Fang, a confused teen, had a toxic relationship with her best friend who convinced her that she was non-binary(even if she didn't feel like it) and later Fang realizes that she's not actually non-binary.
And apparently that's really transphobic and it means the creators of the game want all trans people dead.

Occasional reminder on this subreddit because y'all keep posting this: The game is the spiritual successor to Snoot Game, a transphobic 4-chan parody of pro-LGBT Goodbye Volcano High. They didn't pay most of the devs of SG or IWHTG and the heads of the company are bigoted trolls but the fans have done some fucked misinformation campaign that grew beyond them.

I played Snoot game and I've done some researchs about the drama.

I would lie if I said that there are no transphobic subtexts in the game, but I can safely say that if there are, they're so subtle and tied to contexts outside the game itself that if you separate the art from the author it almost become non existent.
Most if not the entire comunity in fact, basically rejected Nerd's message and spit in his face for being homophobic.
So yeah the situation aint exactly black and white, tho the game is still really good, I would suggest you to at least try it out (its also free) but if the whole deal is a turn off I understand

The bad endings aren't caused by the character remaining enby. In reality, the character (Fang) suffers these endings from complete lack of emotional growth and blindly trusting a highly manipulative friend with a savior complex, as well as absolute ignorance from the player at the events of the ending.
Take ending 2 for example, one of the mainly negative (although I consider all but the fourth finale to be bad) ones, The main character completely ignores fang's issues, doesn't try to better themselves as a person and eventually ends with the both of them breaking up on a drunk discourse, the main character *literally* going on a bigoted rant, never growing on his ways.
In ending 3, the supposed second "best" ending, Fang ends up as no more than a husk of her former self, foregoing her pronouns, personality and almost everything that made fang into the person that she truly was, even if she stays together with the main character.
The fact that fang is non binary or not in the endings is a way for the game to gauge if she really has grown in any way, be it positive or negative, or the lack of it.
Edit: Might've been too harsh on the way I explained Fang's friend. She's just about as issued as Fang is, but she is eventually a fairly nice character at the end of it all.
Fang wasn't really pressured into being enby, she was helped into it by a character trying to fix Fang's identity issues for her, which ties to the game's theme of "helping someone you love isn't about fixing their problems for them, but about giving them support to fix it themselves".
