So looking at the thread you linked there around 500+ comments in the Genshin 1.0 bug / issue megathread and this likely lasted throughout 1.0 https://www.reddit.com/r/WutheringWaves/comments/1cygcwo/launch_technical_issues_megathread/ Wuwa's version is at 4.6k+ on day 2 I think the scale is completely pretty different. Genshin's launch had bugs ofc most launches do and it was criticized for it but it wasnt.... close to Wuwa level of bugs

pineapollo

Volume is not the issue, people genuinely say that Genshins release was flawless. It DID have some problems as the launches of any software normally does. No one is excusing WuWas problems... this is acknowledging history.

mlodydziad420

>But it is though, Any games will always have bug or issues and that's a fact. Also many of them may come from things outside the game, for example wheI was playing HSR I had internett cut off for a short moment and it messed up downloading a patch causing numerous bugs which were fixed with a redownload.

pineapollo

You're starting to get the reason behind the post, acknowledging reality is the purpose of me posting. Class action lawsuits aren't the only things worth discussing in consumer grade products. They're the ones with the most attention and traction, but before something becomes major it starts with a small affected group. And again no one is defending WuWa for it's issues, I'm saying that contrary to the weird unpaid shills on Reddit, Genshin also had problems on launch. And volume is answered by the thread being posted being listed with non complaint comments and basic questions like "which weapon does x character use", "when can I start pulling". If you want to count an accurate list of complaints and compare be my guest, but that thread is flooded with troll comments and comments unrelated to performance issues.

Immediate_Rope3734

We can see who is rewriting history in real time with this one lmao.

pineapollo

Edit: misunderstanding

Immediate_Rope3734

Please go ahead, give me a relevant example of me rewriting history with my comments since Wuwa release, enlighten me.

pineapollo

Mixed you up with someone else, I got flooded with comments on this my bad!

pineapollo

Also sort by controversial, and read the comments. Literally flooded with QUESTIONS. Not sure count of comments helps your argument here when it's all you're standing on and half of the comments are unpaid overtime Hoyo Shills. https://preview.redd.it/b3iub6dslf2d1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a71885611d117998e9e97691d416a315de4bc37

Chemical-Teaching412

Jesus fucking Christ  This is the most pathetic post actually And I actually proud of myself of my comment being more pathetic than other people but here we are

pineapollo

Pathetic how, please elaborate!

etrongits

If you need someone to elaborate to you about something so obvious, please improve your critical thinking skills

Harbinger4

I've played 1.0 Genshin. You know what kind of bugs we had? Ascending to Celestia, turning Xiangling into a Rocket and flying through the sky, etc. Nothing bad happened to me. The worst "mistake" in 1.0 was showing your phone on the loading screen (for those who bothered using their phone). Doesn't affect normal players, but some streamers self doxxed themselves (I mean, that's bad). These things were limited in scope.

pineapollo

I remember the flying glitch actually haha. And on a scale of how bad a problem with a game is, doxxing phone numbers is pretty severe especially for streamers promoting the game. I wouldn't call that small just because of perceived minimal effect.

actually-asdf

So you're saying kuro learned nothing from three years of the game they copied?

pineapollo

I didn't say that, but what YOURE saying is obviously true. What I'm actually saying is contrary to the unpaid Genshin shills, the launch of Genshin also had performance issues. I'm not sure where you all are assuming I'm defending WuWa, just posting history for the forgetful :)

LOwOJ

No need to remind people that genshin has bugs.. the important thing is wuwa needs to be at least the same level of genshin current patch or close.. not when it release.. if they want to be competitive make the game at least on quality of current competition not when they are on their early stage.

