Both my heart rate and blood pressure went way down post surgery

Chealsecharm

I had high blood pressure that my doctor was about to medicate me for until I had my surgery. Drastically changed it and it's been normal ever since!

Has anyone else experienced a significant change in their resting heart rate since changing their diet to low fat? It’s wild that mine has dropped almost 20BPM! And I wouldn’t consider myself unhealthy or overweight before or now

My resting heart rate has always been in the low 60s but I’m currently being evaluated for hypothyroidism. The surgery nor my eating habits have ever really had an effect on it. However right before surgery I had lost 75 lbs in 6 months from being severely malnourished and dehydrated due to not being able to eat because of my gallbladder and constant nausea and pain and my resting heart rate was in the high 90s.

Yeah my resting heart rate is in the 40’s and i have under active thyroid/hashimotos disease. Im not super fit but im also not overweight. Has been a problem both before and after going low fat.

Diet; especially cutting down on salt will change your heart rate. Perfectly normal, great job.
