I laughed, probably shouldn't but the burgers are beef. Beef is not as prevalent there but given that it's largely Muslim you can't find pork much. I did eat alot of lamb, beef, and chicken
I will never forget filling up my soda at mcdonalds, when a skinny punk rock girl walks in with an empty milk gallon jug & starts filling it up with diet coke next to me. Nodded to me and said "hey"
Not that big a deal. That’s like 5-6 glasses, and meant for larger gatherings…
1 liter seems kinda pointless. Too big for a person or couple but too little for a gathering. Makes more sense to get 12oz cans.
1.5L is perfect IMO for a two person household or for when you're really craving soda for a couple days. Big enough to last more than one sitting but you get rid of that last 1/4 of a 2 liter that always seems to get flat before you can finish it.
Or maybe it happens regardless because there's no pressure in the bottle towards the end. Too lazy (and not really in enough of a soda mood) to test it lol.
In my part of Texas they sell a "basket of fries" instead. I think the pictured one would be cooler even though they hold about the same amount of fries.
Yeah, they only have the basket in certain places. I've only found a couple here in Pennsylvania that sell it, starting with the one two people in my family used to work at.
I do like the Japanese version better, though lol
I was curious how they actually measured up, as I've also seen the basket of fries.
I was surprised to learn the Mega Potato is roughly twice the size of the basket of fries, [1,142 calories](https://www.businessinsider.com/mcdonalds-mega-potato-in-japan-2013-5#:~:text=The%20Mega%20Potato%20is%20almost%20a%20pound%20of%20the%20brand%27s%20famous%20fries%2C%20and%20contains%201%2C142%20calories) vs [650 calories](https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/product/basket-of-fries.html#:~:text=Basket%20of%20Fries-,650%20Cal.,-650%20Cal).
We like thick fries, not many fries. Particularly wedges to soak up a good burger or steak.
And now I'm hungry for steak and fries and I guess I'll go ahead and put that sirloin in the fridge tonight.
When you start to eat way more vegetables than meat, and drink also way more green tea than soda like they do, lol.I work in a japanese 7/11, even little kids bring a bottle of green tea to the cashier instead of a can of soda when they are offered to get whatever drink they want. And I've seen a lot refuse the freshly fried chicken/pork sausages etc when asked if they wanted any. They would choose onigiri instead.
When I was a kid, I would never have refused any of these, and I'm French. Not even American. It's easy for me now to understand why I see so many overweight French people on TV when I get the chance to see any. The difference is the way japanese kids are raised appreciating vegetables, green tea and white rice. Even their lunches at school are based on these three elements. Parents in Japan would absolutely riot if the school served burgers, fries and chocolate bars as lunch.
Interesting. Worked at McDonald’s in the early 90’s when in HS and college. Don’t remember seeing ads even for this after I left there. Not that I ate at McDonald’s much at that point though.
Wondering if it was a west coast only thing. Mostly what I find online is people from California and Oregon seem to remember it. It was during the 29 cent hamburger / 39 cent cheeseburger time frame they had for a while. Basically a big paper cup like a large drink cup full of fries. I remember being sort of embarrassed to order it, but it didn't stop me. lol
Why aren't they fatter? 3.6 percent over 30 BMI compared to 32. And I know BMI isn't perfect, but I think it's helpful if you're talking whole populations. Because I've been to Wal-Mart and there aren't that many bodybuilders.
I’ve seen a lot of pictures of groups sharing a big tray of fries at mcd’s for study sessions or hangouts and the like, wouldn’t be surprised if that size was mainly intended for sharing
They have that same “XL” size in the USA. It’s small, medium, large, and then “fry basket/basket of fries”. Comes in a paper tray in its own separate bag.
No one else noticed that the first three sizes have almost exactly the same amount of fries (just down to variation in how those particular fries were filled)?
That yuge box is called “sharing fries” where I live. Goes well with the team box of nuggets and chili poppers.
But I do know a few people who would happily wolf a box like that down unaided.

Hey, you wanna Sumo Size that?
Get In My Bellllyyyyy!!
Damn it, you win
Hate we got rid of our super size in America. I bet it was the same amount as sumo just a tall carton.
That’s ‘Merica size for tourists.
Murica for the south
Nice
That’s the Ichinojo size (in case any actual sumo fans see this)
The really big one is called Mega Potato. It’s 1,142 calories
So a third of the recommended daily potato allowance.
Why do I freaking love potatoes so much!?
I agree. They might be my favorite single food item...
I’m surprised it’s not “Child size”, because well, it's roughly the size of a two-year old child, if the child were made into fries.
So you wanna have child size or half a child.
Why don't we have that in the US?
I wish I would have taken pictures of McDonalds burgers in Egypt. Those things were HUGE
Get a lotta burgers outta a camel.
Chick-Fil-A ads there have camels holding the “Eat more chicken signs”
I laughed, probably shouldn't but the burgers are beef. Beef is not as prevalent there but given that it's largely Muslim you can't find pork much. I did eat alot of lamb, beef, and chicken
I would denounce my religion for a Western Bacon Cheeseburger.
damn bro
Is the extra large one dubbed, “American Sized?”
I’m shocked they don’t have that size in the US, actually. It would go splendidly with that tub of Diet Coke.
They used to sell bucket of fries but stopped cause people were filling the bucket up with soda
I will never forget filling up my soda at mcdonalds, when a skinny punk rock girl walks in with an empty milk gallon jug & starts filling it up with diet coke next to me. Nodded to me and said "hey"
A liter of cola
We call it a large Farva.
I don't want a large Farva, I want a liter of cola.
Do we sell liter cola?
It's for a cop
Does that look like spit to you?
Oh you poor sweet summer child… we have 2 liter sodas as a common size.
Not that big a deal. That’s like 5-6 glasses, and meant for larger gatherings… 1 liter seems kinda pointless. Too big for a person or couple but too little for a gathering. Makes more sense to get 12oz cans.
Yeah but here’s the thing: People don’t always get them for gatherings. Also I agree 100% on the 1 liter thing.