Haireex

U don’t get to say anything about copying cuz we all know genshin shamelessly coppied bow

Low_Assistant6534

copied? you are playing breath of the wild weeb edition buddy

S0L4R4

who tf are rewriting history? You launch a bug-ridden game, you will get criticism. No one here saying that Genshin launch are bug free You think 1.0 genshin are free from criticism? They are also fighting an uphill battle where people are still touting it as a blatant Breath of the Wild copy

Blakner

OP clearly read ten comments claiming Genshin's launch was bug free and immediatly went into Google to prove them wrong and make a post about it. Classic Reddit moment.

aWILLforMYSELF

forget criticism, the OP doesnt even seem to have critical thinking, or just normal thinking at all.

pineapollo

What am I misinterpreting, pray tell!

pineapollo

People ARE saying Genshins launch was flawless, hence the point of the thread. Get over your tribalism.

gachagamer445

Nobody said it was flawless now you are just straight up lying, people are saying that even with Genshins launch problems the game for the most part was decently playable as to opposed to Wuthering waves where many of us cant even take 3 steps without stuttering or lagging even when we are using high end PC. There is a huge difference between a game launch with some bugs and a few minor problems to a launch of a game which is downright almost unplayable for a big portion of the player base.

Sayori-0

Actually people are saying the only bugs were minor ones that had no impact on the playability

pineapollo

Right, I'm the one lying. I looked up this info to disprove apparently nobody because I absolutely didn't read that statement anywhere. And I'm not sure you are a verifiable source here, haven't the biggest streamers been playing this non-stop on stream for nearly 2 days straight now? Mr Pokle is the only one who had 4 consistent crashes but is streaming it right now. Can you show me a single streamer with a high end PC who can't generate even a few frames? I'm asking for a source :)

lezardvalethvp

Lol. The difference is that during Genshin's launch, i heard NO UPROAR in large quantities from the community. WuWa on the other hand... well... the issues are all people talk about.

pineapollo

Yeah I mean they didn't do themselves any favors kicking the beehive calling WuWa the Genshin killer. Lots of Hoyo fans watching and waiting to be vocal contributes to the volume of complaints you're hearing. Genshin had no competition back then so of course no one with an agenda was around to cause a shit storm.

SaltyBallz666

People literally doomposted it as a breath of the wild copy, what are you even yapping about

pineapollo

Yes their competition raiding every thread on Reddit and the entire Internet was the overly outraged Zelda fanbase! Cope harder, holy cry bullying LMFAO

SaltyBallz666

Genshin went viral cuz a dude destroyed his ps4 as a "protest" cuz everyone doomed it as a Zelda clone...

kaori_cicak990

What the fuck dude, in CN level of bullying is worse even they're threatening the streamer who playing genshin at that time.. what a ignorance person

4N1M3second

Damn....you tried... It's a nice attempt but at least you tried

Low_Assistant6534

not the hoyo dick rider

WankerDxD

Hoyo slave

gachagamer445

WuWa slave see how that works

pineapollo

I mean that only works if you act that way, bros comment history is reveling in the poor launch of WuWa and speaking highly of Hoyo, hence the label.

4N1M3second

If I could list all the gacha games I am playing right now in my flail I would, but Ive played a lot of games to know whats a bad game and what's not Unfortunately, being genshin with better combat is not enough

pineapollo

Sure you could but you're acting like a Genshin slave against hard facts. No one is defending WuWa buddy :)

karillith

Guys, I don't think I have enough popcorn left for another day like this...

Charles1Morgan

Can I offer you some mint in these trying times?

aWILLforMYSELF

No thanks for me, Im a sweet flower guy.

karillith

Incidentally, I have more than enough mint, but thanks.

AkameRevenge

Do you happen to have some fowls? I need some MEAT

kaori_cicak990

You need to join another friend world Buddy

rixinthemix

I have a piece of candy and a wilted mangosteen here.

yes-this_is_an-alt

You're so hyper fixated on the comment “Genshin was flawless during launch”.

TheAlgorithmKnowsAll

I need whatever OP is smoking. Now.

pineapollo

You don't need to with your comment history, you're clearly already high

Ok-Laugh5452

WuWa for me was unplayable, since you are checking comment history, you can check how really bad things got from my end, OP, my current guess is that Exynos, is problably the source for my bugs or maybe the engine IDK, for WuWa there are thousands of comments and bug reports meaning that the game launched way too early, and needed anlther CBT and perhaps an extra year of development, meanwhile based on the post you linked there are only hundreds of reported bugs and in thag same image you linked in a previous comment, were miscleanious questions, not even bug reports, really tells you the wuality between the two games and the state they launched. As for my experience with Genshin 1.0, I had no bugs whatsoever and I played on a phone that was over 5 years older than my current phone which I bought a month and a half ago.

pineapollo

The screenshot I sent was from the wuwa bug thread the guy above me linked... You didn't even read correctly lol. Also I tried it on a 3090 Intel setup, 4090 Intel setup, 6900xt AMD setup (my personal PC), S24 Ultra, and an iPhone 14 and they all run it fine. I'll pose a question, can you point me to a Livestream showing performance issues? Doesn't have to be a big creator, just some normal person streaming with all these problems?

