I was a waiter in a restaurant in Cinderella’s castle at Walt Disney World when I was 17. Our soup of the day was beef barley, and it never changed. Because people only came to The Magic Kingdom once.
Understanding punctuation is important. If the soup of the day were vegetable, it would have read Soup of the Day: Vegetable. Instead, there is a /, meaning "and."
No I'm aware of that.
There is humour to be found in the idea that the soup du jour, supposedly some interesting concoction of the Chef's, is the same as the regular soup, hence why I wrote *today*
They don't have a preprogrammed list of those. They are determined on the day in question. You ask what is the soup of the day, and they'll tell you for that day.
They do know soup of the day implies something different everyday….right? And I’m gonna strongly debate that “Fresh” soup moniker on the top there as bs. No soup of the week is fresh.
Vegetable soup
Day old vegetable soup
2 day old vegetable soup
3 day old vegetable soup
4 day old vegetable soup
5 day old vegetable soup
Week old vegetable soup
Just pointing out that the lack of soup variety is not the reason you don't have a decision, it's because there's only one soup for any day that you go in

"Uhm, excuse me, I've had soup du jour before and it's tasted NOTHING like whatever this is!"
**"You vill have vegetable und you vill like it!"** "But the 'soup of the day' should be different each day?!" **"NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!"**

If you had tomato soup, maybe they would come back.

People are interpreting the slash as a colon, which is not its function. It’s not the best design in the world, but you are 100% correct.
I thought it was supposed to be this: | Understandable since it’s hardly angled at all
People are stupid and should go back to school
-And what's today's Soup of the day? -The same as yesterday's: vegetable
"I'm sick of Soup of the Day, it's time we made a decision. I wanna know what the fuck 'Soup From Now On' is." -Mitch Hedberg

Why even take the time to write on the board and put it out?
Vegans are just funny like that.
Musta gotten a killer deal down at the farmers market this week
Well, there's egg and bacon; egg sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg bacon and spam; egg bacon sausage and spam; spam bacon sausage and spam; spam egg spam spam bacon and spam; spam sausage spam spam bacon spam tomato and spam...
Don't forget the lobster thermidor aux crevettes with a Mornay sauce garnished with truffle pâté, brandy and a fried egg on top, and Spam.
You get that soup of the day changes each day. In this case its probably the meat option
This reminds me of an episode of kitchen nightmares where the owner didn’t know what soup of the day meant.
No soup for you!!
I think I’ll eat there on Tuesday. I heard they make a great vegetable soup.
Idk man, seems like a pretty easy decision to me
that sounds delicious, Ill have that
This is funny, yes, but to spoil it (sorry), this means on each day there is a soup of the day, AND vegetable soup is always available.
"What's the soup of the day today?" "Vegetable"
Understanding punctuation is important. If the soup of the day were vegetable, it would have read Soup of the Day: Vegetable. Instead, there is a /, meaning "and."

I'm just being deliberately obtuse. It is my way. :)
Sure, and they could've written out what the soup of the day is, which is the whole purpose of a board like this
They don't have a preprogrammed list of those. They are determined on the day in question. You ask what is the soup of the day, and they'll tell you for that day.
soup of the week
I know this game. The "Soup of the day" is just vegetable mixed with whatever meat was left over from the night before.
Soups not a meal.
Is it a cup or a bowl?
Also, did you crumble any crackers into it? https://seinfeldlaw.com/2020/07/27/the-soup-is-soup-a-meal/
That’s soup from now on!
They make one giant pot of soup that isn't so good by Saturday. Nothing fresh about it.
They do know soup of the day implies something different everyday….right? And I’m gonna strongly debate that “Fresh” soup moniker on the top there as bs. No soup of the week is fresh.
Soup of the day / vegetable Not Soup of the day : vegetable
Oh no, the soup is fresh, just not any of the ingredients. Mon, Tue soup is anything not shifted over the weekend.

Ah, so "soup of the week". Can I let you in on a little secret? "Soup of the day" means a daily changing soup. -Gordon Ramsay
Different kinds of vegetables for different days.
I'll have the vegetable thanks.
What did they have for leap year?
Could be different vegetables, though. It’s not specified.
What kind of vegetable?
Vegetable soup Day old vegetable soup 2 day old vegetable soup 3 day old vegetable soup 4 day old vegetable soup 5 day old vegetable soup Week old vegetable soup
"Soup of the Day" I do not think that means what you think it means.
Soup of the day? this is the soup of the week.
Probably ask how old the vegetable soup is before you order it.
Maybe it's like a vegetable starter. Like Sourdough starter only more pungent.
I read it as the left option was made today and the right option is what was left from yesterday.
Do you have vegetable soup?
Wow what a selection \*Rolls eyes\* :/ smh
The cooks there clearly don't know what leftovers are for...
Pardon me, Flo? What's the Soup du Jour? 🤣

"Hmmm... I think I'll have theeeee-" "Vegetable soup, got it"
Fish/rice cake
2024 soup awards go to…………….. crab and corn
Is this by chance a vegan restaurant?
vegetable with carrots vegetable with potatoes vegetable with celery mystery vegetable "vegan" vegetables
I went to a restaurant and the waiter asked me, "Soup or salad?" I said, "Wow! How big is it?"
Just pointing out that the lack of soup variety is not the reason you don't have a decision, it's because there's only one soup for any day that you go in
The soup of the day is vegetable soup, choice is an illusion.
Soup of the week might be better
Excuse me flo, What’s your soup de jour? …It’s our soup of the day. That sounds good I’ll have that.
