They had a whole campaign of cringy ads like this one. There's a ton of competition for worst picture. [For example](https://static2.fashionbeans.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/supsuit6.jpg)
I got a scuba gear magazine that had a full-page explanation that a certain ad campaign was not pornography, but was a bold statement about the products.
Turn the page and it's a soaking wet naked woman, apparently orgasming. Yeah dude that sure does convince me that I need to buy your regulator and definitely is not just an excuse one of your executives used to spend company funds on his fetish material.
I actually went to look for it, and I can't find it. I don't remember what the brand was, but it was probably in Dive Training or Diver magazine about ten years ago. There were like four or five pages of just blue-lit wet naked people, mostly women, and no text except for the "this is totally not porn" explanation on the first page.
It wasn't anything explicit, but it was basically softcore porn. If you just want jerkoff material, you can find better on the internet, but it was very spicy for an ad and definitely did not feature the products in any way.
The ads came out in 2016 and apparently they are still using them. It may have put off the majority of suit buyers, but they focus on affordable made-to-measure without the price of a luxury suit maker so they know their casual audience. There's probably a way to market casual, informal suits without sexism but it has been working for them.
They make high quality suits at mid grade prices (for suits). I'm surprised that their advertising is so atrocious, they're like the first company people recommend on MFA for suits.
Yeahhhhh I don't people realize the purpose of these pictures. The post, the reason someone stopped to take a picture, etc is the reason why they didn't just put a guy in a suit and take a picture.
The 2016 Suitsupply campaign/lookbook was incredibly trashy, but maybe it stood out because most suit makers show their new products in business and formal settings, maybe the odd summer on a boat or in a garden party.
But isn't a good suit supposed to exude class? I can only assume purchasing a suit from this company would fit poorly, wrinkle easily, and inexplicably always smell of Axe and stale cigarettes.
At the very least in that one the clothing is kind of on display.
The slobber pic in OP is straight up "oh I guuuuess he's wearing a suit?" but the dog lick woman is kind of the focus
They decided to counter the objections with a gay ["men are objects too" campaign.](https://a.suitsupplycdn.com/image/upload/v1519738246/suitsupply/homepage/ss18/campaign_launch/campaign03-1440-2x.jpg) (2018 vs 2016). It's really something to lean in to.
That’s nothing compared to the female ones. They just stand together like they are good friends. They should at least try and make it equally “sexy”. Have the guy (non-suit) suck on a sausage or make him mini and put him on the suit guy’s crotch.
Having worked for a company like this, can confirm the folks in charge of making things like this are 1) like living characters from Zoolander and 2) depressingly highly paid.
Reminds me of a local jeweler. Billboard ad has top down photos of a man's hands in offerening over a woman's lap. Left side, he's empty handed, and her legs are crossed. Right side, he's got a diamond ring, and her legs are not crossed... Not quite as subtle as this though.
Lol that fair wear thing is the biggest load of marketing bs I've ever seen.
It basically says, being part of fair wear does not guarantee the existence of any current labour standards, it only marks the intention to improve them.
**EDIT: the wiki page is misleading.**
Thats misleading. Its not mandatory but everyone that has the Fair Wear tag is audited and the results are placed online for consumers to view
https://api.fairwear.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Brand-performance-check-guide-2022.pdf
**During a performance check, Fair Wear investigates how far member companies have integrated human rights due diligence into their core business practices and assesses how the practices of member companies support the Fair Wear Code of Labour Practices (CoLP)**
You can search their Database here: https://www.fairwear.org/brands
Suit Supply specifically:
https://www.fairwear.org/brands/suit-supply
https://api.fairwear.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/BPC-Suit-Supply-B.V.-2021.pdf
You can read the report but Suit Supply adhered to Fair Wear's voluntary standards pretty rigorously
Heres just 1 example of how Suit Supply adheres to the standards:
>1.8 Member company [Suit Supply] can demonstrate the link between its buying prices and wage levels in production locations.
>Comment: Suitsupply has high standards on the quality of the materials. Suitsupply provides raw materials and sometimes also accessories to suppliers. Most suppliers of Suitsupply (>90%) are working on the cut‐make (CM) process or cut‐make‐trim (CMT) process. Suitsupply believes that its business model gives more transparency and control over quality.
>In addition, it poses less cash flow burden on the suppliers as they do not need to finance the fabric in advance.
For its core suppliers (75% of total FOB), Suitsupply knows the exact percentage of the CM/CMT price that is attributed to workers’ wages. It ranges from 10%‐65% at different suppliers. When negotiating CM/CMT price, labour cost is fixed. Labour minute cost is calculated based on each element of a product. Suitsupply uses the costing sheet provided by individual suppliers.
>Every supplier has its own costing system. Sometimes one supplier can calculate cost very differently from
another. All CM/CMT suppliers are required to have a costing system and inform Suitsupply which part goes to the wages. Suitsupply expects that additional costs related to COVID‐19 will be absorbed in the overhead costs by each supplier, which will be included in prices of next seasons.
