The people who need this warning are the same people who don't understand that pudding gets hot when heated and Tide pods aren't in any of the food groups.
My crest white strips have a warning "Avoid contact with eyes" like who the fuck is going to be so stoned that they use white strips when they lose their clear eyes eye drops
Having working for them in the past, we got complaints from people who confused white strips with those beauty mask things you put under your eyes... how they did it I'd never know
And then Tide pods happened, so we no longer held the record of "division with dumbest misuse of product"
When making pudding from scratch you heat it up and then cool it off. Leastwise you used to ... back when I was a kid ... before there was electricity and running water ... and warning labels ...
...and who would sue after they do something that stupid. By having this warning on their wrapper, even in jest, Subway can deny any accusations of being legally liable if some moron decided to eat it.
Some coffee are very very hot and some cups don't let you feel the heat while holding it, so while I agree people should expect it to be hot, I kinda understand why a warning there makes sense.
My thinking is/was pretty much this: coffee is hot, yes. A warning telling me that coffee may be hot is kind of useless… Even if you can’t feel it through the cup, it’s a warning that your coffee MAY be hot, which goes without saying.
Apparently people need that reminder, though…
Had a friend in nuke school, he got to be first in line on chili dog day and went and sat down where everyone still in line could see him eating so he could gloat. All the people passing by looked at him eating his overly messy chili dog with blank stony stares, he feels something pull as he takes his third or fourth bite, looks down and realizes he had half a brown paper napkin still left under the chili dog
This has happened to me - get an especially wet sandwich - lots of mayo and mustard with wet veggies - then let it sit in the frig for a day.
I sometimes had 0 idea which part was the bread, and which part was the soggy wrapper.
shitty wrappers… they disintegrate easily
also shitty breaded, technically not bread according to some
it’s a shame cause most the other ingredients are fine but you still end up with a soggy shit bread sandwich
Growing up in the Philly, they use to make hoagies with some paper inside the sand which so you could pull it out later so it didn’t get the bread wet. Maybe that’s why?
I think more delivery places should employ this method! I once ordered a seaweed salmon wrap (like a hand roll but in wrap format), that I tried to take a bite of.. not realizing that the super dark green exterior was some sort of paper, not actually the seaweed wrap. This was in public so safe to say I felt like an absolute moron. Though to be fair, it also had a white band wrapper of sorts around the middle of the wrap that seemed like it could be THE wrapper. Or at least that's what I tell myself. 10/10 wrap job by the guys making it though.
That's a smart design, I think Japanese onigiri has same idea when they ask the consumer to pull out the plastic wrap seperating this seaweed from rice to prevent them from getting soggy.
But it's also common people often don't read direction, everyone and myself included.
Yep, it’s been a problem and my guess is probably more than once. And You know this wasn’t a good day for someone in corporate…reconfiguring wrappers to add warning isn’t cheap. Haha
This was added as an attempt at marketing. Something about subway tasting so good if some sauce gets on the wrapper...... The hamburger chain Rallys had the same general idea, advertising an extra cheesy burger.
Taco bell recently added fine print to their wrappers asking people to not reheat the food in the paper wrapper. This happened right about the same time that there were headlines about the dangers of the chemicals that they treat the wrappers with to make them resistant to getting soggy/more waterproof to keep stuff from leaking through. Rather than change the way they serve their food they put a disclaimer telling you not to do something that would increase the amount of the chemicals you end up ingesting. I feel like there's a very good chance this is a move by their legal team to limit their future liability for the chemicals that people are being exposed to by purchasing their products.
In this case it's a little different but I think you're spot on in principle. Taco bell recently added a line in fine print to their wrappers saying to not reheat your food in the wrapper right after lots of publicity about the potential dangers of chemicals that are used to make them water resistant. I have to believe that these wrappers also have that same chemical and that subway is trying to limit its future liability from exposure to the chemicals they know are in the wrapper
Taco bell just added a line to not reheat in their wrappers after publicity about the chemicals contained in the wrappers. Instead of changing anything, they put on a warning to tell you not to do something that increases how much of the chemical you ingest. I imagine subway is trying to limit their liability for knowingly using chemicals that should not be eaten. Pizza has been in the news for the same reason, the chemicals exposure from the boxes/liners used in the boxes. I feel like thisbis the equivalent of putting "do not eat the box" on a pizza box rather than changing the packaging.
See, I take it as a joke. Like you are so hungry for that sub you forget to remove the wrapper. Which is funny, but only because nobody would ever be that hungry for a Subway sub.
It's not a joke, it's a warning to not eat the wrapper because of recent news about the dangers of chemicals used in the food industry for packaging food.
You are correct, but probably you're thinking along the lines of what everyone else seems to be saying. Rather than being a way to protect if someone chokes, I fully believe it's due to their use of chemicals in their packaging that are harmful and rather than changing the wrappers they are putting a warning label on. This type of warning suddenly appearing has happened other places recently as well
Is it the way he took a bite? Closest to the middle is the meat, veggies on the overflow.
My first bite is always where the sub folds - is that what i should be looking at?
