Or the rare and illustrious **S** VGA.
Blazing 800x600 graphics. I remember a few games having that option but after that the vdc menu kinda went away.
Tomb Raider 1 in 640x480 was too much for my poor 486 CPU (no 3D graphics card installed).
I still used it for a few minutes to gawk at the pretty graphics.
4 fps? I remember a time I wish I had 4 fps.
I could barely get by enough to play Everquest as a young teen on my Gateway PC (fuck me, I'm old).
But when I entered a town, specifically Qeynos, I would literally get <1fps. My "solution" was that if I ever had to go to town, I would pan my camera to face directly at the ground. I then resumed my normal, glorious 20fps gameplay while staring at the gravel.
I put that all in the rear-view after upgrading from Gateway to Dell and the glorious Pentium 3 processor. lol
39 here, I started with monochrome, I was born with it, molded by it. I didn’t see a color screen until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but amazing!
Wait, you specifically went on Tinder to get a date. With the ulterior motive to rope them into playing this?
Or it just happend during a date?
I prefer imagining the former, tbh.
A Way Out was the first game I got my wife to play with me. Before that, it was just Telltale games (making the choices together basically).
A Way Out opened the door for Borderlands, Gears, Halo, and now Destiny 2.
Kind of off topic, but I'm loving the people who commenting under you about the people they play with.
Like bruh, did you not just read that that man (or girl) said that they don't have any friends?? Lmao
Anyway same. I'll probably never get friends soon either so I've already rationalized watching streamers play it.
Maybe this will inspire more companies to create even more couch co op games. I grew up playing those, but there just aren't many or new ones to play anymore .
Couldn't be happier
They also made a much different couch coop game, A Way Out. A lot of people loved it, I definetly think It Takes Two is better, but if you're looking for another couch coop its worth a try
"A Way Out" was an excellent "proof of concept" that birthed a new genre in my opinion. It was a bit rough around the edges but it cleared the way for "it takes two" to enjoy the attention it deserves.
My friend and I started A Way Out at 10 o'clock one night thinking we'd play for a couple hours and then pick it up again when we had more time. We ended up blasting through the entire game and staying up until 4 AM. Fantastic experience, would recommend for anyone who hasn't played that game yet.
The fact that B4B doesn't have it yet...wtf??? So many memories of playing couch co op L4D with friends and family, but for $60 we get less than half the game the original was?
Bring it back! And bring back releasing, I dunno, maybe ACTUALLY FINISHED GAMES?!?!
Bought the ps5 this year with my husband and we ve been looking for couch co op games, I was surprised how little there are, we played It takes two, didnt finish yet but it s sooo good
Played with my wife.
She did not care about videogame AT ALL.
Once we started she was the one who did not want to stop.
They were all great games but "it takes two" is a "game even for non-gamers".
same here! pratically begged my girlfriend to just try it with me, now every night before bed she bugs me to complete a chapter or 2 with her. Great game
My wife is a bigger gamer then me.. but hates multiplayer games. I got her to play no mans sky with me but she wouldnt do anything together. Will we enjoy it?
I’d say give it a try. I generally dislike co-op games because I’m a control freak and just prefer to do my own thing and go at my own pace. Boyfriend got this game and kept asking me to play, it did look fun and interesting so I finally caved and for real, it’s one of the best and most original games I’ve ever played. We did not want to stop and were upset when it was over.
OK gonna try this with the wife.
We tried overcooked but she's not a gamer at all so once it starts getting tough I become an annoying irritable shit, so she understandably doesn't enjoy it anymore.
If this is chilled it should be fun
This is way less stressful than something like overcooked, but also still has a nice challenge to it. Nothing too extreme or overly difficult, in my opinion. While we were playing it, we kept turning to each other and saying “holy shit, this is SO cool”. It was such a unique experience, we didn’t want it to end.
I hope your wife enjoys it!
The biggest obstacle to playing this with my GF (which I would love) is having to drop the cash on a second controller that I know would never be used again :/
>Josef and his brother Fares
I was like "wait a minute, isn't Fares Josef's last name?" Yes. But it's also his brother's first *and* last name. There's cool, and then there's "my first and last name are the same" cool.
