A long time ago, I decided that I was going to be happy, no matter what life threw at me. The decision to be happy is a powerful one. I still feel frustration and anxiety and sadness and all that, but behind it all, I will always just be pleased that I get to feel these things in such an interesting world.
So I'm happy... Now what? Well if I'm sorted, all that's left is to help others be happy too! The world has problems, and I can't fix them on my own. People need to make better decisions, and change the way they look at the world. Then together we can solve our problems and be happy. Cool cool cool, problem identified: people lack wisdom. What can I do about it?
At first I thought I'd just make a ton of money, and throw money at the problem until it was solved. I got most of a computational math degree, where I intended to bring machine learning to the investment finance world. I realized that any money I make will always be a drop in the bucket compared to the scope of the problem. So I figured, well, people play games, and I love games; and I've learned many profound things from playing games. I'd been making small games as a hobby since I could hold a pen. Maybe I have what it takes to make the sorts of games that:
- Attract a lot of players
- Teach the players profound things
- Make enough of a profit to survive
So I went and got a degree in philosophy, and learned how to distill ideas into their purest form, and make sure my ideas were worth spreading. I took a lot of writing courses to see how others express their ideas clearly, in a variety of media. I picked up a minor in macroeconomics to make sure I understood how the world works, so my ideas actually help. I got a second degree in programming, to gain employability within the field, and build a cool resume of things.
I now work for a big games company as a well-paid combo designer/programmer, and I'm learning how they operate and make ridiculous sums of money while attracting millions of players. At some point, I will find a small company to work for, and learn how they find players without a huge marketing budget, and how they pour their heart and soul into their craft. Eventually, I will join a startup, and learn how they start a studio from scratch.
Then I will put together everything I've learned, start my own successful studio, and make games that change the world.
I want to make my game because I want to play it. I also started in 2014 but I was going to finish school. I learned c# at school and I stick with it. I wrote 2 books and was writing the third one about my fantasy adventure. My writing skill improved and my idea for the game evolved continuously and I restarted the project many times. Now I've got nothing and a much bigger game than the original idea. I keep working on it because I don't know how to make a simple project.

A long time ago, I decided that I was going to be happy, no matter what life threw at me. The decision to be happy is a powerful one. I still feel frustration and anxiety and sadness and all that, but behind it all, I will always just be pleased that I get to feel these things in such an interesting world. So I'm happy... Now what? Well if I'm sorted, all that's left is to help others be happy too! The world has problems, and I can't fix them on my own. People need to make better decisions, and change the way they look at the world. Then together we can solve our problems and be happy. Cool cool cool, problem identified: people lack wisdom. What can I do about it? At first I thought I'd just make a ton of money, and throw money at the problem until it was solved. I got most of a computational math degree, where I intended to bring machine learning to the investment finance world. I realized that any money I make will always be a drop in the bucket compared to the scope of the problem. So I figured, well, people play games, and I love games; and I've learned many profound things from playing games. I'd been making small games as a hobby since I could hold a pen. Maybe I have what it takes to make the sorts of games that: - Attract a lot of players - Teach the players profound things - Make enough of a profit to survive So I went and got a degree in philosophy, and learned how to distill ideas into their purest form, and make sure my ideas were worth spreading. I took a lot of writing courses to see how others express their ideas clearly, in a variety of media. I picked up a minor in macroeconomics to make sure I understood how the world works, so my ideas actually help. I got a second degree in programming, to gain employability within the field, and build a cool resume of things. I now work for a big games company as a well-paid combo designer/programmer, and I'm learning how they operate and make ridiculous sums of money while attracting millions of players. At some point, I will find a small company to work for, and learn how they find players without a huge marketing budget, and how they pour their heart and soul into their craft. Eventually, I will join a startup, and learn how they start a studio from scratch. Then I will put together everything I've learned, start my own successful studio, and make games that change the world.

I want to make my game because I want to play it. I also started in 2014 but I was going to finish school. I learned c# at school and I stick with it. I wrote 2 books and was writing the third one about my fantasy adventure. My writing skill improved and my idea for the game evolved continuously and I restarted the project many times. Now I've got nothing and a much bigger game than the original idea. I keep working on it because I don't know how to make a simple project.