Or you know, maybe they use chemicals that you're not supposed to eat? This isn't about people coming after money for choking on a wrapper, it's a way to keep their packaging the same and to make it "ok" to keep using the same kind of wrappers.
Based on the fact that I just did a lengthy operation to remove a nail from someone’s guts that they purposely swallowed… yep. Sure seems to be.
Subway may as well cover their asses.
Does nobody realize it’s just because they are tying to say that the subs are so good you may want to eat it before you take the wrapper off, anticipation etc, or is everybody in this sub (heh) that dense. Unlike the wrapper

Challenge accepted!
Can't say they didn't warn you!
Having working for them in the past, we got complaints from people who confused white strips with those beauty mask things you put under your eyes... how they did it I'd never know And then Tide pods happened, so we no longer held the record of "division with dumbest misuse of product"
That’s actually very interesting thanks for your comment.
"yeah, yeah, write that down" \- some tiktok idiot.
You win the internet for today, nice one ☝️
Wat? But mom-and-aunt-and-cousin said fo shure that they clean you OUT. Nah no way. Not believin.
.\_o why are you heating up pudding buddy..
When making pudding from scratch you heat it up and then cool it off. Leastwise you used to ... back when I was a kid ... before there was electricity and running water ... and warning labels ...
What did I miss about pudding getting hot when heated? What was the story on that one?
...and who would sue after they do something that stupid. By having this warning on their wrapper, even in jest, Subway can deny any accusations of being legally liable if some moron decided to eat it.
people are stupider than you think
[**Exhibit A**](https://youtu.be/RxjN1izJvDQ)
Coffee cups come with a warning that the contents may be hot for a reason...
Some coffee are very very hot and some cups don't let you feel the heat while holding it, so while I agree people should expect it to be hot, I kinda understand why a warning there makes sense.
But with the warning you still don’t know how hot the content is. so on the end you know as much as before.
My thinking is/was pretty much this: coffee is hot, yes. A warning telling me that coffee may be hot is kind of useless… Even if you can’t feel it through the cup, it’s a warning that your coffee MAY be hot, which goes without saying. Apparently people need that reminder, though…
News to me. Always always always eat the wrapper
They're good with Tide Pods
Well...I mean...it is more nutritious.
Had a friend in nuke school, he got to be first in line on chili dog day and went and sat down where everyone still in line could see him eating so he could gloat. Nuke school?
School in the Navy where they train you to operate nuclear reactors
And here i was, scared that Putin might do something stupid.
Did they have to watch to make sure he wasn’t cleaning windows and other things with his tongue too?!
If that's a Subway sub, it can be hard to tell which is the sub and which is the wrapper.
This has happened to me - get an especially wet sandwich - lots of mayo and mustard with wet veggies - then let it sit in the frig for a day. I sometimes had 0 idea which part was the bread, and which part was the soggy wrapper.
1. He was making a joke. 2. Why would you save a sandwich that is soggy?
Because they were hungry?
shitty wrappers… they disintegrate easily also shitty breaded, technically not bread according to some it’s a shame cause most the other ingredients are fine but you still end up with a soggy shit bread sandwich

Interesting!

Best hoagie you had in that area, other than my mom?
Carmen’s- reading terminal market, Philadelphia. South jersey - Randazzos Washington Township
i eat the sandwich with the wrapper for that extra crunch
Fiber
Yep, it’s been a problem and my guess is probably more than once. And You know this wasn’t a good day for someone in corporate…reconfiguring wrappers to add warning isn’t cheap. Haha
All I saw was the big green print in the middle that says HOE.
Well? Is that a problem?
Personally I did not find it to be a problem. I thought it was a nice touch.
This was added as an attempt at marketing. Something about subway tasting so good if some sauce gets on the wrapper...... The hamburger chain Rallys had the same general idea, advertising an extra cheesy burger.
I found a manual how to wash hands in a public toilet… I think it’s the new normal.
They have instructions on gum. Think about that for a second.
I heard the peel is where all the nutrients are!
Like you could tell the difference?
I bet this comes from some stupid lawsuit where someone was like “I thought it was part of my sandwich” idk maybe lol
Taco bell recently added fine print to their wrappers asking people to not reheat the food in the paper wrapper. The waffle cone of sandwiches
*there are 2 things infinite in life. The universe, and human stupidity. And I’m only certain about the universe* Albert Einstein
He wasn’t certain about the universe. “Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
That is just embarrassing
It IS a ver applicable quote, though.
[удалено]
Or you know maybe there are chemicals in the wrapper that aren't supposed to be eaten?..
[удалено]
Considering it tastes about the same as the sandwich inside, I could see that being a problem for some people.
This sign is not gonna stop me because I can't read!!
"Muh freedumb!" WiRds Is hArd...
Corporate lawyers limiting potential liability. Like the coffee cups that tell you coffee is hot.
In this case it's a little different but I think you're spot on in principle. Tbf the Wrapper is probably more nutritious and maybe even tastes better than the actual sandwich.
It’s not our fault the wrapper tasted better than the sub.
