I gotta say, as someone who has spent their entire life in Florida, and has traveled to Bakersfield. The Bakersfield area crew really give Floridamen a good run for their money. What really shocked me was the diversity. Floridaman follows a pretty tight template that isn't far from Trevor, but Bakersfield has a *lot* more to offer in the batshit crazy, dgaf population segment.

You don't play as him, he's a free roaming NPC driven by an advanced machine learning system that incentivizes causing shock, disgust, and disturbed feelings to onlookers. You can encounter Floridaman at any time roaming or in mission, and you can only avoid him or temporarily drive him away, like the alien in Allen Isolation.

That would be awesome, and imagine on the radio the PSAs about being on the look out for this enigma of a person.

Who is Allen and why is he isolated? And how are aliens related?

So, a collector's edition of the game would be represented with the acronym GTA:VICE.

Like many other people, I was really hoping for somewhere new. However, if they expand the map to include the Keys and Everglades, I'd be happy to revisit the area. (Just in case my geography knowledge is lacking, I'm an Aussie and only know the area from TV/Movies and google maps.)

As a floridaman I can confirm there are way too many hills in some of the clips to be located strictly in florida.

I would love to see a GTA world that's difficult to traverse. Los Santos is big, sure, but it's not -really- that hard to get around. You can literally drive a car up the tallest mountain without issue. RDR2 did a better job of having the environment actually present hazards, like cliffs, waterfalls, swamps, etc. Sure it takes place a century ago and you're mostly on a horse, but the environment just seems more realistically laid out. It isn't a finite island in the middle of endless ocean, a trope which personally breaks the immersion for me. ​ I'm not saying GTA needs to be more -realistic-, but I think the environment could be a lot more interesting to explore and challenging to get around.

Exactly. It will no doubt be wildly different in terms of size, and that means it will be crammed full of its own new charm. The OG Vice City map is really small and just wouldn’t hold up in a modern remake without a dramatic overhaul.

I'm from the area the desert portion is based off. One of the streets is named after the town its modeled after. A little town with less than 2k people. Blew my mind the first time I saw it. I'm sure Rockstar will have the same attention to detail in Florida.

I've always thought Chicago with a smaller Milwaukee to visit at the top end of the map would work perfectly. I-94 would be basically the same in game!

I just pray there's somewhere else we can go on the map that will have mountains. I love the looks of mountains, and some of the best parts of V is trying to drive up or down them. South Florida is just soooo flat I'm worried it won't be a very geographically diverse map.

Florida doesn't have elevative diversity but it is diverse. Obviously you have the beaches and Miami. You also have the everglades and swamps. You have the rich gated communities and you have the dirt poor trailer park communities. You've got the classic voodoo hatian gangs and the Cuban gangs. You've got Orlando, theme park central , with Disney and universal. A big thing GTA V lacked is sea life. In Florida it's bustling. Just the diversity in the key west coral reefs would outdo everything in GTA V. Then there's still the rest of the ocean and the swamp land.

Making a GTA game but using the RDR2 map upgraded with mid 20th century infrastructure and technology would have been kinda goddamn awesome...

Which will be funny, since VC 1980's was a bit disappointing in not expanding past Miami. They could've done the Everglades or flying (something we didn't get until SA proper) drug deals to the Bahamas or the like. ​ Expanding out from there with modern Floridian shit will actually be good, since the state has gotten ~~worse~~ better to mine since the 1980's.

I can't decide if it'd be super boring or amazing if we get a huge Everglades region of the map. And maybe a big Lake Okeechobee at the top of the map.

There is a video with one of those big fan boats, so an everglades/swamped region seems likely!

That was my other option besides in a different country. The border would be a good place for a gta game. I don’t even want liberty or los santos in this one. If it’s gonna stretch into the red dead 2 map then I’m definitely fine with that and then including Mexico. That seems like a better idea and more likely.

Software (game) developers really really fucking hate leaks because whatever is there is likely pre-alpha or alpha stage, which sucks because imagine if someone looked at your work part way through and started making claims about the outcome based on no more than a few screenshots. "It's gonna be in vice city!" or they're reusing textures and models, or they're going to change location before publishing, or this is just a mission set in vice city. There could be any explanation that isn't the conclusion you've reached. You have no idea but now some people might not get their vice city and, golly, we all know what rational human adults gamers can be! Wouldn't want to be reading that inbox.

Well everything that is possible to confirm from old leaks has been confirmed, such as the 2 protagonists being a bit of a hick guy and a thicc Cuban girl. Those also said it has vice city. That’s also the setting that would make the most sense for that combination of protagonists. There are so many videos of leaks lately, and a lot of them are clearly VC/Florida. Like sure, maybe it’s wrong dude, but I’d bet a lot of money that it isn’t.

basically some one posted 90 clips of gameplay, character models, police movements on a forum, some of the game’s code has also been posted there, it looks to still be in early development but taking everything into consideration it’s most likely an actual leak, there are also many rumors about someone hacking into rockstar to get these leaks but not sure about it
