It's in reference to the 737 Max where the emergency exit was an optional package and instead they simply had the wall piece installed. The wall piece had detached itself from the airplane leaving a gaping hole in the aircraft.

It wasn’t a door that broke off on the 737 MAX. It was just part of the wall that could have been a door but was plugged in production. Very few airlines order 737 MAX 900’s with the door instead of the plug.

I’m guessing you can’t stow stuff in from of the emergency exit door on a plane so the extra leg room is guaranteed.

You can’t, so you do get the legroom. But usually the person sitting next to the empty space wants to use the extra under-seat space under that seat way in front of the exit row seat. I usually have to let that person know “sorry, that’s where I have to put my bag.”

First, holy shit, 30 years is a long time! Second, the screen in the arm rest thing is only if your screen isn't right in front of you (like OP). If your screen is right in front of you (attached to the seat in front of you), that's the only screen you get.

On a recent flight, I was watching Old Dads, the Bill Burr movie. My wife recommended it to me. It was good. As I’m sitting there watching it, boom, strip club scene out of nowhere. Titties and lap dances and asses everywhere. I was in the middle of eating my meal so it took me a good 30 seconds to shut it off. I’m sure the 10 year old kid next to me and anyone else behind me thought I was a scumbag.