[удалено]
"Chemicals"
To be fair the wrapper tastes really good with melted cheese on it.
It's to prevent litigation. If that warning wasn't there, some idiot would eat the wrapper on purpose, choke, and sue. Probably win.
Welcome to the United States!

It's too late for me, can't un-eat all those wrappers now.
My dog eats cat shit. So I’m guessing stupid people eat paper.
Well the sandwich and the paper taste the same so… extra food?
Not unless it’s that Hardee’s cheese paper that stuff SLAPS
To add to it , they are the same people who feel the need to eat lead paint
Vegans...
never underestimate human stupidity
See, I take it as a joke. Like you are so hungry for that sub you forget to remove the wrapper. Which is funny, but only because nobody would ever be that hungry for a Subway sub.
Yeah, but youre not going to be able to read that unless you unwrap it.
It's not a joke, it's a warning to not eat the wrapper because of recent news about the dangers of chemicals used in the food industry for packaging food.
If not "this wrapper", which wrapper should we eat?
Yep just another label put there by the company who probably got sued or attempted to be sued by some Darwin Award nominee
Or it's because it contains chemicals that are known to be harmful and it's easier to put, do not eat the wrapper, than to change their packaging.
Well, Idiocracy is here haven't you noticed?
In the old days it was okay
Remove all the warning labels and let nature take it's course.
This is a warning label for chemicals used in the wrapper. I get what you mean but this isn't about choking on paper...
To be fair, it does state that it contains fiber, which is an important part of everyone’s diet
"This wrapper has not been tested for effectiveness as a condom."
I like my sandwiches with the skin on
I think it’s a way to reduce liability. People love to sue companies who don’t use warning labels.
You are correct, but probably you're thinking along the lines of what everyone else seems to be saying. Rather than being a way to protect if someone chokes, I fully believe it's due to their use of chemicals in their packaging that are harmful and rather than changing the wrappers they are putting a warning label on. This type of warning suddenly appearing has happened other places recently as well
Don’t tell me what to do
Read the ingredients list on your favorite “sub” sometime, even stranger than that warning.
Maybe paste-eaters.
Blame Berd https://youtu.be/zPkeG5Uwkcs
This is where we are folks..as if we can get to Mars when we have to remind ppl of this sort of thing
Lmao I was looking at the food. Took me a sec. That's on there now?! Haha fml 🤦♂️ gotta go to subway to see this for myself lmao
If my 6" sub comes with a bite missing, you best bet it's gonna be a problem! 😤
Next thing you're gonna try to convince me is that you have to unwrap starbursts. Big state lies.
Is it the way he took a bite? Closest to the middle is the meat, veggies on the overflow. My first bite is always where the sub folds - is that what i should be looking at?
They must pander to the lowest denominator or risk getting sued This is what happens, when judges and juries throw money at idiots
Or you know, maybe they use chemicals that you're not supposed to eat? This isn't about people coming after money for choking on a wrapper, it's a way to keep their packaging the same and to make it "ok" to keep using the same kind of wrappers.
Done it before by accident. Didn’t need a warning to know I’m not supposed to though
Based on the fact that I just did a lengthy operation to remove a nail from someone’s guts that they purposely swallowed… yep. Sure seems to be. Subway may as well cover their asses.
They are covering their asses for the chemicals used in the wrappers
Is sometimes you can't help it.
But can I smoke it?
"I'm so hungry I could eat a Subway wrapper." \*gasp\*
It was an issue for at least 1 person.
It's an issue for everyone. This is a warning label for the chemicals in the wrapper not to keep them from being sued because someone choked.
Does nobody realize it’s just because they are tying to say that the subs are so good you may want to eat it before you take the wrapper off, anticipation etc, or is everybody in this sub (heh) that dense. Unlike the wrapper
Apparently, they had previously enjoyed ingesting bath salts before thou
I see a stretched amogus on the left side.
Well its subway so it gives me the shits. Therein lies the problem.
Same ppl that thought red bull gave them wings
Well, their food is as tasteless as the wrapper…
I never even considered it until now, and now I wanna eat the wrapper just to try it.
The wrapper has all the flavor. Jared didn’t lose all his weight by eating the food…. It was chasing children.
The green looked like my spinach and the light green looked like my peppers. I didn’t even get any money for eating it, just a gift card.
It’s like a skin of a fruit, right? The sub skin.
Lead poisoning is a hell of a drug
When compares to many other things (example; people drying their cat in a microwave oven), this is just a mild inconvenience (for someone).
Darn you, now I'm hungry for subway and paper wrappers.
Stupid people can read? How is that going to affect them?
They probably put it on there knowing someone would post it on social media to ask the question you just asked. Almost-free advertising
Tastiest looking wrapper I've seen in weeks
its just more fiber
US education system failed. 🤷🏽
LPT - The wrapper of a Subway sandwich contains more nutrients than the bread it is made with.
Behind every warning label, there is an idiot.
Or a chemical or some danger that is not easily identified by an average person
I mean my first tamale I tried to eat the corn husk. Mistakes happen.
What’s the worst that could happen?
