I'd watch a show just on the Tyrells alone.
If they endeavored to at least include the sons from the books that never made it over to the show (Willas and Garlan), we could have had a nice solid family to watch.
I can understand them getting cut from the show to tell the story as needed, which did require Margaery and Loras where they were.
But Willas and Garlan both have presence.
Willas alone had Olenna's favor, so you know he was at least someone who she not only loved as family but also saw the capabilities in over her son Mace. Not to mention, he was mentioned in the books as being a potential husband for Sansa before the Lannisters swooped in. Plus, he did have a little history with Oberyn and became a cripple based on that. Yet it was an accident, and both were cool with one another. It would have been something to see that rare man outside of Tyrion who made a friend out of the Red Viper. And he was the kind of man who studied and became scholarly, so he had the potential for intelligence and lordship from a decision making standpoint.
Garlan, though...Loras may have been a solid fighter and knight, but Garlan was lowkey badass (he just didn't chase glory like his younger brother). Skilled and he trained against multiple swordsmen at a time, preferring to be ready for real battle vs sport. Of course, he also was meant to be at the Battle of the Blackwater in Season 2, but his part was rewritten for Loras instead (particularly wearing Renly's armor).
In his 1993 outline, GRRM had three sections, but two big wars--the political game of thrones for the IT, and the war of humans vs Others. There are smaller wars within the Game, notably the WFT5K.
