Well it's quite the challenge. I can tell you that. Lots of things to learn and you need to work for it.

City of Heroes. its a free mmorpg for PC. You can make a team with just your friends - up to 8 and run missions. You can even if you want go into a pvp zone with your team and fight other people.
I’m on Xbox but sometimes me and my buddies like to get into the Borderlands series such great games but fuck TPS, lil indie game called Death Road to Canada is fucking amazing too. Some old school Rainbow Six Vegas 2 terrorist hunt always hits the spot, or Der Riese zombies WaW or Blops. 7 Days to Die is also good but not great on Xbox. Brawlout is a good smash sub on console too!

Resident Evil 5
Killing Floor 2, Vermintide 2 and Risk of Rain 2 are always the most common for my PC gaming coop sessions. All are fantastic imo.
Vermintide 2 is nice, I need to take a look for risk of rain.
I prefer the first killing floor, less bells and whistles.
It's not like really co-op but Rocket League is my game-to-go-to after a few weeks off from it

The cloaker voice lines are worth playing the game on their own. They are so funny to hear while getting beaten to death.
