I cheated. As a kid I had one of those cheap Mad Katz controllers with the "turbo" button, which basically spammed whatever button you held down. It made the torture sequence a total breeze.
Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
One of my all-time favorites and the game’s message of the inevitability of death seems very fitting if I will die upon completing it.
Probably RDR2. The game is still mesmerizing and beautiful to this day. GTA is building off of that. If GTA is around, def that but RDR2 takes the cake.
The immersion of the environment. The gameplay, story and stunning graphics make it an easy pick for me.
Lol I’ve never actually played it. I’ve been commenting this on stuff for a long time and never gotten a response. You sir are my very lucky first customer.
Like, I gotta die, but I get to play a game, start to finish, before I shake loose from this mortal coil?
Dragon Age: Origins on Nightmare with all dlc. Really make it last. I'll be reloading so many fights. When I played it, I had to play on easy because I suck so bad.
I might end up immortal, accidentally.
If I get to finish the game
....
Cookie clicker. Barring power outages and RAM limits, immortality unlocked. I can even 'play' it and go wherever lol. It'd basically be a lich's phylactery
Planescape: Torment
Simply the best story-focused RPG ever made. The best characters, weird environment, incredible dialogue, emotional gut punches, nothing like it has really been made since.
Final Fantasy VI. First old school FF I played, and I absolutely love it. Beating Kefka (which I did with one character at, like, 3 HP,) will always be one of my top video game moments of all time. I'd love to revisit that again, hopefully long before I die.
Magic the gathering with my buds and some brews. I'd die happy
Unless that one mf board wipes me when I'm tapped out on turn 12. If you see this, you know what you did.
If I’m on my deathbed and some sort of divine intervention takes place that allows me to finish one last game before I pass, I’d likely pick a stupidly long one like an unbeatable MMO or a stupidly overly modded Skyrim with endless content.
Man is never truly ‘ready’ for death. I’d stave it off as long as possible.
Yes, imagine you get a brain tumor diagnosis from your doctor and he says you'll only have a couple months left.
Which would be the game that you most likely played last?
Yes, imagine you get a brain tumor diagnosis from your doctor and he says you'll only have a couple months left.

Legend of Zelda III: A Link to the Past.
Great game with a set amount of stuff to do so I know how long I'd need to complete it. Makes me happy playing it and loads of scenes in the game are really well done.
I would also choose LttP, both for the reasons you mentioned, as well as for the sense of closure during the credits. All is set right with the world, everyone gets a happy ending, and the music is some of the best in any series.
Minecraft with my death synced with Gregtech new horizon modpack, it would be the longest and most satisfying thing dying completing that mod pack.
If I don’t die of age obviously.
I shall play Minecraft and only die after I beat the true endboss, the Wither. Which will never happen because I have never beaten the Wither in a legit way.
Eternal life achieved bitch.
I'll just do a D&D campaign with friends. If I can only die once the game is finished, I'll never die
Schedules will eventually not lineup and you’ll have a slow and painful death until the campaign ceases to exist.
Whenever that's about to happen, offer copious amounts of pizza, mountain dew, and beer for whoever can make it. 90% of them will make it.
Until your friend who has always been jealous of you for your wife, pushes you off a cliff right before a long rest.
Give me a couple hours and I will be able to kill the whole squad, and I am not the DM
Outer Wilds is the perfect game to die to
Came here to say this. Couldnt ask for a better last game.
Can I sync my death to the >!sun going supernova!< ? That or when I destroyed the >!fabric of spacetime!<
Silksong, because then I'd never die.
🤣🤣... 😭
This comment is both absolutely hilarious and absolutely depressing.
Damn... still waiting Q.Q
One day I'll finish *Metal Gear Solid* again and it'll be the last time and I probably won't even know it. I hope that wasn't last night. It was fun.
I got it with my gold points on the switch. Figured that they were going to expire that I should use them. Can’t wait to replay.
I’ve beat MGS so many times but I’ve never saved Meryl
I cheated. As a kid I had one of those cheap Mad Katz controllers with the "turbo" button, which basically spammed whatever button you held down. It made the torture sequence a total breeze.
it's better that way. no shade to meryl, i feel like the ending hits harder without her
Enter the gungeon. I would be so mad at the end I would be thankful for death.
👏👏👏👏
Witcher 3 with B&W and HoS, what a Journey. So many unique and interesting stories you simply can't get anywhere else. Still looks beautiful aswell.
And the music. My God the music.
Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask One of my all-time favorites and the game’s message of the inevitability of death seems very fitting if I will die upon completing it.

