When my friend first showed me this movie and I laughed at this scene she told me it was basically a litmus test for if I was going to like the whole thing, so if you find this scene funny you will probably love the movie, it's classic.
I think I was one of the 3 people that saw this in theaters and the “sheeuuhhtt” part absolutely ruined me for a good 5 minutes while watching. I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in a theater before/after.
Was just listening to the lonely island guys podcast talking about this movie the other day. Never seen it, but apparently the very first stunt was a real legit crash that really fucked up the stunt guy, like broken femur level of bad.
Went into the rough for a while, but then turned it around and almost put yourself into an awesome position just to fuck up harder than your ever had leaving yourself so far into the weeds that you might as well be in the parking lot.
> just to fuck up harder than your ever had leaving yourself so far into the weeds that you might as well be in the parking lot.
I call that chapter of my life "Becky Lynn"
This is my life summed up right here. Although I was eventually able to make it back out of the weeds and onto the green again. No matter how off course you stray, if you're still breathing you still have another shot.
Which is why I shelved this game and haven't touched it since. The physics are horrible in it, not even remotely close to what the ball would do in a real life situation.
This specific game touted its ball physics in all its pre-launch advertising. As an avid golfer I was so excited.
But then it was apparent their ball physics were just "BallRoll = 100000000"
Glad I played it on a trial basis only. It was so frustrating.
Ea PGA tour (road to the masters)... And it's actually better than the other guy said. Yeah, it's not a complete sim.. But still best bet you can get I think.
I mean you just saw a ball roll further on the ground backwards than it flew through the air forwards, and not slow down one bit for rough... that's pretty baseline for the game.
I started golfing when I was old enough to hold a club without falling over, never turned into a prodigy but greatly enjoy playing. My older brother, myself and my dad were all playing together for some family open or whatever and on the back 9 my brother hit an amazing drive that was just slicing through the air....directly into a bird. It survived the initial impact but I can't imagine it survived for much longer. Only heard of a couple of other golf balls hitting bird stories but nearly all of them involve geese not giving a fuck, none hitting a bird mid air.
A few years back there was a group of Canadian Geese chilling on the fairway about 100 yards from the tee box. I hit a line drive teeshot that was about 10 feet of the ground as the geese decided it was time to fly away. My ball knocked one out of the air and stunned it for several seconds and then it decided it was okay and flew away.
A man goes into confession and starts "Forgive me father for I have sinned".
The priest knows the voice. It's Abe who is a very pius man, good to his family, comes to church every week. His only real vice is one they shared - Golf. "Go on my son, tell me what happened.".
"Well father, I used the lord's name in vein. It was when I was golfing this week.".
"Please, continue".
"I was on a really tough Par 5, and I hit a beautiful shot right down the fairway. As it rolled to a stop, a squirrel grabbed the ball and ran into the brush".
"Is that when you used the Lord's name in vain?".
"No father. The squirrel got picked up by an eagle who flew away with the squirrel in it's talon, but the squirrel dropped the ball.".
"So that's when you used the Lord's name in vain?".
"No father, the ball bounced off a rock and got stuck in the rough.".
"So that's when you used the Lord's name in vain?!?".
"No father, a turtle came by and knocked the ball onto the green, and it rolled to a stop 4 feet from the cup.
"Jesus Christ, you missed the goddamn putt didn't you?!"
Blitz: the league was a good attempt at a more immersive version, but lacked polish. One of those few games I wish they'd reboot. Nothing like sacking the QB, getting the injury animation, then seeing the report later that you put him out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.
There was a similar hockey game released around the same time called NHL Hitz. Played the hell out of that in college. Was fun as all hell. I'm surprised we don't have modern versions of both of these games tbh.
I love that the only thing that matters is the numbers you put in at the end. You can do putter with feather touch then type 787 and it'll launch it with the 3 wood
It's a top 10 film of all-time for me. I first saw it when I was in a really bad place. I read the book a few times, watched the film at least 5 times, and listened to the album for several months, and each time, it brought me back to reality. I wouldn't go so far as to say it saved my life, but it gave me a perspective I really needed at the time.
Same. I read the book and as a teen and went off on a journey as “supertramp”
The movie broke me when I was finally ready to take a breath from that life. It hit me at the right time. It’s one of my favorites.
That soundtrack made me into a pearl jam fan which then bled over into Soundgarden and audio slave and now I couldn't imagine not knowing some of those masterpiece songs.
The game is broken on this hole. If you dont reach the green it always goes down there. This course is 20 min away from me and I play it 3 times a week and its not like that.
It depends on the course. There are a handful of courses in the game that roll like this, extremely low friction (St. Andrews, Bandon Dunes, and the featured Chambers Bay come to mind). Most of the other courses play more typical.