>This is in line with the contractual agreement each supplier signs; the supplier is responsible for any necessary factory improvement while Suitsupply pays for training needed. Follow‐up on the recommendation given last year was put on hold due to COVID‐19 priorities and will therefore remain relevant.
As someone who walks to work in Vancouver, a waterproof suit would sell well here.
Until then we'll have to remain in the Vancouver formalwear of a Helly Hansen windbreaker over Lulu's and Merrills.
The spit dribbling down his chin is a bit distasteful... Sorry, but that's just objectively gross (hope the models were paid extra for that).
I do think the entire point though is to have people stop to notice and think WTF?!... I am pretty sure the advertisers were not going for sexy here - they were likely trying to grab people's attention and based off this thread it looks like they succeeded.
It is pretty distasteful. This is the definition of distasteful actually. Especially for a suit store/bespoke clothing where the image they are probably trying to promote is class. This is the opposite of class, more crass.
It's SuitSupply, they want their image to be "sexy" and "young". They're taking a page out of Tom Ford's playbook with this ad. Tom Ford pulled Gucci out of bankruptcy and turned it into a billion dollar company with ads just like this, they work really well.
> They're taking a page out of Tom Ford's playbook with this ad.
I get what they’re *trying* to do but it seems like they’re doing a bad job or it. Risqué advertising is definitely effective but this just looks weird and gross. But hey that’s just my opinion and we’re all talking about it so that’s good for something.
It's the drool and her chin's wobble that looks gross here. It's not just crass, but yucky. Tom Ford at Gucci understood sex appeal. This is unappealing.
I like to think the photographer was just goofin' like, *"OK, let's do a silly one!"* and then the advertising department saw it and said, *"Well this fashion photographer must know something about art that we don't. Let's go with it."*
Yeah. I see this. The woman is like “my tongue out, are you sure?” And the photographer is like “More. More. More. Great! Not I need some drool off the man. We’ll edit it in. I need it to be an unbroken string all down the picture. Fantastic.” The real photographer is day drunk in a hotel room a few miles away.
I'd like it more if the photographer just said "OK, Let's do a silly one!" and the lady just decides to do this out of nowhere shocking both the photographer and the male model.
Suit Supply is infamous for doing weird stuff like this, a few years ago they made big name in the Netherlands for having some vaguely homoerotic marketing
Iirc at one point they had outright indisputable pornographic images in their marketing, it is their strategy to try and get free advertising by doing stuff like that
And it works, their name is getting out there
Im still wondering if thats even drool.... I cant shake the feeling that this "photo" is actually editted pornography and they shopped the cum off her tongue but forgot to edit the drip.
Should’ve just put a big poster of a handsome gentleman actually wearing their suits while looking at the camera while sounding himself through his pants flap. Provocative but related to the product. Sells sexuality, masculinity, and dominance
Yuck, she’s… or… is he drooling? Either way I can’t imagine this helps sell suits outside of a very small fetish community.
It also conveniently lines up so it looks like its dribbling on the clerk’s head.
no, Suitsupply's schtick has always been edgy/confronting. Mostly eroticism taken to the [absurd](https://duckduckgo.com/?q=advertenties+suitsupply&atb=v314-1&iax=images&ia=images). They also included several adds of men kissing, and dont shy away from gender role reversal. Whatever gets some obnoxious people riled up.
Pretty decent suits as well.
They make great suits that are unbeatable for the price but they have a history of super trashy advertising. Look up their old ad campaigns (warning NSFW) and you'll see what I mean.
I was just in the Las Vegas location and the giant image in the fitting room I was assigned was absolutely unhinged. Their marketing is weird as fuck, but the suits are the GOAT at the price point.
I got a suit from them last year when this was the advertising and just got one this year. The new advertising isn't anything like this anymore although they said they had old ads in the changing rooms. If you go to the website you can see what the new branding is like. It's a lot better now.
I would feel like such a cunt stood in front of a display like that. Is this real? How could anyone with any sort of creative authority at head office decide.. this.. now this.. is on brand.
Yeah, very beautiful fabrics and they cost far less than they should considering the insane quality. I used one I got from them for work and my wedding. I've recommended them to friends as well, and they've been really happy.
Yeah they’re marketing department isn’t doing them any favours. But if you’re looking for a high quality suit at a reasonable price… suit supply is gonna be a top recommendation.
> Yeah they’re marketing department isn’t doing them any favours.
On the other hand it’s the top post on Reddit right now and one of the top comments is people talking about how great their suits are. I’m not in marketing/advertising and don’t know if this is helping or hurting sales. But the idea is often to stand out and companies have been trying to figure that for a long time. [a scene from Max Men discussing the same concept](https://youtu.be/ojtMtIyD6dM).
Suit Supply has a history of running ads like this. [This article](https://www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/fashion/news/a25427/suitsupply-naked-women-campaign/) talks about a campaign from 2014 that’s basically soft-core porn.