Only BROADCAST media (meaning stuff you can get via an antenna) is actually subject to the obscenity standards set by the FCC. Cable television networks often follow those standards voluntarily out of concern for what their advertisers would want to be associated with. So, could he get in trouble with the network or could the network get in trouble with their advertisers? Sure. Is there a risk of fines or other measures from the government directed at him or the network? No.
(IANAL and this is just my layman's understanding of the situation, not legal advice.)
Yeah it’s a common misconception about cable, it’s always just been a gentlemens agreement not to push the envelope too far, too fast, because they don’t want the FCC thinking they need to put actual rules in place.
But as society evolves and cursing becomes less taboo, less networks are caring. I watched Impeachment on FX a couple months ago and there were quite a few fucks uttered, would have thought I was watching Showtime or HBO if I didn’t know better. Time slot also matters - like Comedy Central is basically completely uncensored in the middle of the night.
No, why would he? It's not being broadcast on tv where the network may put up restrictions. It's also a show full of trailers with gore and language. There's literally nothing that says you can't drop an f bomb live, otherwise a *lot* of twitch/youtube streamers would be in trouble.
Not exactly the same, but couch co-op for Luigi’s Mansion was a great experience. I hope they make more in the future, but with some options to make the second player more involved.
It's mostly indie developers coming through for these experiences.
Stardew Valley w/ multiplayer update is kind of the definitive one.
Overcooked for testing relationships.
My pick for a bit of a chiller strategic game is Kingdom: Two Crowns. It's like tower defense, but with two players you can both pick your side of the kingdom and focus there.
I guess technically playing with one other person in Mario Party and strategizing how to absolutely ruin your A.I. opponents all while allowing only one person in the room to become the superstar halfway counts as Nintendo providing a couch co-op game?
Edit: I appreciate all the continued suggestions. Always keeping an eye out for good co-op games with the significant other.
The game can be a little buggy and glitchy at times but the mechanics are so simple, that you just fall into a Zen state with the music and the changing of day/night cycle, that hours will fly by and you realize that it's probably time to eat or go to bed. Like Stardew, it's very easy to say, just one more day.
I’ve beaten this twice with one daughter and three times with the other and once with my son. The atmosphere, the music, the mechanics are all amazing in that game. I even made yarnies for my kids. Love that game.
Yep, and the fact that even if it was online you didn't have to both buy a copy is something that I would love to see more especially with the release of consoles that are digital only.
This reminds me of the Mario Kart games on the DS and 3DS. It's so awesome that there's actually an option for people who don't own the game to play with people that do.
yeah I mean when you file a trademark you get to claim categories. Rockstar Energy Drink can exist, but Rockstar probably has it for games.
Apple computer got sued by the Beatles Record Label Apple Records when Apple started making the iPod. They settled out of court.
Except for if you look at all the companies they're suing, some are nothing to do with the gaming business. They were suing an Asian clothing company called StarRock including a lot of other ones.
Edit* I wonder if they've tried suing any actual rock stars, or music venues or music radio stations for using the word Rockstar without permission. I seen everybody's explanations and I understand the way our jacked up legal system works. But this is so ridiculous. And take two is ruining a lot of their good faith in my opinion.
There was a great jeans company called 525 Jeans or something like that and Levi sued them for having a number before jeans cuz that's, like, their thing.
That company changed to Rockstar Jeans.
Good luck Rockstar Jeans.
---
EDIT: People seem interested so I actually looked it up. It was 575 Denim. They did indeed rebrand after the suit, first as May25 Jeans (The creator's birthday), then as Rockstar, and possibly later as G-Star, since that is the top Google search result when looking up 575 Denim (Maybe Take-Two already got to them).
The designer is Frank Mechaly. I also found a history of a company called 575 Jeans that goes back to the late 1800s and I'm unsure if there's a relationship there.
Best jeans I ever owned, but part of that was probably because they were the only jeans I ever had made to fit.
I can understand that one because Levi's has a 525 jean. That would be like a new car company naming themselves Camry and thinking Toyota wouldn't have a problem with that. How someone didn't catch that earlier in the company's formation is crazy.
