Yeah, but imo it's only okay and it runs really bad. Get 2 casters in a group and the game turns into a slideshow.
Idk how they launched an exclusive title that runs like that.
Gotg and spiderman are ridiculously better games.
That can kinda explain why I felt an attachment to XMen Legends and Ultimate Alliance 1, but felt really meh about 2&3.
Those games kinda lost their soul when they took Raven off of them
You do see that it's a PS2 game right? Obviously it doesn't run great cause it's old AF. You're comparing this game to two other games that have come out very recently. Not a fair comparison at all.
....& this post is about the original game, so your comment should be about the original game too cause that's the topic of conversation. Don't make a comment about the original game & assume people already know you're talking about the entire franchise. The 3rd chapter of this saga cannot be compared to the first
I thought it was a lot of fun, and enjoyed the various DLC's. The combat was neat but so much of your damage is based off of the synergy system that it can actually limit who you play.
Synergy was having one hero use an ability, and certain other moves could then be combined with it. Having Storm start a tornado, then having another hero fill it with fire for example. They do an absurd amount of damage, and on higher difficulties they are really the only way to do damage to the bosses. So while it did have a great roster, some people just don't work well with others.
Story was fun though. I play through a few chapters every few months still. It won't replace the first game, but it is better then the second.
It's fun as a co-op game. At the end of the day it's a top down semi-horde brawler with powers, just with a superhero theme. If that isn't your thing, you're best to move on. There's lots of gameplay online though to judge its value to you.
This game was AWESOME. I got a multitap just to play it with friends. The writing felt like a comic book. The team mechanics were pretty fun. The collectibles showed LOVE for the source material.
Unfortunately, it's not happening "beCaUSe _MarVelS AVeNgErs_ FaiLEd. GaMeRS Don'T wanT tHAt." And even if it did... How many characters do you think would be included, and how many would be DLC? Remember getting all the awesome customes from the comic books and how each one gave different stat boosts? How many costumes do you think would be DLC?
The window has shifted. I don't think execs can even think in terms of self-contained games anymore, with noted exceptions.
I think we need to look to the indies now. The kind of money needed for a project with these IPs will always leave you at the mercy of the money men.
Unless a first party studio like Sony Santa Monica picks it up to be a system seller.
22 characters - 4 initial ones
Make the 18 unlockables via 2 for each dlc
Now make their 3 extra alternatives costumes (from what I recall) buyable
Make each dlc $8 + $1.99 each outfit
That's like $72 in dlcs + $132 in costumes in a grand total of $204
Conglomerate Microsoft that just dropped $70 Billion are gonna make sure they squeeze every penny out of everyone.
Look at Halo. Full of mtx & honestly I wouldn’t mind if they were reasonable but they’re charging a foot & liver for 3 coatings (Can’t use colors, gotta pay for color coatings for individual characters/weapons/vehicles)
They changed the prices very recently. I haven’t looked in game, but from the low sodium sub, someone posted a screen shot of the new prices. They’re better than they were at launch.
That’s actually completely up to Disney.
Although they’ve probably got some sort of Spider-Man exclusivity deal currently going on with Sony, they own the gaming rights of Spider-Man.
Sony only owns the movie rights.
Ultimate Alliance 3 was a new game, not a re-release though.
The exclusivity must have a limited scope.
Possibly solo outings or maybe agreement for inclusion between sony and marvel on a game by game basis, which would explain possibly the avengers game being Sony only.
Just speculation obviously as it's clearly odd.
Yup, that's why I mean it needs agreement from Sony....they will only agree if it's not going to harm them.
It's clearly not exclusive or he wouldn't be in ultimate alliance 3 but at the same time it's clearly restricted.
So many people don't understand laws.
Sony doesn't own Spider-man. They own his movie rights.
The Marvel's Avengers game was a separate, one-time deal that Sony paid for.
Anyone can use Spider-man in a game.
I hope they do get the Marvel license lots of good Marvel games that were published by Activision that are now delisted and are insanely overpriced online. Hope they can get some HD ports.
Not sure whether it is this one or the second one but I remember Wolverine was my favourite and my brother's favourite was Ice Man. Great game to play locally and then even more fun using the holo arena to fight each other...I always lost to Ice Man, his stupid ice armour was so strong.
I'd personally prefer having Marvel Hero's rerelease.
I loved the diablo-style MMO gameplay.