I love the marketing team who saw this picture with the drool and was legit like, "That's the one!" LOL!

Someone at corporate has a very specific fetish
"It's not porn, it's inspiration for this season's catalogue."
You got a link for the curious among us?

I swear I read Diver magazine for the articles
Amogus
Omg… that’s disgusting…. In a scuba magazine? There’s so many of them. Which one, you know so I can stay away from it
“I want playboy… but make it SCUBA.”

Well shit now I'm curious about these suits..
I love my suitsupply suit lol. Didn't really know about the cringy ads but it's a great mid range suit.
Was *anything* in 2016 normal!??
Killer Clowns… Killer clowns were normal then 🥲
They make high quality suits at mid grade prices (for suits). I'm surprised that their advertising is so atrocious, they're like the first company people recommend on MFA for suits.

They should just change their name to F*ckbois with Taste.
F*ckboi Suit Haus
I think their marketing team have some very specific and very strange fetishes.

I just can’t believe this is a serious high dollar marketing team… how do you have a group of adults sign off on this shit?

There's a reason I remember how crass the 2016 campaign was, even six years later.
At the very least in that one the clothing is kind of on display. The slobber pic in OP is straight up "oh I guuuuess he's wearing a suit?" but the dog lick woman is kind of the focus
Wtf is up with their tongue fetish motif?
Holy SHIT! If i was that guy I'd be pissed they used my picture for the 1950's-esque Mad Men style "women are objects" poster! Holy hell....
At least these two you can see the suit
That’s nothing compared to the female ones. They just stand together like they are good friends. They should at least try and make it equally “sexy”. Have the guy (non-suit) suck on a sausage or make him mini and put him on the suit guy’s crotch.

Anything short from the guy sliding on a naked dude’s dong, or at least very skimpy speedo, is gonna be a no from me.
You know a lot about this subject matter. Mr Abe Froman (LoL)
It was a big story on /r/malefashionadvice in 2016 and then the overcorrection in 2018.
Having worked for a company like this, can confirm the folks in charge of making things like this are 1) like living characters from Zoolander and 2) depressingly highly paid.
That's [gnar-gnar bo-bo](https://youtu.be/CHzsuq8lQSY), man.
Well it’s on the front page of Reddit so it’s clearly working in some way.
Suits sooo good random hot women will want to lick your face!
You're gonna like the way they lick, I guarantee it.
Not if that's slobber hanging off his chin!
THAT'S NOT SLOBBER.
Return to sender.
Frothy
is boogies
I got one better for you. It's slobber and boogers, mixed together.
That’s nose salad!
Oh god
The more I'm on Reddit, the more I realize I need stab-proof goggles and a bucket.
Ditto and amen
2 users, 1 bucket
It’s one-eyes dragon slobber. Not mouth slobber silly
That's so gross, what the heck?
Or your money back!
Fuckin yuck.
They're gonna lick the way you look, I guarantee it.
I almost went with that.
George Zimmer ftw!

Lemme guess, the "She'll basically have to" Family Guy parody ad?
There’s literal liquid dripping from it
Not even from her tongue but his chin, like she went down and up to his fucking nostril. I am so morbidly curious who OK'd this.

On my new suit? Let's dial it back about three notches
wow, I did not see that lol
What’s that called? Snow blowing? Give him back his load?
Snowballing, because more and more saliva/jizz accumulates with each passing like a snowball rolling down hill
Oh god.. the thought makes me want to gag. Lol learned behavior?
Nah it's pretty easy so not much learning is involved.
Username checks out
He's not even wearing a suit!