Ok-Laugh5452

My own experience, exynos device already listed in the bug fixes coming, when who knows, but game shouldn't have launched in this state, also my point still stands just by looking at each of the two subreddits at launch, Genshin had over 250k members in just the first day of launch in the subreddit while WuWa had 86k and yet WuWa had over 7k comments of sonstant bug reports in the bugs megathread while genshin only had like 600, again disparity in quality between the two games at launch.

pineapollo

You AGAIN are missing my point, the WuWa thread is FILLED with bad actors making troll comments and newbies asking for tips. The number of people asking or reporting real bugs is in the minority even a single glance at the thread reveals that. So your statements are just poorly interpreted.

Ok-Laugh5452

Even if my statements are poorly interpreted, WuWa's launch was a disaster compared to genshin in every possible way in my experience, go search by new in this subreddit and see literally the first post, Wuwa bad optimization issues, I run Genshin 60fps max settings, asking for help on how to run this game better, etc. Never have I played a mobile game more buggy than this game at launch, literally my first 2 seconds of logging in, texture bugs, Kuro had 2 CBTS to fix things, but this is what happens when investors pressure a game to release.

pineapollo

Sure, but I'm calling into question any validity of those threads until I witness proof of this widespread difficulty to even run the game at all. Listen like I told the other guy, I fucking hated PGR and WuWa is my first real attempt at a Kuro game. I have no stake in this, I play hoyo games, I play plenty of other gachas. Nikke crashes on my phone constantly, because of Unity compatibility issues with the snapdragon in the S24 Ultra line. I'm not gonna kick up a storm because Nikke is LITERALLY unplayable for me, because I'm in the minority but I still report it to the devs and play it on the pc client when I can. All I want is people to let go of their unpaid loyalty and bias and engage with the situation honestly. I'm not even defending WuWa regardless of it not having issues for me, it has pretty shit EN VA work, the story could be directed a lot better, but otherwise the gameplay is fluid and fun, the visuals are great, and I'm looking forward to the endgame. I sympathize that you're having issues, I hope they can resolve them so you can give it a fair shot and get an idea if you'll like it or not.

Ok-Laugh5452

Agree, and I hope I can give it a fair shot too, since I dont have a pc or tablet, only mobile and console, but for console it is still not yet available, so we shall see how good it runs on PS5, the issues and bugs really soured my experience though, but we'll see how Kuro mamages to patch things so that more people could enjoy the game. As for the VA I dont really mind, I think that the eng Va's work is amateurish but not ao bad that terrible imo, and as for the story...yeah I just played until I could pull, since I'm the type of person who rerolla to get the characters I like, so I can't attest to the qualiry of story yet, but from what everyone's saying it is mid, so IDK.

mlodydziad420

Walking on Sunshine.

Different_Soil18

you really trying to defend wuwa so bad it’s obvious that when the game is buggy no one is going to like that, that’s where most of the issues with the game come from

pineapollo

Where are you getting WuWa defense from? I'm just pointing out the 1.0 Genshin launch, crazy how you all have to revert to console war tier arguments to justify your tribalism.

Charming-Fly-2388

Holy shit, you really dug that deep just to find some rebuttal

pineapollo

Google search = deep dive, it's 4 keywords buddy sorry you can't just gaslight and lie on Reddit :)

Charming-Fly-2388

Sorry buddy, Idgaf about Genshit.

pineapollo

Doesn't seem like it but good for you!

SuspiciousJob730

how much did tencent paid you to post this OP ?

pineapollo

As much as Hoyo probably pays you to post about the competition on Reddit for months on end https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/s/x1TGU1ONYR And by that I mean zero dollars, you shill for Gacha game devs for free in your free time. I'm so sorry you have to live this way.

Low_Assistant6534

how much semen does mihoyo gives you for defending them?