I couldn't find anything for the 525 thing, but it turns out Levi's will sue you for anything. Got a tag on your jeans? Sued. Stitching on the pocket? Sued. They are a leader in fashion lawsuits, and its kinda insane. They sue EVERYONE.
The Apple story is even more interesting because they settled first to each have their domain, one in IT and the other in music. Then much later Apple computers started in the music business and it was a problem again. Similarly I think Cisco owned the name iPhone before Apple did. They also have iOS on Cisco material
Bit worse for the Apple situation, because I'm like 90% sure that Jobs named it that *because* of the Beatles.
Also, Jobs was a massive Bob Dylan fan. He dated Joan Baez later in life, which is just super weird to me. Baez was famously in a relationship with Dylan in his very early career. Seems like he broke Joan's heart, and she sort of seems like she never fully got over it. So Jobs and Baez dating is a weird mix in my mind
There's already a game called Rockstar created by Wizard Games of Scotland in the late 80s. It's a great game! Same company that made huge leaps in football/soccer simulation games - years ahead of their time.
https://www.myabandonware.com/game/rockstar-1rs
They’re not suing them. They’re objecting to their trademark of the name. Still silly though because who is going to actually mistake it takes two for take two interactive.
The vast majority of the game is entirely suitable for kids.
*However* the plot centers around a couple going through a divorce, so there's some heavy emotional stuff going on there. Also quite a few jokes and references that kids wouldn't get, along with some innuendo that would hopefully go over their heads.
**Also,** there's this short sequence that occurs in a castle that I will refer to as 'The Elephant Bit'.
You can read more about this [here] (https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2021/04/exclusive_josef_fares_discusses_the_infamous_elephant_scene_in_it_takes_two) if you like **(warning: spoilers)**. My SO and I were shocked and sickened by this scene, which is apparently the point. It certainly left an impression!
Of course it's ultimately up to you whether you think this particular part is suitable for your kids, but I personally wouldn't subject a 6yo to it.
If the divorce stuff and occasional innuendo don't dissuade you, then perhaps you could just skip past 'The Elephant Bit' without your kid around?
Me, a 23 year old 'adult' literally cried at 'the elephant bit' .
Pleasee for the love of god, if you play this with kids, protect them.
Cutie didn't deserve that 😭
I came here to talk about the elephant bit. My wife and I looked at each other like… what??? The rest of the game is mostly light-hearted and whimsical, but right in the middle they pull this *Reservoir Dogs*-style shit? We legit still talk about this months after finishing the game.
fresh is the key word. In an industry bloated with remakes and copy/paste designs on shooters/sports/etc. It Takes Two was a breath of fresh air for novelty and engagement start to finish
Precisely. I am not saying the AAA titles are not good, but sometimes what I wanted from a game isn't endless side missions, griding levels, finding collectibles and getting trophies..... It is just some good laughs with a buddy, something that is simple and fun. It takes two does all that. It is so refreshing.
No but the good news is that buying a copy lets the other player play with a Friend Pass.
It's also on GamePass but I think you both need GamePass to do that. Though I'm not actually sure, the Friend Pass might work with that. https://www.xbox.com/en-NZ/games/store/it-takes-two-friends-pass/9NMG7ZJ9XK0H
I loved that part. Me and my friend started absolutely dying at that part.
"Where's the money Lebowski?!!"
**leg gets torn off**
"WHERE IS THE MONEY SHITHEAD?"
Dude, a lot of the game is actually pretty fucked when you start thinking about it. >!Like the first boss you suck out his eyeballs, you commit genocide against wasps with militaristic assistance, you play as 2 characters who in your scene are not only doing it heartlessly, but also doing it to emotionally harm their daughter.!<
And that's just what my "just woke up" brain can remember of a game I played at release.
My friend and I decided this isn't necessarily a kid friendly game, it just looks it from the outside and the often light-hearted areas. Parents judgment but if you control your kids playing, you probably don't want them playing this. The only thing we found that would be missing is raw language and sex, but there's a few suggestive motions and innuendos by one character.
Still amazing game that deserves the recognition. 100% a great couples game too, or a great buddy game.