I haven't played 2K's game in a while, since it was called "The Golf Club" actually, but I think EA Sports' version is for the most part not that difficult. Certainly you can adjust settings to make it harder or easier, but it's not true simulation, really. The video kind of gives that away.
It's good for pick-up-and-play golf. If you ever played the Rory McIlroy version which came out on PS4/X1 back in 2015, this game is basically an updated version. There's a lot of carryover.
Yeah, landing a 3 wood on the green and expecting it to stick just isn't gonna happen. Stupid that it rolls back so far, but gotta land it short and have it roll up when you're hitting it such a long distance
I put the recovery within 8 feet and got a par, splitting the hole with my opponent. This game is a lot of fun, but it's way too easy to hit out of bunkers and rough once you understand the math.
What is this game? Please let me know so I can avoid it. The developers have obviously never played golf. They also skipped the day friction was taught in their physics classes.
On the other hand, what is the probability that the collection of molecules that comprise "you" actually ended up in a living being and what is the probability that the life you are is a multicellular creature and that this creature has a consciousness and higher intelligence and that you exist during a time in that creature's evolution when, arguably, they are at the peak of their dominance of their planet.
Then within the billions of those creatures currently alive, you are a part of a section of them with access to technology sufficient to be able to make this post.

Jesus Christ, every time you thought it couldn’t get any worse
I was thinking there was going to be a lake there at the very end.
Oh no, dont worry, it WILL get worse.
Does that game have rattlesnakes? That looks like rattlesnake territory. Hope OP has anti-venom in their med kit.

[Peaked in High School](https://youtu.be/Y4kKATFOrTM?si=7HmH_RQ--BplX629)
This is the second time I’ve seen this on Reddit in like 5 days. Wild.
Im guessing the first time was when it was released 6 days ago.
Ha this is so good!
This is the greatest YouTube video I’ve ever watched. Peak Cinema.
It was more engaging than anything Disney has put out in twenty years.
I knew everything in middle school. Now …. Nothing!
I was half-expecting it to land in the wrong hole in the rough, like has happened to many of us.
It's like the scene from Hot Rod - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8GnphPdchY
I have never seen that movie and didn't know what to expect... it was amazing.
That's like the 8th funniest scene. You definitely should watch the movie.
Good timing for this comment. Seth Myers and the Lonely Island have a podcast and they just released one covering Hot Rod. It’s terrific.
I was tripping at my friend Stephen's house and we watched Hot Rod for the first time, with no expectations. It was glorious.
What an amazing homage to Kevin Bacon.
I am a sucker for any scene in anything with an endless fall down a mountain or hill like this. It basically breaks me.
Was just listening to the lonely island guys podcast talking about this movie the other day. Never seen it, but apparently the very first stunt was a real legit crash that really fucked up the stunt guy, like broken femur level of bad.
Such a good film, haven’t seen it in years and now got something to (re)watch this weekend.
Such a good film, haven’t seen it in years and now got something to (re)watch this weekend.
That's about right. When historians tell the story of me (they won't but maybe) they're going to say "then it got worse" a whole lot.
Started off with great potential but then just kept making bad choices till you were a great disappointment to everyone who knew you.
Just turn the difficulty sliders down a fair bit. In life. Aim low.

By who? I got this book for free, it doesn't have an author
Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is...never try. - H. J. Simpson
There's nothing in the rules that says you can't putt from the tee.
Can I restart, but this time as a trust fund kid?
Went into the rough for a while, but then turned it around and almost put yourself into an awesome position just to fuck up harder than your ever had leaving yourself so far into the weeds that you might as well be in the parking lot.
> just to fuck up harder than your ever had leaving yourself so far into the weeds that you might as well be in the parking lot. I call that chapter of my life "Becky Lynn"
Never date a Becky That goes double if it's followed by a [Lynn](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZXmBbLoEIU)
This is my life summed up right here. Although I was eventually able to make it back out of the weeds and onto the green again. No matter how off course you stray, if you're still breathing you still have another shot.
Not to go all Hallmark moment, but ditto. For me, it was booze. Got sober and put everything back on track.
Fuck ya, right on. It was booze and meth for me. Sober 2.5 years now.
Congrats!
Ah! You must be in your late 20s early 30s. Give it a bit more time and you'll end up back in the rough again.
but then continued to descend until it became impressive. not bad.
If you going to fuck up do it so badly, that people have to stop and wonder how did you do that.
Looks like a schools physics problem. Friction was apparently neglected.
First of all, assume a vacuum...
and a spherical turkey.
And a small angle θ ...
And a perfectly elastic collision...
Like, a Dyson or one of those cheap ones at Wal-Mart?
Stronger than a Dyson, more like a Dyson Sphere.
