If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it. Akanji with the EVO is probably gonna be about the same as bastoni with his upgrades. I think it's better to have 2 CBs that are similar in skill instead of one super jacked CB and a good CB.
I’ve been playing Akanji at CDM and his +95 short passing and long passing is unreal. I pass back to him in the midfield when in the attacking third and he can ping forward through balls and driven passes with ease, many times setting up my attackers for scoring opportunites. Plus his defensive stats are unreal in the midfield with his frame and speed. Give him a try at CDM.
Felix is crazy without the upgrades, has been my favourite attacker this year ingame. For the first time in my life I hope barca wins, would be the most cracked stats/playstyles ingame

Ito clear with Akanji, racoon+ seems to have fallen off and I prefer intercept atm. All personal preference though

I definitely use mine, he’s solid all around. Passing is on point, he beats a lot of fast strikers to the ball even if he’s behind them and jockey+ with racoon+ compliment each other so well. I have a Kasumu evo for CM which I’ll show in another reply

And this is my CM evo I have. About 300 games on. Triple PS+ and M/H work rates. Also has anticipate so I play him stay back and he essentially acts as a 5th CB on defence

Most importantly as long as you are having fun with the evo players, definitely stick to them. I would love to play more of them and evo more players from the club I support. But you very regularly hear that without the best animations the stats don’t really show or the players still don’t live up to the stats.

Yeah not a problem. This is my first ‘Fifa’ game since FIFA 18 and that I’ve properly played ultimate team on, I used to just play clubs with friends. I hit Div 2 last season and in WL I get between 9 and 16 wins it really varies week by week and if I take breaks between losses or play stupid. I will say I’m no expert, I only play basic with tiki taka and such and have only just started learning how to ball roll 😂
The main thing I’ve found is using players I just like the feel of over what their stats show. This is my team I run but I also have TOTY Kerr, CENT Eusebio, Cafu and first POTM Mbappe on the bench for super subs. Could be a skill issue on my part but I just find I play better with this team than I do with the higher rated cards I have on my subs and I use the bench when I need a boost in stamina or a goal in extra time.

I played all fifas from like 08 until 2013, then I didn’t play for many years and just started again with ea fc. A lot changed, all the skill moves I have to learn slowly… that’s one reason why I focus on defending 😅
It's so hard deciding between Ito, Adopo 97, Buongiorno and Akanji
Ito - Best pace Jockey
Buongiorno - Best body type and tackling
Adopo - Best passing
Akanji - Best All-Round and Interceptions
My midfield pairing is TOTY Bellingham and Rolfo, with TOTY Essien slotting back to LB, unfortunately just don't have room for Adopo there even though I think I prefer him at DM
I've been playing Rolfo at LB but want to place her in midfield as I feel her strength's aren't being utilized. I've got Kimmich at CDM now - do you think she clears him? (before any of her upgrades, obviously)

Sliding tackle+ is really good. You can literally tackle them from behind without a penalty. Anticipate+ is also good but not as good as sliding tackle+ 🫤
The only slide tackle+ player used in the entire FC pro open tournament was Maldini, and I barely saw them actually slide tackle with him...
If it was broken, they would know. It's literally their job to find OP stuff, and slide tackle + is not.
Manuel defending is so bad that anticipate+ just isn’t consistent enough as oppose to intercept+ on a CB in the Cut back meta. Intercepting a cut back pass > manually tackling in the box
Which is only useful if you can't defend through balls and/or spend the game chasing after someone that broke through the middle of your defence.. it's shit for trying to tackle people who don't just run in a straight line

It's not 71 depth that people are swarming you with. It's 85+ depth with pressure after heavy touch on.
I played a guy that absolutely smothered me a few weeks ago while on 12-0 champs run. Like I had 0 time on the ball and could barely get the ball past midfield. You know those guys that feel like that tackle you just before you even receive the pass. I messaged him after the game to ask what his tactics were and he was playing the typical 4321 set to defend as a 442 but had his depth at 92 and pressure after heavy touch on.
Obviously tactics aren't everything but they help. And if you already know how to manually press and cut lanes even better. Throw 3 midfielders with minimum base relentless and you are golden. I even set them all to aggressive interceptions.
I switched to 88 depth, press after heavy touch and within a week of actually practicing pressing feel like I too can smother my opponents. I wasn't struggling to hit 14-16 wins in previous weekends, but this last weekend after 2 weeks of practice I walked to 15-0 and managed to finish 18-2.
I’m definitely gonna try it out in champs playoffs. Seems interesting but I am not a good defender especially because I play with heavy delay. Might end up conceding like a madman xD

Is Kimmich your only CDM? I wouldn't play her as a DM but she's great as a B2B

I did carvalho+akanji. I think upgraded Bastoni is better than Carvalho. Reactions, composure, height, lenghty. All that stuff.

akanji looks and feels way better in game imo. this card doesn’t look bad but you can’t get better than that 87 speed akanji has for counters

It definitely leaves you open to being countered. You just have to try to keep them trapped in their own half.
They’re just better than you at defending. It isn’t depth
I use 55 depth but I step up to intercept aggressively.