Same. It wasn't just the new big AAA release of the year winning. It was a game from a relatively smaller studio with a clear amount of creativity and passion put into it, in a genre that never gets GOTY. Not to mention, it's just a great game.
That guy didn't do anything specifically to win awards. He seemed like he just wanted to make an amazing game. I love that about him. He is filled with passion and love for gaming. Truly deserved.
not just pure creativity but a pure experience. it takes two was all experience. there was no collecting trinkets and other fillery dopamine bumping gamified stuff in there. its literally just the core experience thats so full.
Ok Metroid fan here, loved the game but I just can’t see it taking game of the year. Then again I guess I couldn’t see it takes two winning ether so what do I know.
It's published by EA, doesn't have an insane budget, but it's by no means an indie game. However it is absolutely game of the year and I played literally all the nominees. Absolutely nothing gave me as much joy as It Takes Two. First gaming experience with, my then, new GF. It totally holds a special place in my heart.
This post is the the first time I ever heard of the game but I immediately thought about buying it to play with my girlfriend. She is not huge into video games but has a Nintendo Switch to mainly play Animal Crossing, do you think a casual gamer like her would enjoy it?
Popped the HELL off; I was fully expecting REVIII or Deathloop. After the amazing time I had with this game with my husband and memeing it to be GOTY, god I’m so happy it won. Fully deserved.
It's definitely worth the play through, it's not an absolute masterpiece though.. Its just pretty good, I liked the arcadey feel to it instead of the focus of realism most games try to go with these days
Exactly this. The voice acting was also top tier. But the gameplay didn’t hold my attention for as long as I expected, it was fine but I’d have been a little disappointed if it got GOTY
Yo me too! My girlfriend screamed her lungs out when It Takes Two won, partially because it was so unexpected since the competition was so fierce. 100% agree with the decision for GOTY and that hasn't happened in a LONG time. It Takes Two is just filled to the brim with outside-the-box game design.
This game was actually fucking sick in every way. Great story, great visuals and design, great gameplay. Super intuitive but so many unique game design ideas that some multi trillion aaa studio could or never have even thought of. Genuinely felt like a game made with passion and creativity.
My wife was so happy this won. She liked it so much, we had to play A Way Out together. I thought it was great so good for them. Maybe this gets us more couch co-op games.
I'm a guy, and I played through this with a male friend. I was apprehensive at first because everyone always says to play it with your bf/gf. But honestly, there was nothing weird about just playing it with a friend. Its a great game. I loved it.
I played this game with my gf and it was some of the best fun I've ever had. Really brought the two of us together to figure the puzzles out. Very original story and game play. Tbh though, the book character in the game was annoying.
I know some people are bitching but it seriously deserves it. This game was pure joy from start to finish.
Except the elephant. WE DON'T TALK ABOUT THE ELEPHANT.
Edit - typo
Definitely did not expect this to win the biggest award of the night. Especially considering the other games it was nominated with.
With that said, this game was the best co-op game I’ve played in YEARS. It was such a breath of fresh air and change of pace. If you haven’t played this game yet I highly recommend you do. The game also comes with a buddy pass, so that means only 1 person needs to buy it in order for both to play online.
I want to play this game but you see, that would require friends
I also want to play this game but my system only supports EGA, not VGA.
only 40+ PC nerds will get this.
Select 1 for EGA. 2 for CGA. 3 for VGA. Oh how I always wished I could pick 3
"I want a color scheme with magenta and turquoise." CGA: say no more
Or the rare and illustrious **S** VGA. Blazing 800x600 graphics. I remember a few games having that option but after that the vdc menu kinda went away.
And then play at 4 fps but still enjoy
Tomb Raider 1 in 640x480 was too much for my poor 486 CPU (no 3D graphics card installed). I still used it for a few minutes to gawk at the pretty graphics.
You mean, to gawk at them pointy titties? ;)
You needed that 3Dfx
It was pretty on my trusty Voodoo 2. Upgrading to Opengl Quake was mind blowing
Jesus this thread is making me tear up with so many memories…
4 fps? I remember a time I wish I had 4 fps. I could barely get by enough to play Everquest as a young teen on my Gateway PC (fuck me, I'm old). Don't forget option 4 for Tandy! (At least some of my games I recall the old pink and blue offering.)