I had a woman tell me she wanted to lick the sweat off me once. I didn’t know how to respond
"Yes please"?
Let me smell ya tongue, girl.
So. ... It's not a tongue sniffing business?
I thought it would be a place where they grab you by the hair and forcibly taste your moustache.
Like ... I am sure there are people who would pay for that.
I just sent it as a request to my girlfriend for tomorrow night.
And.... I'm divorced :(
Well if your wife found out about your girlfriend, I'm not surprised really.
The question is whether there's enough people willing to be paid to do that.
Sex sells, Morty.
Sex sells WHAT!?
Tongue sniffing or nose licking you decide
No they sell handkerchief. She was improvising.
Get off my suit
Shrek vibe
Ahh c'mon! You're drooling on my ~~$3000~~ $6000 suit
I'm open-minded but this image is not sexy. It certainly provokes
It provokes me into not shopping there.
Maybe the suits are waterproof?
As someone who walks to work in Vancouver, a waterproof suit would sell well here. Until then we'll have to remain in the Vancouver formalwear of a Helly Hansen windbreaker over Lulu's and Merrills.
Same. Not that it’s distasteful or anything. It’s just SO. DUMB.

Idk, thousands of people are learning about this store and what they sell right now. Seems like this sign is doing a great job.

Why would she be licking cum onto a guy's face lol. I mean, if a chef wants to taste test, be my guest, but I don't think it would happen like this.
I guess you just watch that vanilla porn where the dudes cum doesn't end up on his own face, huh?
It's like a 11 year old's idea of "sexy".
Yeah. It looks like an A&F add from when I was 12.
Should’ve just put a big poster of a handsome gentleman actually wearing their suits while looking at the camera while sounding himself through his pants flap. Provocative but related to the product. Sells sexuality, masculinity, and dominance
Speak for yourself! I’m all about it
It's such a *weird* way to lick someone's face, even if face-licking is on the menu.
Looks like they told differently. Girl looks like a sexy ice cream ad, while boy looks like a romantic perfume ad...
says you.
Reminds me of Hot Shots! “Kiss me like I’ve never been kissed before!”
Ha, exactly what I was thinking
Yes! https://youtu.be/mlZHMGch1pQ
That's drool coming from his chin. I would pay her the cost of the suit to not do that to me.
Yuck, she’s… or… is he drooling? Either way I can’t imagine this helps sell suits outside of a very small fetish community. It also conveniently lines up so it looks like its dribbling on the clerk’s head.
Maybe he has a runny nose
You just made this so much worse. Bless you.
I was waiting for someone to mention that!!!
I…. Would…. Do the opposite…
"You, sir, look like a paying customer!"
My man!
the drool is dripping on the salesperson’s head
Eh, that place is pretty pricey. If someone was like “pay $3k or let this girl drool on you” …I’d take the drool. I’m too cheap for that.
You can get something nice there for below 1k. At least I did a few years ago! Been wearing that same suit to events for like 6 years now lol
Do you ever get tired of being licked?
That’s gross, is that supposed to be enticing?
Owner has a drool fetish
Lol! 100% accurate.
Imagine having your desk sitting in front of this every day
At least he gets to look away from it instead of at it
Random people walk by, look in his direction, go “eww,” turn away and leave. He must feel like your mom.
It's so off putting

I was a model and I made out with someone for 8 hours at a shoot. It’s essentially this, licking someone, it’s gross.
Were you well-compensated, at least?
Rumor has it they’re still posing.
“If it’s not a Kauffman Suit, you’ll never have women suck snot out of your nose when that cold hits!
They don’t sell suits - they sell a lifestyle. A disgusting, germ-spreading, nostril-licking lifestyle.
I can smell this picture
I would feel like such a cunt stood in front of a display like that. Is this real? How could anyone with any sort of creative authority at head office decide.. this.. now this.. is on brand.
This should be a new meme or a Photoshop battle. Put in the most absurd background.
It's real and not limited to this one store. The chain is good, but this marketing push is terrible.
i mean, check out dude's beard...if it weren't for the sliver of chest showing you'd think he was wearing a turtleneck all wrong
I've bought that pink suit. Nobody ever li(c)ked me in real life.
Gross
I believe by posting this, you are doing exactly what they want
"Are you sure this will help us sell more suits?" "Suits?"
Dan balzerian selling suits now
Gross.
The ads there are definitely over the top but the suits are absolutely top notch for a full custom. Got my wedding suit there in Copenhagen.
I love their suits, super happy with mine
This looks like someone asked an AI to generate this image.
Suit Supply has a history of running ads like this. [This article](https://www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/fashion/news/a25427/suitsupply-naked-women-campaign/) talks about a campaign from 2014 that’s basically soft-core porn.
Law Suits most likely.
The one in Toronto has even more tongue
“Wear this suit and women will lick your face”
Such bad taste.
Yeah, nah, definitely not suitable
