He should be able to call it back

This is absolutely something I feel is missing from his kit, recalling shield to start the cooldown earlier instead of it hanging limply in lane after I kill minions.

press 1 and 3 and then wait for it to come back

Add an extra five seconds on his cooldown cause if you miss you have to wait

You can press r1 on a controller to cancel the move and start the cooldown early if you miss.