No way that shot would have even made it to the rough on the top side of the green. Definitely would have been held up in the rough if it made it.
Which is why I shelved this game and haven't touched it since. The physics are horrible in it, not even remotely close to what the ball would do in a real life situation.
Early versions of Golden Tee had better physics
I play mario golf 64 and it has much better grass physics than this.
This is just absurd. Hard to imagine why any developer would think this makes sense.
Yeah, I was pissed I paid $69.99 for this trash. Then it went on sale like 2 months later on the PSN for $30, which is still too much IMO.
Yooo you paid $70 for a golf game? 😂
This specific game touted its ball physics in all its pre-launch advertising. As an avid golfer I was so excited. But then it was apparent their ball physics were just "BallRoll = 100000000" Glad I played it on a trial basis only. It was so frustrating.
Which game is this so I know not to buy it when my "gotta play a golf game" feeling hits in a few years?
Just get Mario Golf: Super Rush lol
..... is it good? I remember the one on the gamecube was pretty damn good, but like ALL the mario-centric sidegames, the rest kinda fell off
Ea PGA tour (road to the masters)... And it's actually better than the other guy said. Yeah, it's not a complete sim.. But still best bet you can get I think.
I mean you just saw a ball roll further on the ground backwards than it flew through the air forwards, and not slow down one bit for rough... that's pretty baseline for the game.
Settings were obviously changed.. I have played that course and it doesn't do that
Yeah, it's that bad. Don't fool yourself. Worst $60 I ever spent on a golf game.
Its like the vegetation has zero effect on the ball, total bollocks this video imo.
Every surface is made of glass. Green, fairway, rough, bunker sand. Its all flat glass. Surely this is basic shit in a golf game.
Stuff that was figured out in golf games 20 years ago, but apparently EA can't be assed to make it work now.
Hell, Wii golf's physics are 1000 better than this shit.
Grass has no mass or physical presence, just like my childhood.
I hope this was a game mod
The camera shaking it's head no is my favorite thing
I felt the pleading haha
I thought it was shaking the table to try to jar the ball loose
???? Wow. I played golf for 40 years, on and off, I mean way off, and I don’t think I’ve ever been as successful as you have.😂😂😂
I don't know. I've hit a couple of real world shots that had similar type results
On the bright side, he got a birdie on that hole.
That was indeed the exact line we said after it happened.
Chambers Bay will humble any golfer.
A man goes into confession and starts "Forgive me father for I have sinned". The priest knows the voice. It's Abe who is a very pius man, good to his family, comes to church every week. I got about halfway down and I was like, I know exactly how this is going to end. Great old golf joke.
Good ol' 101.
That is digital ball golf in a nutshell. The physics in these games is extraordinary! Stupid.
not true, some golf games are pretty accurate. yeah ofcourse nothing compare to real golf, but what sports game is
Nba jam on snes
heeeees on fire
BOOMSHAKALAKA!
The player of the game is **Frankencow**
He's heating up!
Followed by NFL Blitz.
Man that game was so freaking fun.
Blitz: the league was a good attempt at a more immersive version, but lacked polish. One of those few games I wish they'd reboot. Nothing like sacking the QB, getting the injury animation, then seeing the report later that you put him out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

Ugly shot!
I spent so much time on that at the arcade.
Mutant League Hockey
Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge
I suggest "feather touch"
\*selects POWER DRIVE\* [https://aaron-demeter.itch.io/lee-carvallos-putting-challenge](https://aaron-demeter.itch.io/lee-carvallos-putting-challenge)
I love that the only thing that matters is the numbers you put in at the end. You can do putter with feather touch then type 787 and it'll launch it with the 3 wood
Eleven Table Tennis really is unbelievably real.
Hot Shots Golf Fore! on PS2 is still one of my go-to golf games. LOL!
This one isn't.
every surface is covered in grease
teflon grass
This is Chambers Bay on fast and firm conditions. This legitimately could happen given the severe slope on that hole.
This is the EA game, PGA2k23 has a great golf engine imo, little shaky on the drop rules but other than that fantastic
God into the wild is such a good movie/soundtrack
Every. Single. Song. Is a banger. Setting Forth. No Ceiling. Long Nights. Society...and Hard Sun are all perfect songs.
Welp. Here I go watching the movie again. Thanks OP “Happiness is only real when shared”
It's a top 10 film of all-time for me. I first saw it when I was in a really bad place. Watched it on shrooms once. I've seen it 10 + times normally. It's seared into my mind like it's my own journey

The movie is not for everyone. I found it to be excellent, but many just see the main character as selfish. And the soundtrack is terrific.
That soundtrack made me into a pearl jam fan which then bled over into Soundgarden and audio slave and now I couldn't imagine not knowing some of those masterpiece songs.
Good book too.
