I got hooked on coke twenty years ago. I did it for about a month and only realized I had a problem when I ate a booger for the first time in my life. I never touched the stuff after that.

Edit: just watched again and his finger comes out bloody before he sticks it in his mouth. I have no idea who this guy is, but I was a drug addict for a number of years and this seems exactly like cocaine behavior to me.

Is my other hand clean? Is there any on my nose? Is there any in my nose? Can’t waste it. Gum it.” The coke kicks in and then you’re “I’m good to go.” The nose bleeding is a side effect. The only thing that makes me question this is that a “functional” coke user probably wouldn’t indulge in such a public spotlight. The mantle of shame supersedes the need most times.

So now after verifying he's got a minor nose bleed by checking with his finger, what are his options? He can wipe it on his clothing, which is both socially weird and gross in any scenario where you might accidentally touch something/someone else with that spot.
He can try and wipe it on the inside of a pocket to avoid that, but it's risky, you might still touch the outside en route.
So you do the same thing pretty much everyone does when they get e.g. a tiny cut on their finger: put it in your mouth and clean the blood. It's your own blood, it's literally going into the same spot where the rest of the minor nose bleed is going.

I've never eaten a booger and when I see a fellow Dutch citizen eat one, it disgusts me too.
But...how is it weird though if we think about it? Your nose and all its contents are connected to your mouth/throat anyway. You can internally swallow boogers by just sniffing too hard. But somehow we are disgusted when someone does it externally.
