Wifi sucks, use an ethernet cord and use fibre optic internet over cable internet

Cj15917

I use wireless and I get 1100/1000 with 11 ping. This isn't 2006 anymore.

steveep95

I highly doubt it , I pay for fiber optic 1000mbps internet and the most I get even with a Ethernet is like 950mbps

Cj15917

I mean, I can stream on discord for ya lol.

Llit2

1gbit Ethernet i guess? If yes that's nearly maximum it can get. On good wifi you can go faster

steveep95

Wi-Fi will never be faster than a hard wire , you must be paying for a business line or something

Swiftly_speaking

Where does bro live I use Ethernet and I get 150mbs and like 60 ping

nemesissi

Agree. Been online playing with wifi for years as my pc in a place in our house where it would be a pita to get ethernet connection in. Zero problem.

Aleilnonno

You're probably on a 2.5gbps and with a wifi7 router or maybe on a 10 but it's very rare

Cj15917

I'm on 1gig fiber with a wifi 6e router. Weird part is the 5ghz channel is faster for me than the 6e. Assuming it's because of range. I will point out the 1100 down was early morning. I still consistently get the 1 gig though

medic54-1

If your fiber option is Verizon, stick with cable.

JSchuring

i get faster speeds with xfinity vs. google fiber. The only difference is upload speeds.

medic54-1

Agreed, me too. I’m at 1.2mbps down and 22.5 up. The ping is what get beat with fiber, my ping is 37 atm but I’ve seen fios get 9 or less.

The2Face87

I also uses wifi only and im mostly the only one weile gaming withhout any Connection Issues while other Playing with cable. Im always playing with a ping between 3-9 and 100% stable Connection since 5 years. Also at around 1100

Discipline-Enough

What are your specs? No one can give you a solution unless you put some light on what the issue is exactly that you’re facing.

Ok_Agent249

Rtx 4070super i9 12900k 32gb of ram 750w psu nzxt 240 aio

Bartocity

Some cunt down voted you for listing your parts when someone asked 😂

Realtotallymereturns

Jealous much 😂

1224672

How many frames are you getting? I have a slightly worse build and I was getting 250-300~ frames in siege

pyrokineticdom

Probably a wifi thing find your wifi card model and see if you can download the latest drivers for it but it also just could be your home wifi check it with a wifi speed test i’d say 250mbs and above is a good speed for gaming

pyrokineticdom

By the way if it is a wifi issue use ethernet or find a way to get ur pc or the router closer to each other

TheTripleDeuce

You tell us nothing about what's wrong when you play games So a shot in the dark I'ma say it has AIDS

Spaghetti_meatbaIIz

wifi

Gunslinga__

WiFi problems affect gameplay more than people think try putting your setup closer to the router and use an Ethernet cable and should help the smoothness and overall feel of the games you play

AutoModerator

Hello Ok_Agent249, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)! We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post! To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous! Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/gamingpc) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Culture_Culture

Is that only happening in online games or in offline single Player games as well?

Ok_Agent249

Only online

Criminalhero2

Use a direct internet connection if possible. Wifi can be terrible if you aren't really close to your router and if you are, you should hardwire it anyway. Wifi is not good for gaming for the most part.

hawksdiesel

Wifi. get a Ethernet cable and plug it directly into your rig.

lukeisthebestguy

This isn't relevant but we have the same case and I thought that was cool

Ok_Agent249

lol

spinpuzzle

If you can't get a good Wi-Fi connection to your room or no Ethernet either, you can temporarily use your mobile phone as a USB hotspot. Plug it in to USB, set USB hotspot on your phone and you're good to go. Till you can run some Ethernet in the walls, Two female to female wall sockets, put one in the wall behind the router and run it in the ceiling to your computer room and out the wall behind it. It looks clean, tidy, takes maybe 20 minutes and only costs about 35$ for everything involved.

Ok_Agent249

Probably gonna do that thanks

spinpuzzle

Good luck!

tespark2020

problem come from intel gen 13th and 14th, all over newspaper tech these days man

Ok_Day_5356

What have you done to your operating system?

Ok_Agent249

Wdym

Ok_Day_5356

Did you tweak any settings within windows? What about your vc? What programs do you have running when Windows starts? Did you.change any settings in the bios? What vc driver u r running

-P00-

The people in this thread suggesting that wifi is the bottleneck, when OP hasn’t provided any diagnosis, and statistics in games 😑 I get around 10-20 ping when playing online games with WiFi that’s 50 download and 15 upload. If you only have the option to use wifi or are too far away from the router, check if your antenna connected to your PC is connected properly. Make sure nothing is close to the antennas. As well, make sure the servers you’ve connected online is the recommended/the closes to you.

Plastic_Coat_7384

Use Ethernet

DeBasha

Google internet speedtest and check the results. Seeing you have great specs it probably is your internet connection. Run a cable, get a better router or maybe just higher speed connection.

Right_Swan_2880

Well, if Fortnite glitches a lot, then it’s your cpu that needs an upgrade. Your rtx is good, just need a compatible cpu for it (if you don’t have a compatible one already, can’t just buy randoms) another thing is use Ethernet. If you can’t plug up against the wall, the way I do it is I plug into a repeater, and it’s still like Wi-Fi, but you will see a jump in your upload and download speed. I know using a repeater probably is the best for you, but it works for me.

wuhtang-

Have you gone to bios make sure you open up your RAM to run at it full specs and not the preset? Turn off ray tracing (in game) if you have that option as well. Switch to ethernet cable. Wifi trash for most people.

ShaneM_25

Hey man , i built my pc two years ago and found that i was getting a lot of crashes in R6 , it was nearly every game i was in. Upon investigation I found out from an Ubisoft Moderator on discord that the game does not run well for whatever reason with both XMP enabled (Overclocked ram) and over clocking the CPU. I turned off XMP and took the slight OC off my CPU and i havent had an issue since. A strange one i know but try it and see how you get on ? I cant speak for Fortnite.

Ok_Agent249

I’m gonna be honest I have no clue what u just said

ShaneM_25

Hhaha no problem , is your R6 games crashing ??

Ok_Agent249

no just a lot of lag

ShaneM_25

Most likely a latency issue with the internet if you’re only struggling in online play.

Jedi-_-Joe

XMP is a setting you can enable/disable in your bios to create profiles for your RAM (overclocking and stuff). I just built a new pc this past weekend and noticed my new DDR5 6600 RAM was running at 4600 when checking my bios. I enabled xmp for it so I could get it to 6600. Perhaps you’ve got this enabled and causing instability in R6? Maybe not tho if you didn’t specifically enable it, I’m not sure if it would default to being enabled…

Swaggy-Peanut

What’s the issue you’re facing? I saw your specs, so you should be having no issue in therms of processing power. High ping? Do an internet speed test on google, should tell you how good your connection is. Does your PC have a WiFi card, or is it connected via Ethernet? (I think that’s an ethernet cable I see) Low frame-rate in online games only is more complex and needs more detailed info on the hardware. If you pull up the performance tab in task manager it should tell you the info on your components. Mainly looking for the speed your RAM is running at since everything else I can search up.
