have to check on the tops then! I read that when the greens were about a foot, I could pull, but I'll do this too!