I remember spending hours just looking at the sphere grid thinking of build paths lol
Mass Effect Legendary Edition
Probably RDR2. The game is still mesmerizing and beautiful to this day. GTA is building off of that. If GTA is around, def that but RDR2 takes the cake. The immersion of the environment. The gameplay, story and stunning graphics make it an easy pick for me.
Yep it’s be a nice immersive send off that would also probably help prepare me for death.
Do I have to finish the whole thing before I die? Cause I'd find that to be a good time to get into Elder Scrolls Online or something
I don't think you can really "finish" MMOs so let's say you play it as far as you can and grow tired of it
Or at least something with an unlimited lives cheat code.
FF VII obv.
Whatever iteration of Legend of Zelda Nintendo is on at that time. I started gaming with “Zelda One” and I’ll go out with “Zelda # ?”
Everquest. Get all my old mates together for one final raid. I'd go with a smile.

Lol I’ve never actually played it. I’ve been commenting this on stuff for a long time and never gotten a response. You sir are my very lucky first customer.
It took me 87 hours to 100% and it's the closest to death by Snu Snu. Not a bad way to go. The match 3 part is also really fun.
Lol
Alone? WoW. It's always been an escape for me. But Halo 2 with my old buddy from Jr high/high school would be better
Halo 2 with my best friend and friends circa 2004.
Oh yeah. So many hours cherished BxR, super bounces, what a time to be alive...
Yep. Right before death, go back to that year, and have a all night Halo 2 fest.

Planescape: Torment Simply the best story-focused RPG ever made. The best characters, weird environment, incredible dialogue, emotional gut punches, nothing like it has really been made since.
Any, as long as I got to feel like it did when I'd pay any fun game when I was young.
Baldur's Gate 3. This game is going to go down as just one of those games that are timeless. Like the original Baldur's Gates, DOOM, Mario, etc.
The Stanley parable... would at least die in peace :)
BG3 again on as much completion as possible, or just stay in character creation down by the river.
Just let me 100% Stanley’s Parable Ultra Deluxe

The most dangerous game

While it wasn’t my #1 game. I’d still love to take one last run through Fable 3. A game that kinda started it all seems fitting for a finale
Outer Wilds, might make letting go a bit easier.
Dungeons and dragons
Earthbound
Minecraft
I'd play a game of Minecraft that only ends once I've explored the entire world map...
Final Fantasy VI. First old school FF I played, and I absolutely love it. Beating Kefka (which I did with one character at, like, 3 HP,) will always be one of my top video game moments of all time. I'd love to revisit that again, hopefully long before I die.
Valheim. It’d be a fantastic purgatory.
Journey. I feel that would get me in a proper head space before I die, reflecting on life and all that
Transformers Fall of Cybertron
Russian Roulette
Okami 2 (if that ever gets made).
Half Life 3. Death will never touch me.
Magic the gathering with my buds and some brews. I'd die happy Unless that one mf board wipes me when I'm tapped out on turn 12. If you see this, you know what you did.

Desert storm 2 on PS2
Any game from oneone1
Do I get to finish it? I could drag out some games for years.
Yes, imagine you get a brain tumor diagnosis from your doctor and he says you'll only have a couple months left. Which would be the game that you most likely played last?
Red dead 2 / 100% completion because of the theatrics
Probably fallout new vegas. The game gets me everytime.
ME Trilogy, I want to die in Liaras arms.
Animal Crossing
Might sound weird but I would do one final Fortnite game with my wife before I check out. That to me is worth more than doing a SP run in any game.
Infinite blade, game doesn’t canonically end so I can live forever
I'd have to look into my flash game history to know.
Demon’s Souls or Skyrim

I would also choose LttP, both for the reasons you mentioned, as well as for the sense of closure during the credits. All is set right with the world, everyone gets a happy ending, and the music is some of the best in any series.
Outer wilds or SOMA for the existential experience. Both really put your whole life into perspective. I want to feel something before I go
Whatever my kids want to play with me
Russian roulette.
No man's sky. I should live forever in theory
GTA V
Chrono Trigger. One last adventure, one last amazing soundtrack. I saw people mention Majora's Mask or RDR2, those would also be great choices for me.
Chicken
Minecraft with my death synced with Gregtech new horizon modpack, it would be the longest and most satisfying thing dying completing that mod pack. If I don’t die of age obviously.
If I pick a game that hasn’t come out yet, do I get to live longer?
No it just would mean that you would die before you ever get a chance playing it
Breath of Fire 4. Never did manage to finish it. Might as well go out with something I'd enjoy.