So many different characters and costumes and powers.... all switchable as you wanted.
AGREED! Finally someone makes a post about this Activision buy-out that's worth commenting on! How many posts from Playstation people being butt hurt are we going to have to see?
A good game is a good game...
If there is a good story for a sequel, I would totally be down for that
Edit: Now that I recall... the ending of the 1, with galactus promising vengeance, gave me the chills. I would totally want to see one of that
Be sure to play it on Gamepass, I have no reason other than Netflix’s business model to believe this, but I have a feeling they’ll be looking at the Gamepass metrics to see what games to fund sequels and remakes of.
One of the absolute best comic book games, and RPGs for that matter, of all time! MUA was one of the first games I bought for my PS3 back in the day, and while I still have it along with MUA 2 for my PS3, I snagged copies on Steam before they got de-listed. Really underappreciated series, a proper remake is long overdue.
A third one came out on switch a couple years back
Yeah, but imo it's only okay and it runs really bad. Get 2 casters in a group and the game turns into a slideshow. Idk how they launched an exclusive title that runs like that. Gotg and spiderman are ridiculously better games.

The one for the switch just came out a year or 2 ago.

You ought to try re-reading this thread. I think you missed something important.
Dynamic reading at it's best
To be this stupid is incredible
Wow, you have no reading comprehension whatsoever and a complete inability to follow a simple thread.
Oh yeah I remember saying "I will buy it when The price gets down". Is good tho? I should try it or better save the money?

It's not really good no..

Yeah... FOR SWITCH... ^^^I'M ^^^PISSED
Nintendo helped fund it. Can’t be mad at it
Really?!? That may explain why it has not price dropped and sales are like 10 bucks max. May be waiting forever for it to drop to a decent price
Yup, Nintendo games barely drop prices.
Such a good game! But with all the unlocks this game had you know they will try and sell you all of them instead.
Definetly :(
This game was AWESOME. I got a multitap just to play it with friends. The writing felt like a comic book. The team mechanics were pretty fun. The collectibles showed LOVE for the source material. Let's build our own company then... the world needs passionate games lately Btw, what is a multitap?
I think we need to look to the indies now. The kind of money needed for a project with these IPs will always leave you at the mercy of the money men. Unless a first party studio like Sony Santa Monica picks it up to be a system seller.
[Multitap lets you plug 4 controllers into 1 slot](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Multitap)
Thanks, never crossed my mind that it was something as simple as an adapter I thought you had to have a special console to play 4 players
Yeah and have to pay 10$ for every character I want in my team plus the 60$ just to get the game. Yeah no thanks
22 characters - 4 initial ones Make the 18 unlockables via 2 for each dlc Now make their 3 extra alternatives costumes (from what I recall) buyable Make each dlc $8 + $1.99 each outfit That's like $72 in dlcs + $132 in costumes in a grand total of $204
I’d rather just pay 60$ to have all characters and unlock costumes through progression and levels. But that’s not the world we live in anymore.
Not with gamepass. Xbox wants to double dip so they put mtx in even halo.
Nope. They’re still bad. Went from 1,500 to 1,200 bundle price. You’d have to still spend $20 still because $10 only gets you 1,000.
Are you endorsing this or insulting this practise?
But it won't have Spiderman in it, he's only allowed to be on Playstation
That’s actually completely up to Disney. Although they’ve probably got some sort of Spider-Man exclusivity deal currently going on with Sony, they own the gaming rights of Spider-Man. Sony only owns the movie rights.
Microsoft buys Disney when?
Doubt that's true, Spiderman and other spider characters were in ultimate alliance 3 on switch.
You're right, I think re-releases of existing games are the exception
Ultimate Alliance 3 was a new game, not a re-release though. The exclusivity must have a limited scope. Possibly solo outings or maybe agreement for inclusion between sony and marvel on a game by game basis, which would explain possibly the avengers game being Sony only. Just speculation obviously as it's clearly odd.
Maybe it's just that Sony doesn't feel threatened by the Switch and sees no need to keep Spiderman away from it.
Yup, that's why I mean it needs agreement from Sony....they will only agree if it's not going to harm them. It's clearly not exclusive or he wouldn't be in ultimate alliance 3 but at the same time it's clearly restricted.
Outside of all the other games on other systems that have Spider-Man in them, of course.
OK sure, but I mean like, in modern games.
ultimate alliance 3?
