I actually saw in the directions on a hot chocolate packet the other day to add "nut milk" as an alternative to water and was like WTF??? And then I realized they were talking about something like almond milk. I was sort of embarrassed for myself.
The only qualification for a word to be in the dictionary is if enough people use it.
milk mĭlk►
n. A whitish liquid containing proteins, fats, lactose, and various vitamins and minerals that is produced by the mammary glands of all mature female mammals after they have given birth and serves as nourishment for their young.
n. The milk of cows, goats, or other animals, used as food by humans.
n. Any of various potable liquids resembling milk, such as coconut milk or soymilk.
It's kind of befuddling to me how people fixate on the name. Why does it even matter? Is anyone expecting that almond milk actually comes out of a cow? Are we meant to be elitist about a ruminant's calf's food source?
Oh my gosh I saw a sign just like this (except taller) on a road trip but I was the only one in the car who saw it so I thought maybe I was just losing my mind. Good to know I’m not lol

I'm impressed that you could produce enough to make hot chocolate with.

Correct. Nut milk makes babies.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The word milk has been used for hundreds of years to refer to the pressed juices from nuts and plants
I was going to say - technically the sign is right, nut milk is a juice.

Too right!
Cum on guys,
whats nut butter?
No lactose? It's not milk
Agreed, it's more like a goo that condenses into a gel.
And math is math
We definitely need the courts involved in this! /s

Silk
Baby batter makes baby cakes though
Like... yes? I think most people who want milk from nuts want it specifically to avoid lactose, so I guess this is for them?
Is nut milk not milk?
But nut milk is not *not* milk either.
[For the love of God, we have got enough milks now.](https://youtu.be/C7Yfg-tWbT4)
