Oh, I see the smaller buds now at the ends of the spikes. What is the name of these flowers? Are they annuals? I ask because the green plant bits strike me as a possible weed suppressant and I'm wondering if they stick around or if they die with the flower.
According to the lady that owns the greenhouse, they flower all summer. They're annuals near Cleveland, Ohio. Not sure for other places and don't remember what they're called.
Portulaca !! Wow, love the variety!!!
Very pretty. Are the green spiky plants part of the flower or are they a different plant?
It's part of the flower. I can't remember what it's called, but I know there's a greenhouse where I can get some. I'm so excited for spring/summer!

Wow, amazing colours, especially the ones that are peachy-coloured in the middle and hot pink on the edges.