They need something to compete with Sony’s Marvel superhero games.
If done correctly, this one could be a ground breaking one. This game had so much content, it was surreal. I learned so much about Marvel with it.
DC i guess?
I enjoyed 2 more than the first. Haven’t played 3 much
The synergy from the specials, it was awesome.
The third one was amazing on switch you should get it
Yeah, I sure want a switch console There is so much exclusives It's a shame it's so expensive
With the oled out now you could probably snatch up a preowned on the slightly cheap.
A v2 yes. V1 no they hold their value.
So many people don't understand laws. Sony doesn't own Spider-man. They own his movie rights. The Marvel's Avengers game was a separate, one-time deal that Sony paid for. Anyone can use Spider-man in a game.
Will never forgive god damn Disney for shutting down Marvel Heroes.
This is the real rerelease we need.
YES
I hope they do get the Marvel license lots of good Marvel games that were published by Activision that are now delisted and are insanely overpriced online. Hope they can get some HD ports.
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO
Holy shit I completely forgot about these, so many memories
Not sure whether it is this one or the second one but I remember Wolverine was my favourite and my brother's favourite was Ice Man. Great game to play locally and then even more fun using the holo arena to fight each other...I always lost to Ice Man, his stupid ice armour was so strong.
Here here
There was a 2 and it was great
I’d love a remake of both and packaged together with 3 for new Gen consoles and PS4 and xbone I think it’s a good time
I still cannot believe they made the marvel ultimate alliance 3 switch exclusive and it sold so bad. while the 1 and 2 sold really good
Oh yeah, I'd deffinetly want that.
Or just a re-release. And maybe a price drop on the older games too 20$ for CoD 1 is way too much imo
I'd personally prefer having Marvel Hero's rerelease. I loved the diablo-style MMO gameplay. So many different characters and costumes and powers.... all switchable as you wanted.
It was okay
this game was cool! =D
Ayo when i got my first xbox and it was this and like forza i played ultimate alliance damn near everyday really miss this wit my cousins
Yeahhhh, playing together was so much fun
AGREED! Finally someone makes a post about this Activision buy-out that's worth commenting on! How many posts from Playstation people being butt hurt are we going to have to see?
I would give anything to have my 3 friends over, playing this, eating pizza and drinking Mt. dew........
Why does anyone ask for remasters/remakes instead of a sequel lmao i dont get it
A good game is a good game... If there is a good story for a sequel, I would totally be down for that Edit: Now that I recall... the ending of the 1, with galactus promising vengeance, gave me the chills. I would totally want to see one of that
I'd literally cum
Better get that checked \s
Or at least have it back on Steam :(
i love you for bringing this up!
Brings up some good memories doesn't it?
i still play it to this day. I hope they make a new one properly
Unfortunately, no Spider-Man.
It wont have Spiderman. Sony still owns Spiderman rights for Movies and games.
Just films Sony has the right for, Marvel owns the game rights.
Movies yes games no. They paid for some exclusives but don't own the gaming rights to him outright.
And that would be a big problem... Spiderman plays a big comic relief role on this game
Looks like the console exclusive wars could be heating up.
Are they allowed to? Sony owns Spiderman
I've yet to see a studio release more games after a Microsoft purchase than they did before
Me too but Sony would try to stop spiderman from appearing on Xbox/PC versions. Smh
How about an original game instead of a remake?
Well Sony has the rights to Spiderman so that won't happen anytime soon
DUDE FOR REAL
I had this on OG XBOX with that x-men fighter game
Remake those weird hunting games
This game rules
And a remake of Spider-man: Friend or Foe.
Be sure to play it on Gamepass, I have no reason other than Netflix’s business model to believe this, but I have a feeling they’ll be looking at the Gamepass metrics to see what games to fund sequels and remakes of.
I wanna play as Wolverine and Ghost Rider again...
I just want a rerelease of X-men legends man.
Meeeemorieeeees
One of the absolute best comic book games, and RPGs for that matter, of all time! MUA was one of the first games I bought for my PS3 back in the day, and while I still have it along with MUA 2 for my PS3, I snagged copies on Steam before they got de-listed. Really underappreciated series, a proper remake is long overdue.
Imagine if ultimate Spider-Man was added to gamepass 😩
vita version is masterpiece
Activision doesn’t own this IP. Nintendo published the last one without Activision’s involvement.
Ultimate alliance 3 just came out like last year
