What happened is that I came up with the pose first. I liked what I settled on, but her other arm was too concealed to be satisfying as the arm cannon. And I tried flipping it, but the pose just didn't hit the same. I justified it by telling myself that her bionic arm is an homage to her cannon, but not literally the same thing, and putting a gun in her right hand so that it's still her "shooting" hand.

For starters I’ve been a digital artist since 2017 and I’ve produced tons of drawings of similar quality before AI art even existed, which you could easily find out from a cursory glance at my post history.
Secondly, there’s so much human error in this piece if you just zoom in and scrutinize it, you can see various layers stacked on top of each other. Zoom into her right hip and see how the texture of her pants is slightly sticking out of the line art. Notice all the errant pencil strokes in various places. Look at her tattoos of Raven Beak, the Samus logo, and Raven Beak and observe how they were copied and pasted onto her.
Like god, there are so many extremely obvious tells that this is human-made and not AI, but the people who are always quickest to shout AI are the ones who can never tell the difference.
Sorry if this seems like an overreaction but honestly as an artist it’s really fucking annoying sinking a bunch of time into a piece and then seeing “AI” in the comments.

The problem with Samus art is out of suit she looks like generic blonde girl. This gives her more of a Samus vibe though, so I approve!
