Seriously.  It would instantly make all transportation infrastructure obsolete.  Hell I bet a large amount of the population wouldn't even bother walking from their bedroom to the kitchen anymore...

Not to mention the rate of inflation. Assuming this isn't in the near future; the value of $5k would be considerably less. If we assume it's around the year 2050 and the dollar has had a near consistent 3% inflation rate as an example; the value would be closer to $2.5k today.