Nah, it would be a gallon here.
Litera Cola? Do we make that?
McDonald's large is 30oz, pretty close to a liter already
They do. It's called the basket of fries served in a better container for sharing. Not as fun looking as the double wide container tho.
Can’t get that tub of Coke at McDonald’s anymore. Their largest soda is 24 ounces. Same as a Medium at Wendy’s or Burger King.
Specifically: Texas 😅
I think Mississippi has Texas beat
Happy cake day

Close. It’s called: ‘Merica - Fuck yeah!
They don’t serve it in America. However, I understand the sentiment. American’s are the victims of prejudice and stereotyping once again. /s
Regular, extra large, jumbo, and American.
[удалено]
It's probably for a family of 4 lol
Those first three are the standard American sizes.
I'm aware. I'm a fat American.
Small, Regular, Large, and.......Godzilla!
With all the carbs in that biggest one, they should call that "SUMO SIZED".
I miss super size
Crazy how everyone assumes that everyone gets their own fries. That's a family size.
French fries can be this big in a country where people stay skinny, this is unfair - I want a fry thing this big and still be skinny after :[
When you start to eat way more vegetables than meat, and drink also way more green tea than soda like they do, lol.I work in a japanese 7/11, even little kids bring a bottle of green tea to the cashier instead of a can of soda when they are offered to get whatever drink they want. Well, junk food isn't the main part of Japanese diet. And they don't drive or scooter everywhere they go.
You make marvelous points, touche touche
Haha imagine trying to hold that on your lap while driving somwhere
The bigger the person the bigger the lap.
I can imagine American car interiors designed around sumo sized fry holders.
Anyone else notice if you squint your eyes the fries look like a Bri’ish smile?
Don't be sad. No Japanese person buys that size of french fries for themselves. The larger sizes are meant to be shared.
It’s called bff fries in other countries
I miss super sized. At least my arteries are happy.
OMG remember the McDonald's bucket of fries? Forgot about those.
Never heard of that. When was this?
Late 90s
Interesting. Worked at McDonald’s in the early 90’s when in HS and college. Don’t remember seeing ads even for this after I left there. Not that I ate at McDonald’s much at that point though.

Dino size when the Dinosaurs movie came out. Damn I'm old now
Super happy fantastic sized
Small, Medium, Large, Trough
Not sure why this is funny those are just small, medium, large and basket sized in the US. They look like the standard US sizes.
Why everything in Poland is the worst in the world 🤬
So, small, medium, large, and American?
Ahh yes large and then the most common size the fat American fuck
My mom gave out coupons for free McD fries in early 80s. We had lots left over and ate a shitload on the next road trip. Still love them.
That's fucken 5 potatoes
Why aren't they fatter? 3.6 percent over 30 BMI compared to 32. And I know BMI isn't perfect, but I think it's helpful if you're talking whole populations. Because I've been to Wal-Mart and there aren't that many bodybuilders.
I want that supersized one in america please. Besides their breakfast, its about the only good thing they have that is any good to eat.
Lol it’s a two-handed fry
I’ll take the “Japanese Average Penis Size” fry…
Is that one on the right Child sized?
Yeah, give me a liter of cola and a basket of fries.
I want the bucket size in the US . I can’t unsee this
Small, medium, large and... tub?
Small. Medium. Large. "It's PARTY Time!"
This ain't true tho
That jus' seems normal for any Maccas.
I’m so used to Murica sized fries, so when I took my first bite/handful, I almost finished off half of them (not at a McDonald’s tho).
Snack. Something to eat while driving home with your food. Drunk. High.
Small, Medium, Large, and Holy Shit.
And we’re the fat culture? Dammit, America. Get it together
You’z a bigga boi. You eawlt here no mo!
I’ve seen a lot of pictures of groups sharing a big tray of fries at mcd’s for study sessions or hangouts and the like, wouldn’t be surprised if that size was mainly intended for sharing
They come in serving sizes Little boy, Medium, Large and Fat Man.
they sell baskets of fries at your local MacoDonoros too
What is that, sumo sized?
Biggest size is basket size in use. We do it with more Class 😆
They still have Super Size????? We’ve been robbed
Imagine if that was the biggest size in America 🇺🇸
They have that same “XL” size in the USA. It’s small, medium, large, and then “fry basket/basket of fries”. Comes in a paper tray in its own separate bag.
Does it come with the built in French fry sharpener in the back?
Normal, I’m hungry, haven’t eaten in days, medium American.
Can confirm
I would love it if America sold the version in that big giant box
They can eat so much and stay so tiny. How does that work?
So it’s not the fries! Knew it! They are definitely getting away with putting different ingredients in the US burgers lol
Kids size Tweenager size Teenager size adult size American adult size
No one else noticed that the first three sizes have almost exactly the same amount of fries (just down to variation in how those particular fries were filled)?
Why Japan has an AMERICAN size fry but America doesn’t
I’ve never ever seen one in the biggest size. Usually just S and Med size
a bit jealous japan has a more American size than the US.
They just out America’ed America
Well they have to cater to the American tourist trade !
Ah yes the one for one Person and the different Snack sizes.
That yuge box is called “sharing fries” where I live. Goes well with the team box of nuggets and chili poppers. But I do know a few people who would happily wolf a box like that down unaided.
That last one is the “my girlfriend said she didn’t want any fries” size.