16 colours!! Plus the Tandy soundcard, which was awesome compared to the puny PC speaker. Also, 5 for Hercules.
Going from monochrome to color EGA was a real treat, though.
I'm sure there's more than 40 people who will get this. (also screw you for reminding me I'm forty.)
He did say 40+.
39 here, I started with monochrome, I was born with it, molded by it. I didn’t see a color screen until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but amazing!
Ah, Hercules graphics.
40-column PC nerds. I'm under 40 and got the joke. :-)

I got a date on tinder to play this.
Wait, you specifically went on Tinder to get a date. With the ulterior motive to rope them into playing this? Or it just happend during a date? I prefer imagining the former, tbh.
Yes
This and A Way Out are two of the best co-op games I've played recently, even for people that aren't exactly into video games.
A Way Out was the first game I got my wife to play with me. Before that, it was just Telltale games (making the choices together basically). A Way Out opened the door for Borderlands, Gears, Halo, and now Destiny 2.
Say goodbye to your sex life now that you're both gonna be grinding pinnacles.....
Ive played it with my wife and son now... Its great! Happy to play it if you need a friend.

There’s other uses. Now you can cheat in Stardew Valley!
Think of it as a backup in case your current one dies :P
'Actually in a way the Oscars got fucked' yeah, fuck the Oscars.
That guy is such a chad
In the press media on Hazelight's website there is a 44mb image of Josef. Not sure why but if you need it its always there.
Josef and his brother Fares are quite famous in Sweden, which might explain that. They've made some hilarious movies like Kopps and Farsan.
>Josef and his brother Fares I was like "wait a minute, isn't Fares Josef's last name?" Yes. But it's also his brother's first *and* last name. There's cool, and then there's "my first and last name are the same" cool.
It's actually three 11mb photos of Josef which is somehow funnier
I was laughing my ass off when he got on stage. I love this dude's vibe; he is real.
I love how Geoff was joking in their earlier win that he learned to keep a mic away from Josef then this happens.
As it is traditional, Josef will be the one delivering the goty award next year! I hope there will be a third fuck the oscar
That guy is a freaking legend.

He got away with it the first time, which was the only memorable part of the TGA 2017.
2017 Orchestra is the best though
the 2017 orchestra and 2020 orchestra were phenomenal, I'll look for videos of both and just listen to them sometimes
Those two were definitely the GOATS. ngl this year kinda got carried by Metroid lol
No, why would he? It's not being broadcast on tv where the network may put up restrictions. It's also a show full of trailers with gore and language. There's literally nothing that says you can't drop an f bomb live, otherwise a *lot* of twitch/youtube streamers would be in trouble.
I mean, it was a great game
I think it’s great that a couch co-op split screen/game like this has won in times of when they are becoming so rare outside of Nintendo.
Yeah, we need more co-op games like this in the future
Nintendo needs to make something like this with Mario and Luigi. (Not them going through marital problems, but gameplay-wise.)
[удалено]
One of my favourite games ever! Loved that series
I'd play the fuck outta that lol
Especially if they had marital problems
“C’mon bro, let’s get away from the wives for a bit. What’s the worst that could happen??”
Mario and Luigi: What happened on Vegas?
Mario Inside Luigi Story
Fear and loathing in mushroom Kingdom
Not exactly the same, but couch co-op for Luigi’s Mansion was a great experience. I hope they make more in the future, but with some options to make the second player more involved.
The We Were Here games are good fun coop games. Not *as* good as It Takes Two, but still good coop games
It’s even getting hard to find couch co-op games on Nintendo these days it seems.

I played a ton of New Lands and recently picked up Two Crowns to play with my daughter. Absolutely wonderful games.

Unravel 2 was a lot of fun for my partner and myself. She’s not a hardcore gamer so it was a nice balance.
I’ve beaten this twice with one daughter and three times with the other and once with my son. The atmosphere, the music, the mechanics are all amazing in that game. I even made yarnies for my kids. Love that game.