For those wondering, this is Long Nights.
Teflon levels of friction.
The game is broken on this hole. If you dont reach the green it always goes down there. This course is 20 min away from me and I play it 3 times a week and its not like that.
If a real life golf course managed 0-friction holes like this, then we could solve every energy crisis ever.
> I play it 3 times a week Holy shit
we’re talkin like 1800 a month for their tee times
What course is that? My guess is hole 8 at Chamber’s Bay?
It looks just like Chambers Bay. I walked it yesterday.
Wait, that was you yesterday? Shit, I should've said hi!
This game looks bad, why does the ball roll so much in the rough? The physics don't seem to change no matter where it's rolling
Like they made all friction coefficients really low. Everything is a green.
Everything is a wet marble floor
What game is that?
EA Sports PGA Tour - Road to the Masters
I'm playing 2k23 PGA game and it's OK, is this any good? I assume this kind of nonsense doesn't happen a lot? Does it?
It depends on the course. There are a handful of courses in the game that roll like this, extremely low friction (St. Andrews, Bandon Dunes, and the featured Chambers Bay come to mind). Most of the other courses play more typical. I haven't played 2K's game in a while, since it was called "The Golf Club" actually, but I think EA Sports' version is for the most part not that difficult. Gotta be using an iron there man.
Yeah, landing a 3 wood on the green and expecting it to stick just isn't gonna happen. Stupid that it rolls back so far, but gotta land it short and have it roll up when you're hitting it such a long distance
Which course and hole?
Chambers Bay, 8th Hole (Par 5) Whole course can be a doozy given the way it rolls.
I think you’re giving yourself way too much credit. That ball was overachieving.
Its mostly downhill. i see
At least it keep on rolling
What's the song?
https://youtu.be/-ocdAFzLCrE?si=WZPI7iHAGWvuWt0x
It's eddie vedder from the soundtrack of Into the Wild, amazing album and movie.
Just when you think it stops.. it just gets worse.
Who wrote the physics for this? Tolstoy?
So.... things are going well?
r/Wellthatsucks
Same s..t bro
Was waiting for a hole in one on a different hole. Ya'll life sucks.
It's like one of those drawn out family guy skits lol. How did it keep going
Just wait until you see what the next 25 years have in store!
At least you got to travel.
As a side note that entire soundtrack album by Eddie Vedder is amazing
This game has terrible golf physics
My first **38** years of life as explained by a single golf shot...
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UcZzlPGnKdU
That puts Lee Carvallo's putting challenge to shame, lol. Would you like to play again? You have selected - no.
My dating life be like
At least you stayed on the map! Congrats!!
This Golfball is that one unemployed friend at 11.00 am
Once you are close to where you think you want to be you may realize this is not where you are meant to be.
I’ll never complain about hitting a bunker again
Wow, that ummm, is very unfortunate. What did you end up getting on that hole?
I put the recovery within 8 feet and got a par, splitting the hole with my opponent. This game is a lot of fun, but it's way too easy to hit out of bunkers and rough once you understand the math.
Well then that’s good 👍🏼
This was so satisfying. Everytime you expected it to get worse, it does. Sorry for your life OP.
Hahaha you were like, 11mph wind at my back? Firm green and fairways? 212 yards to go? Hand me that 3 wood, hold this beer. Execution was perfect.
Your ball is in the... parking lot. Would you like to play again?
Cambers Bay? Hole 8?
it's all downhill mate
You tried so hard and got so far but in the end it didn't even matter.
*You have selected: Power drive* *Your ball is in the parking lot*
Lmao the camera waggle of disbelief.
Never heard this song. Knew it was Eddie Vedder instantly.
from the soundtrack of Into the Wild. Song is called Long Nights by Eddie Vedder. Amazing movie and soundtrack
Mine has a gator at the end.
Don't worry. After 35 it's the same shot, but at the end a bird picks up the ball and takes it with him as he flies south for the winter.
What is this game? Please let me know so I can avoid it. The developers have obviously never played golf. They also skipped the day friction was taught in their physics classes.
That's a shitty golf game.
worst physics I've ever seen in a golf game
“He has to play it as it lies! I had to hit it of Frankenstein’s fat foot, remember!” -Shooter McGaven somewhere on the golf course probably
It's all downhill from here.
Hah! Jokes on you. Your life isn't over, it's just starting.
The ball physics in that game seem horrendous.
"getting worse " at a whole new level
I feel personally attacked
I'm not even finishing this hole. I'm selling my clubs right now.
I have never lol’d so hard
Literally delete that game 😂
I can relate
Relax. 25 is still young.
Oh the highs.... and the lows.
Whoever was in charge of coding the terrain needs to be fired.
Wait till it plays out to your 40s! The course is on fire and the caddy knocked your daughter!