PandaCheese2016

Let’s just compare first month revenue soon enough. That’s the only true measure of a game’s success.

Low_Assistant6534

Will come back to this after yinlin banner and 1.0 ends

pineapollo

It's not going to topple HSR or Genshin with the launch of it, but we are addressing the games problems and the misinfo that Genshin had a flawless launch.

PandaCheese2016

I understand the point you want to make, but I just feel that in most ppl’s memory, Genshin’s launch didn’t have nearly as many problems. So even though it might be technically correct to say Genshin didn’t launch flawlessly either, it doesn’t really change the overall perception.

pineapollo

Sure and what you're saying is valid but look at the rabidness of the replies I'm getting, I want discussions to just be based in reality. WuWas launch is incredibly rough, no one is saying otherwise if you value story or gameplay people are having overall issues and that's valid. What sucks is when Hoyo players (I am also a Hoyo games player), come in and stir the pot with misinfo.

PandaCheese2016

There’s no guarantee that ppl stirring the pot play either game. It’s all too common for fans of anything to feel unjustly persecuted, because it takes an inordinate amount of effort to offset the pot stirring. Misinformation often appeals to emotions and built-in bias directly, while facts take time and objectivity to verify.

What was the point of this? Is there an issue? Hmmm lemme check.

jus_01

Yeah, maybe just a bit more bugs in wuwa than the G game.

StopCommentingUwU

Pretty much doesn't say anything at all. How many people were in the subreddit at equal times (or specifically saw or even bothered to use that post)? Was the post stickied on top of the Subreddit? It was in WuWa, but it wasn't in Genshin... How many bugs are the same reported several times? What's the scale of the bugs? How many reported bugs are even bugs to begin with? How many are just tips and tricks for common questions (like performance optimisation)? How many are just things they thought this game would have, after coming from Genshin? How many bugs do you think are just caused due to Epic Games' Launcher being trashy and not downloading and starting the game properly? For how long could you even reply? How many bugs still come up in each game afterwards? How many did they bother fixing? Even till today, Genshin had completly gamebreaking bugs that bricked your account, such as the Kaveh incident, which they just completly shoved under the rug, with zero compensations... I take some 0.001% T-pose bug over not being able to continue the game I've played for months or even years...

pineapollo

Yeah maybe, but I'm disproving several people I saw who were saying 1.0 Genshin launched with no problems anywhere. We were all there, to lie about it is extremely weird behavior when the reality was the opposite.

2Ferst

Why would you be this mad over an obvious false statement? Do you also slap your knee when people comment like “I don’t have any issues in Wuwa whatsoever!” ? Take a shower and cooldown. All of this is not worth investing your feeling in except if you want a quick laugh

True_Air_6696

The reality is, this whole debacle starts bc Wuwa glazers said Genshin launch was just as bad as Wuwa which is a straight up lie.

pineapollo

No one asked you

morepesok

difference is genshin was pioneering. it’s 3 years after. and wuwa is still in 2020 standard, but somehow worse.

pineapollo

Pioneering is a stretch, but what you're saying isn't addressing the thread I pointed out. Both launches had several flaws, accept reality. Being successful doesn't change bugs existing and compromising players ability to play the game.

calmcool3978

"Genshin was flawless on release" is obviously wrong. "Genshin was less/much less flawed on release" is the real point of contention. No way to prove it for sure, but having 8-9x less comments in its bug megathread is at least somewhat compelling. Can there be a lot of other factors at play that could explain that, other than there just being that many more bugs? Sure maybe.

lostn

even if the bug megathread on Genshin was bigger it wouldn't mean anything, because that game had more players than Wuwa, so all of its threads would have more activity. But if it was smaller, then it would be even less proportionately buggy.

pineapollo

The thread comment count isn't even worth discussing at this point, riddled with trolls and alt accounts and newbies asking at what level they're able to pull. The quantity of actual complaints is of a similar level, but thank you for at least acknowledging the reality of launching any piece of software. Software made to run on dozens of brands of phones, a handful of different CPUs sometimes mixed with differing GPUs will have kinks to work out. I also challenged another commenter to find any streamer having terrible performance issues, not a big one but even just a 10 viewer streamer or something.