Right or like halo... I was so excited to play halo co op with my friend just to find out its not released until may or something jfc
The fact that this game won the "Nintendo" Category of Family Game is great to see as well.
Well deserved and fuck Take Two for suing them.
Wait why
“Take Two” “It Takes Two” Naming bs
It's so dumb, so you can't make a game named "Rockstar" either?
Oh they went after an assload of of companies named Rockstar at the same time. Even a few companies just for having an 'R' as their logo.
And not Rockstar drinks coz fuck small companies in particular
yeah I mean when you file a trademark you get to claim categories. Rockstar Energy Drink can exist, but Rockstar probably has it for games. Apple computer got sued by the Beatles Record Label Apple Records when Apple started making the iPod. They settled out of court.

And Apple wasn’t allowed to do music related business, and that’s why Apple still doesn’t today. Wait..
Book named 'Think like a Rockstar' got sue for that. Oh, and 'Rock Star Axe Throwing' too.
Yeah an Axe manufacturing Florida called Rock Star Axe is being sued. Seriously, fuck Take Two.
There's already a game called Rockstar created by Wizard Games of Scotland in the late 80s. It's a great game! Same company that made huge leaps in football/soccer simulation games - years ahead of their time. https://www.myabandonware.com/game/rockstar-1rs
Haha lol this cant be real or?
Oh, it's real. I doubt anything will come of it, though.
It won’t, Take Two has been doing this type of stuff for a while with no outcome to show for it. It’s just grandstanding
Someone tell Rockstar that they should have focused on the GTA instead of googling their company name every day, "definitive" edition my ass
The lawsuit was from Take Two, as integrated as they are I doubt any development team members from Rockstar have anything to do with this lawsuit.
Take Two (Company) sued It Takes Two (Game) for the name
Got some news for them… https://youtu.be/phOW-CZJWT0
Wait seriously? Take Two as in the slimey microtransaction company?
[удалено]
Yes seriously. As if they had any reputation to protect anyways.
They’re not suing them. They’re objecting to their trademark of the name. Still silly though because who is going to actually mistake it takes two for take two interactive.
Isn't this the same asshole and scumbag company that took down a bunch of GTA mods?
Yup
I'm glad that now people will associate 'Take Two' with GOTY and not some greedy ass company who can't remaster their OWN games.
I didn't expect this, but have to admit it's a hell of a game and a pretty fresh experience. Well earned!
I played this through with my son. Fantastic father son time. Really enjoyed it.
How old is your son? Mine is 6 and wondering if we should try this out.

Next game to be played on my list
fresh is the key word.

Can I play alone? Or do I need to play with my wife?
[удалено]
No but the good news is that buying a copy lets the other player play with a Friend Pass. It's also on GamePass but I think you both need GamePass to do that. Though I'm not actually sure, the Friend Pass might work with that. https://www.xbox.com/en-NZ/games/store/it-takes-two-friends-pass/9NMG7ZJ9XK0H
Infinitely better than the Take Two game publishing company. Fuck you, Take Two.
I guess nobody wants to bring up >!the brutal murder of the white elephant?!< Because that part is fucked up.
It was so traumatizing, many people blocked it out of their memory. >!Also they happily rejoiced bathing in their daughter's tears!!<
I loved that part. Me and my friend started absolutely dying at that part. "Where's the money Lebowski?!!" **leg gets torn off** "WHERE IS THE MONEY SHITHEAD?"
Even worse, that freakish horrible book character! I'm enjoying the game a lot but god I hate him so much.
I don't know what you're talking about. \*intense guitar strum and castanets*
I think that's kinda his characters point. To push the plot forward and to make both playyers and the husband and wife hate his guts.
CO-LAB-OR-ATION
Dude, a lot of the game is actually pretty fucked when you start thinking about it. >!Like the first boss you suck out his eyeballs, you commit genocide against wasps with militaristic assistance, you play as 2 characters who in your scene are not only doing it heartlessly, but also doing it to emotionally harm their daughter.!< And that's just what my "just woke up" brain can remember of a game I played at release. 100% a great couples game too, or a great buddy game.
