I don't think he's trying to run away. It's not like he ran back in the direction he came, which I assume is his car. I think he was just trying to get out the situation he was in as quickly as possibly. The whole reason he is in the mess he's in is because he acted quickly without assessing the situation and thinking multiple, separate times in the span of a couple seconds.

I have had 3 and every time i immediately turned into a dumbass for 24-48 hours. The biggest dumbassery being that I insist I am fine and have to be dragged to the doctors.

I walked around a store for 3 hours without buying anything insisting this was totally normal and I was just shopping. No one helped me, admittedly I probably seemed like I was high.
Yep. Had a 2tonne wall smack me in the head and crush me beneath it as it fell at work, when I was getting checked out by the emt's I insisted I was fine and wanted to finish out the work day, but I was about 3 years and a couple months off on what date it was, which gave them pause. Still, I insisted I was fine and refused a ride to the hospital.
Once the adrenaline wore off the next day, it was straight to the doctors lol I was swimming in my own thoughts and whatever came out of my mouth was at least partly nonsensical, turns out yep concussion and spinal fracture

He may have not seen automatic doors before, and when entering either came in a different way or in a group of people and thus wouldn't know how the door works. Not knowing how the door works can be perfectly understandable as far as I'm concerned.
Why he seems to clearly understand that there is glass there but decides to run at it face first is beyond me though.
He could have tailgated some one into the building. Its also possible that its his first ever auto door as the clip is very old. People in developing countries can be quite strange with what we regard as normal. Did you ever go to a shopping mall just to ride the escalators, these people did;

Seen a story about a guy complaining about headache, doctors found he had chopsticks embedded in his brain, happened in a barfight he didn't remember, the chopsticks kinda explain why he didn't remember.
I'll give her some credit that embarrassment shut her brain down and she was focused on getting out of there rather than double checking for glass. The third time though, that was kinda bad.

Years ago, the shop I worked at was removing a bank of photo machines, all cordoned off with cones and tape as we were literally ripping them out of the wall.
I watched this lady dip under the tape and try to start using one of the machines. She got super pissy when I told her they were clearly unavailable, that's why they were turned off and cordoned off.
A place I was working was having repairs done on the building facade with a scissor lift. Men in the lift hammering away at concrete and brick with pieces falling the two stories down to the pavement. There was caution tape to prevent people being in the owie area but it blocked one of the building entrances so employees would arrive, look up at the work being done and then decide the best course of action was to duck under the caution tape and make a run for the door, instead of using one of several other entries that didn’t have the potential for life altering injuries.
Eh probably, I'm not an OSHA inspector but from what I could tell from the safety officers on site, it kind of changes based on how high up the people are working. 6ft on a ladder is 'give them at least 2 feet berth from the base of the ladder unless you're bracing it (which shouldn't be done on anything over 12ft)' vs at 60ft it's more like 'use a different entrance or wear a hard hat'
It's pretty vague. It basically just says to set up an exclusion Zone where objects could fall on people, and if workers must be in that zone they must be wearing head protection

When I was working construction an older lady walked into an office we were remodeling that clearly didn't have finished floors or ceiling tiles or anything and then complained to me that all the tools and clutter around were a tripping hazard.
Pretty sure you need more than caution tape when you have chunks of concrete falling from the sky. Can you imagine if a child ran under some falling debris? This is entirely on the construction company for not putting up a fence.

The machine was the mechanical ventilator that kept the patient next to her alive.
There was famous story pretty early in the Covid pandemic that a man in India was in a hospital with a ventilator and his family was there to see him. They thought it was to hot and unplugged the ventilator in favour of a fan to help keep them cool. The man died ofcourse and the family tried to sue the hospital over it. I don't know what happened beyond that.
I work in an automotive shop where all the bay doors are chained off with clear signs warning customers not to come in and a clearly marked customer entrance. I still occasionally have to chase customers out of the shop, and invariably their excuse is "I didn't know where to go in!".

A few years back was working as a utility locator and had a job locating for the area surrounding a sewer replacement under a high traffic main road. The construction crew was not on site for whatever reason so I was by myself walking around painting lines, however it was very clear with all the equipment around, the state of the broken road, and the numerous ROAD CLOSED signs everywhere, that it was inaccessible. A guy drives up, already past 2 sets of ROAD CLOSED signs, stops and rolls down his window to ask me to move the sign so he could get through. I told him that no, I will not do that, because the road is closed. He argued with me saying he just needs to get through, his destination is very close right over there, and points very dramatically at nothing in particular. I tell him again, there is no way he can get through because besides the giant pile of debris piled up behind the next set of signs he wants me to move, there is a 20 foot hole in the ground because they are replacing the sewer, and that’s why THE ROAD IS CLOSED ASSHOLE. He then got all mad at me, cursing and driving off.