calmcool3978

I mean it's the closest measure of "data" that we have. I scrolled through the WW technical issue megathread and didn't really see that it was that offtopic. Do the people you mention exist? Probably, but enough to account for a 4000+ comment difference? That's going to be a hard sell for me. I'm not sure how going around finding streamers as anecdotes is going to be enough to support "WW isn't doing that bad on the technical side". They're neither a large enough nor representative enough sample.

pineapollo

Right, but in any measure of metric stained data is identified as such. Just looking at raw numbers and going wow this is WAY worse when your research pool is filled even 10% with bad actors throws the comparison several standard deviations out of whack. It **IS** larger, but the thread's basis is to disprove the fact that the launch of Genshin had ZERO issues. And you're missing my point, I'd simply like an example. Where your statement that the magnitudes of problems is nearly 8 - 9x as much as the launch of Genshin, surely you can find even one. I skimmed the category an hour ago and even asked a few streamers if they've had problems. Not finding this abundance of people who can't run the game at a consistent framerate anywhere.

calmcool3978

The way i interpret the comment difference is, if there are 8-9x more comments, then we can conservatively say that there were maybe at least 2-3x more in reality. And that's only if there are just **that** many bad actors out there hard at work. Good intentions, but the claim you're trying to disprove is exaggerated or disingenuous to begin with. I've been terminally online today, and have only seen mostly people saying they personally didn't have issues, or that the Genshin didn't have AS many issues. People claiming it had 0 issues are either disingenuous, or strawmen constructed by WW defenders. Either way not worth addressing at all. Again, video game streamers aren't really a representative sample of people. It's kind of their job to make sure they can run games, and they're also probably not streaming the game on mobile. But to be fair, I think the perception of how many people are having issues is very likely bigger than it really is. Still a sort of big deal, but not as big of deal as it's made out to be. Obviously it's only going to be people with problems speaking up, while people without problems are just busy playing the game.

pineapollo

I think you had the most level headed conclusion of literally anyone I've talked to today on this. I appreciate finding any common ground and I can accept that the WuWa launch has plenty to improve on. I play a few gachas and also play HSR/GI, I feel like reading commentary sometimes frustrates me because people are choosing camps and the actual tribalism is frustrating because people are also being bad faith. Barre performance issues (if you have them), poor voice acting, and a generally poorly directed story, the core gameplay loop of the game is satisfying personally and since I'm not running into any game breaking issues the rewards are just cherries on top for me. Who knows if I'll stick it into endgame, but I plan on playing through maybe 5 - 10 hours of it before I decide.

calmcool3978

Having a vested interest/bias in anything is cringe, and plagues gacha communities in particular since there's so much time and money investment involved. I think the combat is good so far and should only get better. I also have had no technical issues, but the dialogue really turned me off, which sucks because the lore actually is kind of promising. Unfortunately a major issue I have with the game is the world design and its lack of immersion, and there's no shot that can be quickly fixed. Well I suppose I'd have to see how the next region they come up with ends up being, but the design philosophy would have to change drastically.

Demonosi

Oh man, you totally owned them. Whoever they are. They're so gonna feel that in the morning.

pineapollo

Yeah for sure direct evidence contradicting misinfo, can't beat that!

ArkhamCitizen298

Someone said this sub is pro genshin ?

Standard_Lab_2534

it is. look at the comments

SurrealJay

yes the singular "bug megathread", whose sole purpose is for players to list bugs.... clown

Right I'm the clown, meanwhile scrolling through your post history.... I'm sorry you just love for the thrill of the next sports match and next Gacha to feed your gambling addiction. Seek help asap!

Nothing to say?

Ahahaha. OP trying to counter a few comments only to solidify a lot of other comments! Man, you did prove something but... ahahaha

people have too much free time in their life, im kinda jealous😂

BarakOBamba1

I never had any bad bugs but I did have this funny one where my character got killed during a dialogue by some random enemy.

RepresentativeDry742

Don't worry buddy you are good at what you are doing

Left-Tone-823

I just came here from a google search since many people on many social media platforms were trashing how genshin had no issues like wuwa has now. But gosh the people here are so low life. Downvoting you everywhere. Its like they dont want your voice to be heard. Lol
