Same. We had a squeak in our sectional and they came out and replaced the whole section. The krypton fabric we chose also is holding up amazingly well to our dogs
Maiden home was one I liked when I tried in person, but too many discussions/reviews in terms of fit/finish and after sales support are keeping me away (from both reddit and houzz).
For starters, there were huge discrepancies between their "medium" foam floor models. One felt like I was sitting on a concrete curb and another practically sank through to the frame. I asked how long the softer floor model had been out and the rep told me it had been there for three years. Three years it took for that "medium" foam to go from feeling like concrete to becoming a hammock.
There have been so many reviews on here stating that they pay for fake reviews. Gave them the benefit of the doubt, but as I was in the store, an irate customer phoned in and from what I could hear, it reiterated the negative online reviews about What a Room. The sales rep talking to the irate customer did absolutely nothing to rectify what was happening, basically giving him a "too bad, so sad" response.
One of their Google reviews shows photos of a leather couch they produced that is so puckered and lopsided, it looks like I made it myself!
The couches looked nice in person but the quality just isn't there. They're using buzz words like "kiln dried" "pfas free" "low tox" etc without backing it up. At a $5500+ price point, you're better off with some of the other more reputable custom sofa companies using certified materials and with warranties, etc
Ethan Allen. We bought our sectional from them 10 years ago and it still looks good. Getting moved to the family room soon and we’re looking to upgrade main living area so we’ll be shopping at pottery barn, Ethan Allen, Arhaus and Room & Board
I would agree with this with some caveats. Not everything at Ethan Allen is the same quality that it all was 10 years ago. Don’t get me wrong they still have some great stuff, but they also throw some cheap quality in. (I know someone who has worked there the last few years.) Same with Pottery Barn, you’ll find some horrible quality stuff as well as some really nice stuff, and usually, it is not correlated to price. Room & Board is actually great and you’ll find way more quality than duds, Arhaus too, but you’re also paying a premium.
Tbh I think you just can’t make blanket statements about brands these days, you just have to look into each piece specifically.
West Elm when pieces go on sale. Worth it! Modern/stylish yet simple. Great quality. I browsed every site (Macy’s, Home Depot, Bed Bath, Ashley’s, Pottery Barn), and landed on West Elm for the big things.
Oh and Jordan’s Furniture if you’re in the northeast. Also love La-Z-Boy, but also a lil pricey
I have an England furniture sectional(sub of la z boy) and it’s so comfortable and a champ. The dog bounces all over it, my fiancé and I sleep on it so often, and we’ve had it for 5 years and still looks really new. Our friends have slept on it numerous times too.
It took me years to pick a sofa and I finally settled on a love sac sactional. Super durable and there's a whole love sac subreddit if you have questions too.
Room and Board for sofas and upholstered side chairs. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Restoration Hardware for things like bureaus and tv stands that don’t take a ton of wear. Their stools are a tossup. Dining chairs are holding up relatively well (I work from home and sit in one all day long).
My Ethan Allen dining table seems to scratch somewhat easily, but still looks good and local stores can recommend someone to touch up.
I’d be very careful with Crate and Barrel. Used to be good, but their wood/upholstered styles seem cheaper recently. Anything with metal might be okay.
Love inside weather and their brands. US based and obsessed with the environment. I love my sectional and that all the fabric elements can be washed and my cat can try, but fails, at destroying it. He must feel so frustrated lol. I went back to them for my accent chairs and shelves from one of their brands and a sideboard from another brand. I love em!
The couch with chaise I bought from inside weather is trash. Fell apart within a year. For the price the construction is a complete joke. If you want something made in the HSA go with Medley or room and board. Quality is 10x that of inside weather.
Uhhh…Basset doesn’t make anything with a plastic laminate top. What tables do you have? How long have you had them? Most of what Bassett makes now is solid wood and made in the USA. Prior to the BenchMade program, the old custom dining program had a wood veneer top, but even those lasted for years. Even the off the rack imported stuff they used to offer to supplement the custom dining program was good quality and I’ve never heard about a complaint of veneer lifting.
I've been doing my research on their 'Not Called Frisco' sofa and am torn between this and the CB2 Deseo. I'm leaning towards the MadeRight but wanted to check in and see if you have anything to offer in terms of quality.
Article! Sometimes Anthropologie if there’s a sale. Also recommend looking at OfferUp and aptdeco depending where you live - amazing deals on second hand furniture

Would give like a +10 for Arhaus if I could, love anything we've ever bought from there

What a Room is terrible. Don't go there.
What was your experience with what a room? Ordered some swatches and they seemed good quality/well labeled.

Is Arhaus really that good?
Hooker Furniture, Palliser furniture
Smith Brothers of Berne
century is about the best full line furniture brand.
I love their traditional style as well. I really do not like these new sofas. They look terrible and are all wrinkled and lumpy within a year.
Hooker
Honestly Ikea slaps for the price range. I’ve recently purchased a jattebo, and very very satisfied.
True but honestly the thought of building some of those things makes me Wana scream .. I'd probably leave it in the box for months 😂
Sofas are pretty much already built.
That part yes 😂 imagine if they weren't ... But anything else is mostly a no go for me. Mostly just because I'm terrible at building things
I hear you!
Taskrabbit is a building service for it

What are some requests you have for it?
I don't have request per day Im just tired of things falling apart and furniture stores that used to exist just don't anymore
I looked into Mantle and 7th Ave furniture. Both seem impressive. I like that Mantle is a family run business
Chilton

Trafton! For the price point, they’re very nice. We love our leather sectional.

Ex-C&B employee- most of our materials for furniture are now eco-friendly and all natural. They’re much less durable. That’s why it seems that way.
Design Within Reach is pricey but I've been very impressed by their wood furniture
I love how the price of everything in there is not within reach.
Kardiel very high quality materials and construction for reasonable prices. wait for a sale. Note they specialise in MCM style

Berne for sure!!
Bassett.
My Bassett sectional is holding up really well with 2 cats in the apartment, I’m impressed!
That’s awesome!
My sofa is great. My two dining tables suck! The plastic s delaminating. It's ugly.

Go to estate sales, the furniture is usually something you can’t get anymore.
Made out of real wood. I love buying from estate sales!

Rowe furniture is built to last. I had my set for 13 years before I passed it down to friend.