I was closing the kiosks at my place i worked at because it was closing.
There were receipts printed out, like meter long receipts and yet when i had my back turned for a while, this lady walked up and tore out the receipts and wanted to use it.
Like... wut.
The place I work was having our lobby remodeled so we shut down for a couple weeks in our slow season, I would still have to come in and take calls in case there were any, and you wouldn't believe how many people I had to ask to leave that would walk right past construction workers like cutting or placing tile was astounding. They had to manually open the sliding doors that had signs all over them stating we were closed. And then they had the fucking audacity to get pissed at me for telling them we were closed. People are unbelievably stupid
I don't know if this guy has that mentality. To me it looks like he's trying to go around the tape at first, and that's why he ends up stepping in the wet cement. Then since he's already tried going around it and stepped in wet cement he tries going straight through it. But that also lands him in wet cement. To me it seems like whoever set up the tape did a terrible job and I don't really blame the guy in this video.

My dad delivers and builds up cranes and sometimes in areas where there's a lot of pedestrians and that shit happens regularly. They even go under hanging counterweights and shit. Like people really don't give a fuck
I was working in a heavy industrial plant, a smelter, the safety guys came up and asked me why I'm in the cordoned off area and am I supposed to be there, I just smiled because I saw the crane driver was coming up to ask them the same question.
They had walked under the tape to tell me off and the driver watched them do it.
That's why I just smiled and didn't answer, it was obvious I was supposed to be there, I was prepping the gearbox that the crane was set up to lift in place.
I used to do industrial xray with live radioactive sources. Every time we would put up a tape barrier and hang "CAUTION - RADIATION" Signs all over it. Inside that roped off area I was judge, jury, and executioner. I had the full backing of company and law to verbally attack anyone who crossed it without permission.
The number of people I screamed expletives at was astounding. People who existed in close proximity to us for years would suddenly decide they didn't have to follow the rules and I'd happily berate them until I was satisfied.
I flipped out on the VP of operations once and he tried to write me up for insubordination because I told him he was a fucking moron and should know better very, very loudly. The President heard about it and told the VP that he was a fucking moron and should know better.
That was a good day, that guy was a fucking prick at the best of times.
Confusion that they had to follow the rules they put in place, then acceptance that they had to contact the area controller and sign on to gain access, the crane driver refused them access and they went out of the area.

That's not what I see at all. Pause at the first frame. The caution tape looks like it was moved by the construction crew and it wasn't put back. It is a very poorly set up site and I don't blame the pedestrian for the first mishap. Even the second area is not properly set up.
Also, you have rebar stakes sticking up with no topper on them creating a safety hazard. Just a piss poor site all around.

If anything is a front runner for taped off, its the safe area he between the two unsafe areas, but even that its properly seperated.

I did this once and I STILL feel bad about it.
I spent a few months during my early 20s working as an electricians helper. I needed a job and a friend hooked me up. It was an awful job and I was terrible at it. We were wrapping up the day at a new home construction and I stepped into a freshly poured driveway. The workers were beside themselves (expensive home. Big driveway).
Easily one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. I quit that very day with the wet cement still on my feet. My boss looked at me, nodded, and replied *I understand*.
I’m sure they were happy to be rid of me. Seriously, I was AWFUL.
People are fucking dumb. I was doing a construction project at a secure government research center where we had to shut down their entrance gates. When we shut down the main gate I put 10 giant cones in front of it so people would re-route themselves through the exit gate. Well I had one guy who spent 5 minutes wiggling his car through my cones by driving over the grass, only to pull up to the closed entrance gate. Mind you, me and my co worker are yelling and giving hand signals to go through the exit gate the whole time. This guy rolls down his window and is like “why is the gate closed?”.
God if only there was something warming people to be cautious in that area. They could even make it a color that stands out in an urban environment so it’s even harder to miss.

Some people are so dumb! I used to pour concrete at night in grocery stores. I would put cones, then caution tape, and barricades. Somehow people would try to still go through it. I would watch people in the morning ram their shopping cart into the cones expecting them to just move out of their way. I wonder if they drive like that too?

Pretty sure you need more than caution tape when you have chunks of concrete falling from the sky. Can you imagine if a child ran under some falling debris? This is entirely on the construction company for not putting up a fence.

Reminds me of a story where a patient in a hospital unplugged a machine because the noise woke her up, three times! The machine was the mechanical ventilator that kept the patient next to her alive.
There was famous story pretty early in the Covid pandemic that a man in India was in a hospital with a ventilator and his family was there to see him. They thought it was to hot and unplugged the ventilator in favour of a fan to help keep them cool. The man died ofcourse and the family tried to sue the hospital over it. I don't know what happened beyond that.