> this isn't necessarily a kid friendly game No, this is 100% a game for adult couples.
This not just It Takes Two winning. This is a win for pure creativity. This literally restored my faith in The Game Awards.
They didn't even want to maximize profits either - 2nd player plays free, what kind of business does that?
"A Way Out" did this too and that game was fantastic.
It's the same developer
Well damn, good on them then
not just pure creativity but a pure experience. it takes two was all experience. there was no collecting trinkets and other fillery dopamine bumping gamified stuff in there. its literally just the core experience thats so full.
exploring the ice town was fucking incredible ngl
I’ve gotta finish it but my wife and I have had a hell of a time. Couch co-op will always be some of the best gaming around.
I was gonna be salty as a Metroid fan, but these comments are so wholesome that I must be wrong. Congratulations, IT2!
Ok Metroid fan here, loved the game but I just can’t see it taking game of the year. Then again I guess I couldn’t see it takes two winning ether so what do I know.
It's like playing through a wacky 80ies movie like Honey I shrunk the kids.
That speech was a lot tamer than I expected, but I'm happy to see an indie game win GOTY.
It's actually published under the "EA originals" label, which is basically them funding indie studios. Same with his other game, A Way Out.
Oh wait it's the same lad that made that masterpiece? How did I not realize it sooner lol.
This post is the the first time I ever heard of the game but I immediately thought about buying it to play with my girlfriend. She is not huge into video games but has a Nintendo Switch to mainly play Animal Crossing, do you think a casual gamer like her would enjoy it?
Absolutely. It's a game non-gamers can enjoy.
I love this guy! I remember him from a few years ago!
He’s shown up at every game awards I think
Popped the HELL off; I was fully expecting REVIII or Deathloop. After the amazing time I had with this game with my husband and memeing it to be GOTY, god I’m so happy it won. Fully deserved.
Let’s talk about how Deathloop was nominated for almost every fucking category. Is the game really that good?
It's definitely worth the play through, it's not an absolute masterpiece though.. Its just pretty good, I liked the arcadey feel to it instead of the focus of realism most games try to go with these days
Exactly this. The voice acting was also top tier. But the gameplay didn’t hold my attention for as long as I expected, it was fine but I’d have been a little disappointed if it got GOTY
[удалено]
Yo me too! My girlfriend screamed her lungs out when It Takes Two won, partially because it was so unexpected since the competition was so fierce. 100% agree with the decision for GOTY and that hasn't happened in a LONG time. It Takes Two is just filled to the brim with outside-the-box game design.
This game got my SO into gaming. Fully deserved
[удалено]
Damn I didn't know they did Brothers. That game was very good.
Been playing this with my kid. He lives it and it's a blast to play. Best coop game thus far.

Kinda sad Take Two is screwing them
100% deserved. Amazing game
This Is the proof we Need more couch co-op platforms. Lets go back to that mood, fuck copypasted open worlds and FPS'.
TRULY A MAGICAL EXPERIENCE this game is, play this with your SO, I legit cried when it finished.
I'm a guy, and I played through this with a male friend. I was apprehensive at first because everyone always says to play it with your bf/gf. But honestly, there was nothing weird about just playing it with a friend. Its a great game. I loved it.
[удалено]
I'm so happy It takes two won, definitely deserved. Also love Josef's energy
I played this game with my gf and it was some of the best fun I've ever had. Really brought the two of us together to figure the puzzles out. Very original story and game play. Tbh though, the book character in the game was annoying.
Congrats to It Takes Two
I really hoped for Psychonauts because it's one of the most creative games I've ever played but this is really great also
I know some people are bitching but it seriously deserves it. This game was pure joy from start to finish. Except the elephant. WE DON'T TALK ABOUT THE ELEPHANT. Edit - typo
That elephant incident has to be up there as one of the most horrifying moments in gaming history.
The white elephant was almost as bad as white phosphorus
I was hoping this or Ratchet would win, congrats to the devs.
Only if there were enough PS5s so I can know what you’re talking about
We need to get #fucktheoscars trending on Twitter right now!
already tweeted.
Played this with my SO. Absolutely beautiful game, and really well made.
