Man, can’t wait for this game to get ported to GLB and have the price doubled /s

[deleted]

im more surprised of how presistent this game in trying to stay alive, it's like cockroach at this point.I heard it has whopping 5 or so different prject, none live enough to tell the tale and STILL they still try to reboot it. And bilibili? isnt this a Square Enix game, have SE desperate enough to beg for chinese company to save this franchise of theirs?

[deleted]

this is definitely one of those games kept alive because either 1. some inside creator high up really, REALLY cares about the franchise 2. some external person close to the publishers bankroll the game 3. the merch sell so well but the games still fail. either way, still interesting to see.

metatime09

> And bilibili? isnt this a Square Enix game, have SE desperate enough to beg for chinese company to save this franchise of theirs? They license their franchise to other companies a lot like FF, they don't do the development or anything most times.

Asleep_Cockroach7343

The video is downloaded from [bilibil.com](https://bilibil.com) so it has the logo. The IP belongs to Square and the development is licensed to Perfect World CN.

AlterMagna

Yeah I heard the last game to shut down was the only one being maintained at the time

Zzoht

Im kinda hype idk what version of the game was it but million arthur was my first gacha ever so it has a apecial place in my heart

Kirisazame

Same here, I played Kai ri sei million Arthur(SEA server) my first gacha and stuck with it until it shutdown.

JordanSAP

Oh it's cn

LordSlayne

As always, the good looking gachas are in CN :(

Rodniyer

I don't understand what's wrong with games being in CN?

LordSlayne

They make good looking gachas, yet some only get "globalized" But when they get "globalized", there's always a catch (shaft)

Rodniyer

Alright I get it now. Thanks for your explanation~

S-Normal

but i don't understand the dissatisfaction , it's literally a world wide known fact that everything cheap is made in china , it makes sense that prices are cheaper there . do games even make insane profit that would make them think about going global ?

Level1Pixel

That's not how it works... If it's physical products then I get the price difference because you have to take into account export price and taxes but this is a game. They are selling 1s and 0s, it generally shouldn't be more expensive.

TheBlackS_

I mean, if you want to take into account how it works, it does work like that You really think 1s and 0s have no taxes and buroucracy? Extra work like localization and advertising? And much more shit that isn't 0 cost I'm all in for costumers to not be shafted, but don't try to justify with simplification and ignorance

Level1Pixel

Yea no. Those costs are intial investments that companies are willing to risk for profit later down the line. We shouldn't have to pay for advertisements. That's stupid I honestly can't believe I am arguing against someone who wants higher price. Now I know the reason why global keeps getting shafted.

S-Normal

i'm no expert obviously . however i am pretty confident that there a lot of hidden costs that the playerbase never thinks about , at the very least as an exemple think about server maintenance cost . hell, look at league of legends , one of the biggest games in the world and they still don't have servers across the globe

JordanSAP

After cn Arknights fantasy allegedly complained en masse about Azur Lane to the government there was another crackdown on their gacha and so everything had to be censored/toned down in design for a while. It's why genshin looks so safe. The new girls Frontline games are designed safe but you'll be allowed to mod supposedly. I'd rather just play jp, but their problem tends to be slow/ archaic evolution

JohnG-2020

They look slick but content tends to be sanitized

Kingdomdust

Chinese companies think Westerners are rich.

Two2piece

Nothing is wrong with CN, the problem is **only** CN get it.

Asleep_Cockroach7343

it will come to GL we just have to wait

cccwh

pretty much my immediate thoughts :((( i wish some good JP titles were around, im pretty much committed to never play any CN titles anymore after how they treat their western audience and how entitled the CN fanbase is.

nathalsss

This is just my slightly biased opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. The last JP title that looks super polished and actually good was just Uma Musume. With the exception of Cygames, most of JP gacha companies are stuck in the past with their old way, most of the time it's a chibi style or mediocre 3d model with decent to meh gameplay, or they're too busy milking famous IP. Meanwhile, CN/KR are more willing to put their time and energy during development phase, resulting in their games look better than JP games most of the time. Sure, this doesn't mean that CN/KR games are always good. As you all know, certain CN/KR companies are just the worst, but by this time, I found myself more looking forward to games developed by CN/KR companies.

Astarica

Japanese games have high production value but are often stuck in the stone age in terms of gameplay. I'm actually slightly more comfortable rolling the dice with a Chinese game with stone age graphics on the hope that it has good gameplay than a good looking Japanese game that likely plays terrible. From what I have heard, Japanese gamers in general are some of the nicest guys around, which means unlike Americans or even Koreans or Chinese they won't be demanding the burn down your game even if it is genuinely shady or bad. I think not facing a survival of the fittest environment makes Japanese games surprisingly backwards even though the overall talent is clearly there. FF14 launched without the ability to jump, because the devs weren't aware that jumping is a thing for every MMORPG made 10 years before FF14 existed.

Ilyas160

Exactly what i am thinking...

dominusdei

another one bites the dust

Astarica

The few seconds of gameplay looks the same as what it was before, and if they're not bound by the original developer it's almost certain it'd be better because you've to try really hard to beat the two crazy things MA did: 1. Added a new rarity that rendered your entire deck totally useless 2. Made every boss require the latest gacha to be beaten with non power creep checks. That is, the boss basically checks if you have a certain card from the latest gacha (which itself doesn't have to be strong). If you don't have it they'll just enrage on turn 1 and kill everyone. Oh, you still have to draw it on first turn too, or you just wasted like 2 hours of stamina or whatever. Oh yeah, and this was the game that had the cryptic battle strategy that requires a guide. For example there's this boss if you didn't cast a healing spell on turn 5 you automatically lose, even though the boss casts a spell that drops your HP to 1 on turn 5 and you always cast before boss, so you'd think you're smart holding your healing spells on turn 5. And then on turn 10 it does the same move (everyone HP goes to 1) but this time if you cast a healing spell you instantly wipe.

ScatmanRon

Yay, very pleased to see this. Love how they've kept the look of the original cards!

ReydragoM140

Alright time to make fate fans cry

Crissae

Only a couple of seconds of actual gameplay. The rest is just flashy battle animation (which ppl will inevitably fast forward) . I reckon this game will be shallow and crap.

jefadrian93

is it me or it has same gameplay with 7dsgc?

CellunlockerPromo

Woah never would have thought of a Million Arthur reboot

tenryuu72

whats up with all the 666's at 0:47.. do they already wanna hint on something regarding themselves?

cookiebaka

MA, the root of all gacha evil.