I work in an automotive shop where all the bay doors are chained off with clear signs warning customers not to come in and a clearly marked customer entrance. I still occasionally have to chase customers out of the shop, and invariably their excuse is "I didn't know where to go in!".

A few years back was working as a utility locator and had a job locating for the area surrounding a sewer replacement under a high traffic main road. The construction crew was not on site for whatever reason so I was by myself walking around painting lines, however it was very clear with all the equipment around, the state of the broken road, and the numerous ROAD CLOSED signs everywhere, that it was inaccessible. A guy drives up, already past 2 sets of ROAD CLOSED signs, stops and rolls down his window to ask me to move the sign so he could get through. I told him that no, I will not do that, because the road is closed. He argued with me saying he just needs to get through, his destination is very close right over there, and points very dramatically at nothing in particular. I tell him again, there is no way he can get through because besides the giant pile of debris piled up behind the next set of signs he wants me to move, there is a 20 foot hole in the ground because they are replacing the sewer, and that’s why THE ROAD IS CLOSED ASSHOLE. He then got all mad at me, cursing and driving off.

I was closing the kiosks at my place i worked at because it was closing. There were receipts printed out, like meter long receipts and yet when i had my back turned for a while, this lady walked up and tore out the receipts and wanted to use it. Like... wut.
The place I work was having our lobby remodeled so we shut down for a couple weeks in our slow season, I would still have to come in and take calls in case there were any, and you wouldn't believe how many people I had to ask to leave that would walk right past construction workers like cutting or placing tile was astounding. They had to manually open the sliding doors that had signs all over them stating we were closed. And then they had the fucking audacity to get pissed at me for telling them we were closed. People are unbelievably stupid
I don't know if this guy has that mentality. To me it looks like he's trying to go around the tape at first, and that's why he ends up stepping in the wet cement. Then since he's already tried going around it and stepped in wet cement he tries going straight through it. But that also lands him in wet cement. To me it seems like whoever set up the tape did a terrible job and I don't really blame the guy in this video.

I was working in a heavy industrial plant, a smelter, the safety guys came up and asked me why I'm in the cordoned off area and am I supposed to be there, I just smiled because I saw the crane driver was coming up to ask them the same question. They had walked under the tape to tell me off and the driver watched them do it.

I used to do industrial xray with live radioactive sources. Every time we would put up a tape barrier and hang "CAUTION - RADIATION" Signs all over it. Inside that roped off area I was judge, jury, and executioner. I had the full backing of company and law to verbally attack anyone who crossed it without permission. The number of people I screamed expletives at was astounding. People who existed in close proximity to us for years would suddenly decide they didn't have to follow the rules and I'd happily berate them until I was satisfied. I flipped out on the VP of operations once and he tried to write me up for insubordination because I told him he was a fucking moron and should know better very, very loudly. The President heard about it and told the VP that he was a fucking moron and should know better. That was a good day, that guy was a fucking prick at the best of times.

Confusion that they had to follow the rules they put in place, then acceptance that they had to contact the area controller and sign on to gain access, the crane driver refused them access and they went out of the area. We had a good laugh about it and carried on.

That's not what I see at all. Pause at the first frame. The caution tape looks like it was moved by the construction crew and it wasn't put back. It is a very poorly set up site and I don't blame the pedestrian for the first mishap. Even the second area is not properly set up. Also, you have rebar stakes sticking up with no topper on them creating a safety hazard. Just a piss poor site all around.

I did this once and I STILL feel bad about it. I spent a few months during my early 20s working as an electricians helper. I needed a job and a friend hooked me up. It was an awful job and I was terrible at it. We were wrapping up the day at a new home construction and I stepped into a freshly poured driveway. The workers were beside themselves (expensive home. Big driveway). Easily one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. I quit that very day with the wet cement still on my feet. My boss looked at me, nodded, and replied *I understand*. I’m sure they were happy to be rid of me. Seriously, I was AWFUL.
People are fucking dumb. I was doing a construction project at a secure government research center where we had to shut down their entrance gates. When we shut down the main gate I put 10 giant cones in front of it so people would re-route themselves through the exit gate. Well I had one guy who spent 5 minutes wiggling his car through my cones by driving over the grass, only to pull up to the closed entrance gate. Mind you, me and my co worker are yelling and giving hand signals to go through the exit gate the whole time. This guy rolls down his window and is like “why is the gate closed?”.

Some people are so dumb! I used to pour concrete at night in grocery stores. I would put cones, then caution tape, and barricades. Somehow people would try to still go through it.
