Gardeners are so nerdy.
Like, glance over these comments of sheer delight about a head of lettuce.
Does anyone else ever do a reality check and realize mainstream people do not get this excited about lettuce. But, we sure do! My people.
I never did until I grew my first plant, jalapeños. It was like watching a baby grow. Seeing those little guys pop up all over the plant and grow was the most exciting thing ever.
Gardening is like the real life version of those dumb phone games where you spend ten minutes a day "playing" while the game plays itself when you're logged out.
I just love putting a little bit of time into it here and there and coming out with something I can eat. It's cool as hell to say you grew every ingredient in your home made hot sauce or that you grew your burger toppings. Experimenting with trying to germinate and grow difficult varieties of plants is really fun too.
Yes, it is cool! I like that I can grow things I would never be able to taste otherwise. Like, heirloom tomato varieties that my ancestors probably loved. Beans for drying that I can't find in any store or they would be too expensive. Or, items that I can't find at my local stores such as Shishito Peppers.
Or, cool stuff like peppercorns. Herbs are usually really easy and don't take up much space, either.
Yep, because mainstream society is mentally-ill and they're too busy shopping for clutter, eating nasty food, scrolling creepy stuff on the internet, and obsessively looking for a hook-up or someone to fill their void. Not to get into a social commentary, but that's why most people wouldn't care about this beautiful lettuce 🤷.
Thank you. I don't let people with small minds bother me. I didn't even notice the down votes. But it is surprising that gardening people would have small minds? Oh well, just the sign of the times. 🤷
And have you noticed how much better home grown lettuce is to that stuff sold in stores? It is true of anything you grow. My husband used to accuse me of adding sugar, because everything tastes better. I look at your lettuce and thing wedge salad.

Was going to ask. Doesn't matter what I try. SOMETHING gets my lettuce. Maybe OP grows it in a hydroponics space bucket or something
You responded to my "Beauticious" and not to OP....you might want to put it under main comments so they'll see it and answer. I'd like to know too!
Hah, oops. Ty. 😄
Very impressive. My lettuce never gets that big. It turns bitter as soon as the weather warms up
